He turned toward the bed, Eva in hand, and stood there for a moment in his own bedroom like he was mentally preparing a speech.
"Okay," he said. "So. This is a field test."
He nodded at nothing.
"Virgin’s Touch. I need to know the full range of its applications. Responsible system usage. That’s what this is."
He sat down on the edge of the mattress. The springs creaked. He winced at the sound for no reason.
"I’m being thorough," he added. "Any serious hunter would do the same."
His ears were hot. He was aware of that. He pushed forward anyway.
"For the system," he said, with the energy of a man saluting before a battle he had invented himself. Then he laid back.
[...Player is genuinely doing this.]
David’s eye twitched. "I felt that."
[The System is not judging.]
"You are absolutely judging."
[The System is merely observing that Player, having this very morning experienced his First Conquest with a grown woman of considerable experience, has returned home and is now —]
"Finish that sentence and I will find a way to uninstall you."
[...The System will be quiet.]
"Thank you."
[Though for the record —]
"Eva." David held her up slightly. "Meet the system. System, this is Eva. She doesn’t talk back. I find that very refreshing right now."
A long pause.
[The System wishes Player the best.]
"Get out of my head."
[Technically impossible.]
"Then go to a corner of it and stay there."
He took a breath. Reset. Refocused.
The Quest threshold. This was a perfectly logical decision made by a rational person with clear goals and absolutely no other options whatsoever.
With that affirmation, he got to work.

David exhaled at the ceiling. Genuinely surprised at how fast that had come.
He continued his loving work with Eva, lewdly utilizing her suctioning skills to please himself. For the sake of the system, ofcourse.

He didn’t just stop in one or two goes. He went on and on, until sometime had finally passed through.
Luckily the system, who had been uncharacteristically silent, finally intervened after his last climax.
[The System would like to take a moment to reflect.]
"Huh? What’s all this?" David scowled.
[Player began this day by achieving his First Conquest with an actual woman. Who was physically present. Player then recieved one hundred dollars, and skills. And Player has chosen to commemorate this historic first day by spending the night alone with a toy.]
"You say that like I’m doing a bad thing."
David leaned back, completely unbothered. "I’m just using the skills you gave me. So in case you’re wondering — I have no regrets."
[Player has zero regrets.]
"Zero." He didn’t even blink. "My Penile Strength stat is going up. That’s what matters. You should be proud."
[Player is aware that there was a real woman available earlier today.]
David’s eye twitched. Just slightly.
"Okay, first of all —" he pointed at the notification like it had personally offended him —
"We didn’t have time. That wasn’t on me. And if I had more time and this skill, I would have gone a few more rounds. But did I?" He spread his hands wide, the gesture of a man fully at peace with his choices. "No, but I tried, I went two rounds straight. Where’s my praise for that?"
[No praise exists for that.]
"Unbelievable." He shook his head slowly, like a man betrayed by his own government. "You track every embarrassing thing I do but you can’t give me credit for the one time I pulled off a feat. And I had no viagra on, BTW!"
[Does that response help you feel better?]
David opened his mouth. Closed it. A laugh slipped out before he could stop it — the kind that comes out when something is too stupid to be funny but somehow is anyway.
"Can you just let me beat my meat in peace?"
With the system notification gone, the room settled back into its natural state of near-total darkness.
There was no light source in the room now — but the neighboring houses that actually paid their electricity bills were generous enough to bleed a faint glow through the curtains, and the moon, unbothered by the city’s problems, cast its pale light across the floor in long, quiet strips.
It was, objectively, a very romantic atmosphere for what David had going on.
"Thank you," he muttered, to the cosmic force had finally gotten out of his business.
He directed his gaze back down to Eva, who remained exactly where he had left her — patient, loyal, nestled right at the tip of his length like she had nowhere else to be and no complaints about it.
David rolled his shoulders and cracked his neck once.
"Oh yeah, baby." A slow, satisfied grin spread across his face. "Where were we?"
His hand was already moving. Fingers drifting toward her on switch with the calm confidence of a man who was receiving what he had sowed.
Until —
Vibrate.
Vibrate.
David’s hand stopped.
The sound was faint — muffled, distant, coming from somewhere beneath the pile of clothes he had dumped in the corner earlier. His trousers, specifically, which were doing a terrible job of hiding the dim pulse of a screen lighting up through the fabric.
He stared at the pile.
The pile stared back.
’Somebody,’ David thought slowly, ’is texting me. At this hour?’
He looked back at Eva. Eva said nothing. She never did. That was one of her best qualities.
He looked back at the pile. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ
The phone buzzed again.
"Just a moment," he said to Eva, out loud, with complete sincerity as he romantically ran a finger through her artificial lips, the universal symbol of I have not forgotten about you.
Then he stood up, in all his glory, and walked across the room.
He fished his phone out from under the trouser leg, squinted at the screen as his eyes adjusted, found the notification — and read it.
One word.
Holly=> Hey.
Holly=> You up?
