Chapter 1321: Chapter 1320
The middle-aged woman arguing with the young girl was the same woman who got into a spat with Lin Fan at Mortal Airport. She truly had a fiery temper, always capable of picking fights wherever she went.
This time, Lin Fan didn’t bother with her. Thankfully, her argument attracted the attention of everyone, including the flight attendants, allowing Lin Fan to quietly get up and tail the gentleman toward the cockpit.
The seat Wei Yue’er purchased for Lin Fan was in economy class because first class on this flight was already fully booked. Lin Fan was in a hurry to get to the United Kingdom, so he had no choice but to sit in economy class. He didn’t mind this at all; it was his first time flying, and he didn’t know the difference between economy and first class. To him, having a seat was enough.
Passing through the economy class area, one crosses a door to reach first class. Typically, economy class passengers are not allowed to enter first class without good reason, as it’s important to maintain the experience for first-class passengers.
Our world adheres to the 80/20 rule. For instance, out of ten people, only two are wealthy, while the remaining eight are poor. An airplane is a microcosm of this world, divided into a minority first class and the majority economy class. Economy passengers receive standard service and are not allowed into first class to avoid disrupting the high-quality experience of first-class passengers.
Universal equality for all is but an ideal state. Even a small airplane already delineates human inequality with stark clarity.
Just then, led by a flight attendant, a gentleman originally in economy class entered first class. The curtain that separated these two worlds of different ranks was pulled aside and then closed again.
Lin Fan followed to the curtain, slightly parting it with his hand, and saw the flight attendant lead the gentleman through first class to a man waiting for them on the other side.
From the man’s attire, it was clear he was a flight attendant.
The flight attendant and the gentleman exchanged a few words before guiding him through the door nearby, likely a crew rest area.
Once they were inside, Lin Fan couldn’t know what was happening. He was contemplating whether to follow them.
"What are you doing here?"
Suddenly, someone spoke behind Lin Fan.
Lin Fan turned around to see a flight attendant standing behind him. The flight attendant had indeed noticed him. Lin Fan recognized her as Little Yi from earlier.
Lin Fan said with a smile, "Oh, it’s you. I was just trying to use the restroom. The restrooms on that side are all occupied, so I thought I’d check this side."
Little Yi also recognized Lin Fan and furrowed her brows, "Didn’t you just use the restroom not long ago?"
Little Yi thought to herself that Lin Fan might have kidney issues. Such a young and handsome man, it was a bit pitiful.
Lin Fan explained, "It’s because I drank too much water."
Little Yi blushed. So that was it; he drank too much water. What was she thinking? She said, "The first class restroom is for first class passengers. You can’t use it."
Lin Fan said, "I know, but I’m really desperate, almost about to wet myself. Miss, you’re such a kind person. Could you please help me out?"
With Lin Fan complimenting her like that, Little Yi felt really good. She had helped Lin Fan before, rescuing him from a burly man, which made her feel a sense of responsibility towards him, gaining a sense of accomplishment. Now, Lin Fan was asking for her help again, and it was hard for her to refuse because if she did, she wouldn’t feel that sense of achievement again.
Though generally, the first class restroom isn’t for economy passengers, Lin Fan’s situation was special, and letting him use it briefly should be fine.
Little Yi glanced around. Her colleagues were all busy, and no one was watching this area.
Little Yi said, "Go ahead, but come out quickly."
Lin Fan grinned, "Thank you, Miss. You’re not only beautiful but also kind."
After speaking, Lin Fan pushed aside the curtain and walked into first class.
Walking through first class, Lin Fan glanced back. The curtain was already down, and Little Yi wasn’t looking at him. His eyes caught sight of the room where the gentleman and the flight attendant had entered, which had a slightly ajar door.
Lin Fan crept up, trying to peek through the crack.
The room was in disarray; clearly, a fight had broken out earlier. A man was tied to a chair, handcuffed, with fresh wounds on his face.
Turns out he had fought with the gentleman, who had been injured by him, but in turn, the gentleman subdued him and he was being held by the flight attendant.
At the moment, the gentleman was talking to the man while the flight attendant and that particular flight attendant stood by.
"I’ve told you, I’m not the person you’re looking for. I’m innocent. You’re wasting your time!" the man insisted.
The gentleman replied, "If you weren’t, why did you suddenly lash out when we asked you questions?"
The man responded, "I was just defending myself. Who knows what you were planning to do?"
The gentleman was getting impatient. "It’s best if you honestly answer my questions. What are you going to the United Kingdom for?"
The man answered, "I already said, I’m going on a trip."
The gentleman replied, "You’re lying!"
The man said, "I told you, but you didn’t believe me, so what can I do?"
The gentleman stated, "I might as well be upfront with you; I’m a detective specializing in criminology. I can tell when someone’s lying. I’ve monitored all the passengers, and your behavior was the most suspicious. Who exactly are you?" fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
Lin Fan thought to himself, huh, this gentleman is actually an old detective. What’s really going on here?
The man scoffed, "Detective, are you really going to waste time on me?"
The gentleman said, "If you don’t want to waste time, just answer my questions honestly."
The man declared, "I’ll be honest with you; no matter who you’re looking for, you’ve got the wrong person. It’s really not me. I don’t know what I’ve done wrong. I’m just an ordinary passenger. You don’t have the right to detain me, you’d better let me go immediately!"
The gentleman replied, "Stop fooling me. An ordinary passenger with a knife? Tell me, how did such an ordinary passenger get through security? How did you bring a knife onto the plane?"
The man answered, "I can’t say."
The gentleman asked, "Why not?"
The man said, "If I tell you, will you let me go?" frёewebηovel.cѳm
The gentleman replied, "It depends on what you say. If it proves you’re innocent, we’ll naturally release you."
The man said, "I found the knife on the ground after passing through security."
The gentleman became angry, "Do you think I’ll believe you? I’ll ask you again, how did the knife get onto the plane? What are you really doing flying to the United Kingdom? I might as well tell you, carrying dangerous items is enough to have you deported!"
To this, the man laughed.
"What are you laughing at?" the flight attendant beside him asked.
The man chuckled, "Detective, if you continue wasting time on me, you might not have the chance to deport me. Instead of wasting time, you should hurry up and do what you’re supposed to do. Time isn’t on your side."
As he spoke, the man lifted his eyes, looking at the gentleman with a teasing gaze.
