Chapter 1559: Chapter 1559: Daddy and Mommy Don’t Love Him

Yes, in these three years the situation had changed a lot. Morgan Ashworth and Willow Crawford’s eldest brother had shaken hands and made peace, each ruling their own domain, and Morgan Ashworth was already the president.

Caden didn’t dare reveal his dad’s identity, so he said, "My daddy is... a very powerful man!"

The little kids immediately retorted, "Caden, are you bragging? Just how powerful is your daddy? Is he as powerful as our president?"

"Yeah, Caden, all those powerful people I see on TV are so old, the youngest is over fifty. Haha, Caden, is your daddy an old grandpa?"

Even though Caden felt no affection at all for that daddy of his, pride still overflowed from his delicate, fair little features. "My daddy is really young. He’s the most... handsome and stylish man I’ve ever seen in this whole world!"

His tone was so firm and forceful that the other kids didn’t know how to argue back, but they still didn’t believe Caden’s daddy could be that amazing. If he was that great, he could just be the president!

Their current President Ashworth was super amazing.

"Caden, what about your mommy then, what kind of person is your mommy?" someone asked.

Mommy?

The word stabbed deep into Caden’s young heart. His little face, which had been all bright and lively, quickly wilted. Yeah... what kind of person was his mommy?

He had never once seen his mommy.

"My mommy is... the most beautiful and gentle woman in the world. She’ll make lots of yummy food for me, she’ll hold me while I sleep, she’ll sing children’s songs to me. Most importantly, every time my daddy hits me, my mommy will protect me. My mommy would never let Daddy hit me."

This was the mommy Caden imagined. His mommy was the best mommy in the whole world. If Mommy were here, Daddy wouldn’t hit him anymore, because Mommy would protect him.

He had grown up without a mommy, but there was a mommy living in his heart.

He loved his mommy.

...

The day passed quickly, and when kindergarten was over, Caden walked toward the school gate. A group of little kids gathered around behind him, all chattering nonstop.

"Caden, where’s your daddy? School’s over now, your daddy should come pick you up, right? We all want to see that super powerful, handsome daddy of yours."

"Yeah, Caden, today is your first day of kindergarten, your daddy and mommy should both be here, right? Your daddy’s so handsome, your mommy’s so nice, we can’t wait to meet them."...

Caden ignored them and walked out the gate.

A black sedan was parked by the roadside. Mrs. Webb ran over from a distance. "Young Master, school’s out! Was your first day fun? Did you make any good friends?"

"Mm-hm," Caden nodded. "A lot of kids want to be good friends with me."

"That’s good. Let’s go home." Mrs. Webb took Caden’s small hand.

Then Caden heard a wave of disappointed voices behind him, all the kids talking at once.

"Is that Caden’s grandma? Why didn’t his daddy and mommy come?"

"On our first day of kindergarten, our daddies and mommies all brought us. This day is a really important one worth remembering, our daddies and mommies have to be there. But Caden only has his grandma. Do you think maybe his daddy and mommy don’t love him?"...

Caden got into the car,

He looked at Mrs. Webb. "Grandma Pace, where’s my daddy? Today’s my first day of kindergarten, why didn’t he come?"
