Chapter 1568: Chapter 1568: I Am Not Anyone’s Shadow
These past few years, too many people have complimented her on her beautiful eyes. He wasn’t the first, but the affection and obsession in his eyes for her eyes were blazing.
Chloe White looked at him, "Do you like my eyes?"
Morgan Ashworth didn’t speak, but he looked into her eyes as if he were seeing another person through them.
"Is there a woman you like, whose eyes are exactly like mine?" Chloe asked.
Morgan didn’t respond.
"Are you trying to find her shadow in me? Well, I’m sorry, sir, I’m not her, not anyone’s shadow or substitute."
Morgan furrowed his brows. He didn’t deny that he was looking for a shadow in her, "The thing you asked for, I can agree to it."
Really?
Chloe’s eyes lit up, but would he really be so kind?
She didn’t have any favorable impression of the man before her, because he was too casual.
"Sir, what is your request?"
She’s very clever.
Suddenly, Morgan felt that the woman in front of him might not be Willow Crawford. Willow was the princess of a greenhouse, too well protected, pure and beautiful, while the woman before him was very independent and very intelligent. She wasn’t Willow.
"I want you to stay by my side."
Chloe had guessed this. It seemed this man really liked her eyes. She curved her red lips, "You want to date me? Will you marry me?"
Morgan shook his head, "You’re overthinking it. I won’t date you, and I certainly won’t marry you. Our relationship cannot be seen. When I need you, you come over. Of course, as compensation, I’ll give you the best financial treatment."
Chloe let out a cold laugh, directly refusing, "Impossible, I refuse."
She actually refused.
Morgan found her very interesting.
Chloe took the opportunity to push him away, "If that’s your request, then I’m sorry, we have nothing to talk about. The law may be loose, but it never misses. I don’t believe anyone can cover the sky with one hand. I’ll think of another way."
With that, Chloe decisively left.
She really just left like that.
Morgan didn’t speak to make her stay, nor did he let anyone hold her back. Instead, he watched her disappear from his sight, curling his thin lips with amusement.
...
Chloe returned home. She rented an apartment, living all by herself.
She sat on the bed and began to think. The conversation with that man fell apart today. She must find another way to save the mentor.
But she didn’t know anyone powerful, so what should she do?
While she was worrying, her phone suddenly rang. There was a call.
It was the mentor calling.
Chloe immediately answered the call, "Hello, mentor, don’t worry, I’m trying to figure out a way. I will figure something out to solve this..."
"Chloe," the mentor interrupted her, happily, "The issue here has been resolved."
"What?" Chloe stiffened, "Mentor, is it true? How could it be resolved all of a sudden?"
"I don’t know, someone just came over and resolved it. They even apologized for mishandling it earlier and scaring us and compensated us with some money. Chloe, we thought you’d handled it."
Chloe was completely unprepared for this matter to be resolved so smoothly and so well. Who could it be?
Could it be... that man?
Besides him, there was no one else.
