Chapter 186: A little fun on Irellan
The Ssi-ruu were in shock for a moment as they were just being told that the planet was being invaded by these tall powerful purple aliens, and now one of them was standing in front of all of them.
Snapping back to reality, one of the Ssi-ruu grabbed their weapon and was about to run at Daimon, but he was hit by an invisible force and thrown against the wall.
Daimon didn’t stop here; he grabbed the nearest Ssi-ruu and used their body to beat the other Ssi-ruu. It was a massacre as he swung the Ssi-ruu’s body around the room and used his fist to punch the others.
When the last one tried to make a break for the alarm panel, Daimon pointed his finger and flicked upward. The Ssi-ruu rose six feet into the air, slammed into the ceiling, then fell limp to the floor.
In about a minute, Daimon had cleared the room leaving only him standing. He wiped the blood off his sleeve armor, then walked to the center of the room.
There, a war console flickered with a rather primitive hologram view of the city. The hologram didn’t show real-time battle data which was probably one of the reasons the Ssi-ruu couldn’t mount a good defense.
Seeing as there was not much gather from the console, Daimon walked outside where he saw thousands of drop pods slamming into the perimeter around the command tower and city.
Looking over the side towards the ground, Daimon saw the entire ground filled with Ssi-ruu who were running all over the place. He saw groups running to fight the Ascendants who came out of the drop pods, while others ran to the edge city where Ascendants, tanks, and other vehicles were advancing.
Overhead, a cruiser had entered orbit and was heading to a holding position over the city. It would provide close range support with its turbolaser batteries, gunships, and fighter-bombers.
Seeing Daimon standing on an outside balcony from the command tower, one of the Ssi-ruu fighters turned directly toward him. The pilot kept flying towards Daimon with the intention of kamikaze piloting right into him.
But the pilot’s plans were thwarted when everything suddenly went black for him. His fighter was completely crushed with the force and then thrown to the ground, killing 12 more Ssi-ruu who were running around.
"That’s unfortunate." Daimon said to himself. He then jumped down towards the ground and landed where the crashed fighter was.
The surrounding Ssi-ruu turned, saw him, and immediately ran towards him while shooting at him. Daimon put his hand up, blocking all the shots, while maneuvering through the crowd of Ssi-ruu and eliminating them.
The Ssi-ruu tried their best by shooting him, swinging their blades, and using their claws. But nothing worked, and Daimon hasn’t even drawn his lightsaber yet.
Instead, he fought with his hands, gripping the limbs and throwing bodies at the other Ssi-ruu running at him.
Through this, he started to see the hierarchy that the Ssi-ruu had. Some of them wore rough, battered armor of regular frontline troops. Others, known as the Zystra, wore the ornate golden plates and ceremonial weapons of the Ssi-ruu nobility.
To Daimon the difference was only which one looked better. Combat wise, they were both weak in his eyes.
One of the Zystra tried to flank him, but a single backhand from Daimon broke its jaw. He spun another one around by the tail, slamming it through two of its comrades. Every third or fourth Ssi-ruu he grabbed, he simply lobbed them towards the sky.
Throughout the city center, hidden artillery batteries fired off bursts of electro-plasma bolts that detonated among the advancing Ascendants. The explosions faded into blue cloudbursts, stinging but not stopping the Ascendants who were moving extremely fast toward the command tower.
Daimon moved toward where the artillery was firing, leaping over barricades and running through the blast radius of the artillery.
The Ssi-ruu engineer at the location of the artillery battery watched Daimon approaching with mounting horror. And his horror only increased as once Daimon reached the gun emplacement, he casually ripped the barrel off with his bare hands, tossing it aside "The Imperium sends its regards," he said, then picked up the engineer by the throat and used him, who was screaming, to beat the other Ssi-ruu away from control panel.
With these artillery batteries now disabled, the main Ssi-ruu military encampment was insight. It was a section of the city that had been turned into heavily fortified military base with defense turrets and automated sentry guns. It was the hardest last line of defense that they needed to break.
Crowne had his tanks hammering the outside while he sent Ascendants to take out the remaining resistance on the rooftops.
Inside of the military encampment, hundreds of thousands of Ssi-ruu had barricaded themselves behind makeshift shields. Their Supreme Commander coordinated the defense while his most trusted bodyguards gathered around him.
Daimon had finally met up with High Ascendant Crowne who placed his fist across his chest and got on one knee to salute the Emperor. Around him, the Ascendants were all standing at attention.
"At ease everybody" said Daimon causing everybody to relax a little.
"What’s the plan to breach their encampment Crowne?" Daimon asked.
"We plan to shell them from the outside with our tanks, then use bombers to thin out their numbers. Once that is done, I will send ground troops to mop them up. Unless you have something, you want to do sir." explained Crowne.
The plan was straightforward, simple, and effective. But Daimon did in fact have something he wanted to do. freёwebnovel.com
"Yeah, I got something I could do to make the process faster. Just wait for the big explosion." said Daimon as he created a Force portal which appeared high in the sky above the military encampment.
Normally he doesn’t use the Force portal ability in front of others, but the Ascendants are sworn to secrecy so anything he does would stay among them.
Stepping through the portal, he began a free fall right on top of the military encampment. In his hand, he started to gather the Force around him, creating a sort of aura.
He kept falling, while his speed increased until he crashed right in the middle of the encampment, creating something akin to a nuclear explosion. Daimon had sensed that some slaves were being held within the center, so he created Force barriers around their bodies, to protect them from the impact.
The impact completely evaporated the center of the encampment and everybody except for the slaves in it. Any building, Ssi-ruu, or vehicle was wiped out. The impact spread throughout the entire encampment, stopping just at the walls of the encampment.
The Ssi-ruu stood no chance. There was nothing they could do to stop the Force or even survive it. But what could they have done without it?
The answer is nothing. The battlefield was Daimon’s playground and the Ssi-ruu are the toys.
Seeing this magnificent impact, the Ascendants all started cheering. It’s not every day you get to witness the Emperor on the battlefield. Nor was it every day that you got to see something similar to what just happened.
In the middle of the encampment, Daimon stood up and looked around him. He saw some stunned Varraxian slaves who were confused as everything around them had disappeared within a second, leaving nothing around them.
Eventually, their eyes landed on Daimon who had walked up to them and reached his hand out. The Varraxian’s knew who the Gen’Dai were, but they did not know why they were here. Still, they grabbed Daimon’s hand as they knew that the Imperium must have been here to help them.
"Thank you, sir," said one of the slaves as Daimon helped them up one by one.
Outside the encampment, High Ascendant Crowne had already ordered the Ascendants to storm the encampment to mop up any remaining Ssi-ruu that may have survived, but there weren’t any remaining.
From there, Daimon turned the slaves over to Crowne who had transported them to one of the cities that were already liberated so that they could be safe from the war and receive any medical care that they needed.
From there, Daimon went around the planet fighting with the Ascendants for the next few days before returning to Veldari.
