Chapter 27: Hell Mode Dungeon!
Andrew’s growl echoed through the cavern walls, bad things kept happening to him left and right without a chance to breathe. He just wanted to go back to Blue Ocean Planet and rest.
He had already fought a dragonkin, survived a Pseudo-Legend attack, killed his own mirror image, and now the dungeon was on Hell Mode!? What was next? Would the system randomly delete his inventory while he slept?
His blade lit up with a faint red glow, and he saw that at the entrance of the cave, the path forked into three different tunnels, reeking of rotting meat and rat feces.
The left tunnel sloped downward, disappearing into pitch blackness. The middle tunnel was the widest, with deep claw marks gouged into the walls and the strongest stench emanating from within. The right tunnel was the narrowest, but more than wide enough for a person to walk through.
Andrew glanced forward and saw the girl already standing over the corpses of a small group of Grey-Rats she had slaughtered.
Golden flames still flickered on their charred bodies, and the smell of burnt fur filled the air ss she waited on him.
The girl blinked her golden eyes and immediately started shuffling her feet nervously, her fingers fiddling with the shaft of her spear again, as she asked in a tiny, hesitant voice, "W-which path should we take first?" free𝑤ebnovel.com
Andrew looked at her from the corner of his eyes. Anytime he looked at her, he felt a urge to drag his blade across her neck and extract that Primordial Bloodline she carried. It was like standing next to a gold mine with a pickaxe in your hand and being told you couldn’t dig.
But right now, she still had some use. Two people could cover more ground than one, and if the Grey Rat King proved too powerful, she could serve as a distraction while he either fought or fled.
"What’s your deal anyways?"
Andrew asked as he wondered how she got here.
The girl heard his words and her eyes flickered with pure hatred.
"I formed a team with six other Supernal students. Instead of escaping to the beginner village, we planned to come here and clear the dungeon and claim the Treasure chest and reputation points."
She clenched ber fist in anger. "But what we didnt know was that the rats were an entire swarm. Even if we had high rank talents, we are still level one Ultras, there’s no way we could battle hundreds of level 1 beast. Eventually, we were overrun."
The golden haired girl let out a hit breath of air. "The others used us as bait and fled while I, Jordan and Mice were left behind to be eaten by this disgusting creatures.
Andrew blinked his eyes. He pitied her slightly. She thought she could trust her teammates, only to be bested by them. The other two Ultras died , leaving only her alive.
It seemed the Supernal Class weren’t as overpowered as he thought.
His eyes dropped to the spear in her hand. It was full of cracks. The golden flames were doing more damage to the weapon than the fighting the Grey-Rats. It was clearly a low-tier starter item that couldn’t handle the output of a Primordial Bloodline.
Andrew reached into his inventory and pulled out Elyssa’s spear. It had been forged from a Bronze Treasure Chest and reinforced by Elyssa’s own flames, making it stronger, sharper, and more durable than any tutorial weapon.
"This weapon has been refined and is a lot stronger than the tutorial spear."
The girl raised her head, and her eyes lit up like two suns as she saw the dark, elegant spear. She reached out her hand with surprising speed, as though Andrew would change his mind at any second.
Her fingers closed around the shaft, feeling the weight and balance of the weapon.
She lovingly glanced at the spear, running her fingers along the dark metal, then took a quick look at Andrew. Her face flushed red from her neck to the tips of her ears as her golden wings fluttered slightly behind her in embarrassment.
"T-thank you," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
Andrew rolled his eyes. "I’m not doing it for you. A broken weapon in a Hell Mode dungeon is a liability. I’m not carrying dead weight."

A notification popped up.
A smile tugged at the corner of Andrew’s lips.
His investment worked, then chose to let the question remain hanging in his mind. He might need it for emergencies as a sudden quality upgrade or a burst of investment points at a critical moment could be the difference between life and death. There was no need to waste it now.
He pointed at the path to the right. "We don’t have much time, so it’s best we split up. You go to the right, I’ll go left. If we still can’t rescue the kids, we both come back here in five minutes and take the middle path."
Andrew thought quickly and formulated the plan. If one of them found the kids, they could start the rescue immediately.
The girl’s face scrunched up in worry. Her eyebrows knitted together, and her lips pursed into a small pout. "W-will you be alright?"
Andrew’s ass cheeks trembled. ’Was she calling him weak with style? As expected, this girl is not a good person. First she steals my Golden Dragon Bloodline, now she’s implying I can’t handle myself!?’
He shrugged his shoulders and spoke drily. "I’ll be alright."
"O-okay," she nodded quickly. Then, as if a terrible thought had just occurred to her, she added, "I-if you meet the Grey-Rat King, you can slow it down by feeding it one of the kids, then call for me through the team communications. I will come immediately."
Andrew’s face went completely blank. He stared at her with a mixture of expressions.
After a moment, Andrew smiled awkwardly.
"There’s no need for that," He waved his hand dismissively. He turned and started walking down the left path without looking back.
The girl was slightly embarrassed, whether it was from her suggestion or from his rejection, it was hard to tell. She nodded her head rapidly like a woodpecker, making her golden hair bounce.
"I will do as you say then. Five minutes."
As Andrew walked down the left path, he carefully glanced back over his shoulder. He waited until the golden glow of her flames disappeared down the right tunnel, then wiped a cold sweat off his forehead.
