Chapter 16: Kills

Amon didn’t stop killing in the slightest, rather, he was like a grim reaper, sweeping through the battle field with brutal efficiency.

Amon’s next target were the three assassins lurking in the shadows.

Due to his speed which was far greater than theirs, he quickly locked onto a shadow nearby.

Boom!

A sword pierced through the ground.

A damage number flashed above his head.

-30.

Along with the damage number, the shadow dispersed revealing a pale faced young man.

Bang!

The young man was instantly pierced once more by the sword, dying instantly.

The other shadows had already gotten as far away as they could from the fight.

However, they coincidentally fell into the hands of the remaining weaker beasts which were lurking nearby.

An iron fang wolf pounced on one of the shadows.

Damage numbers flashed repeatedly above his head as the iron fang wolf tore through his defenses, pulling him out from the shadow and killing him instantly.

Normally, assassins had the ’stealth’ skill which they used to hide in the shadows, however whenever they were disrupted, the skill instantly got deactivated, hence the reason why they had been easily locked onto and killed.

The remaining assassin was even more unlucky.

A branch struck the shadowy location he hid and as soon as he materialized, a snake coiled itself around him, tightening its waist and splitting him in two.

Bang!

The assassin exploded.

He was killed instantly due to the terrifying attack.

Only the leader and the healer were remaining.

Amon turned his attention to towards them immediately.

The leader’s eyes were filled with despair, and only regret clung to his heart.

If he had known, he wouldn’t have provoked Amon in the slightest!

Unfortunately, there was no medicine for regret...

Gritting his teeth he tried to struggle.

"Weaver, don’t push me too far!"

Amon swung his blade, repeatedly.

Damage numbers applied above his head and he was killed within seconds.

Boom!

A burst of white light erupted, and he vanished.

Amon finally shifted his attention to the healer.

There was only one reason why he’d saved her for last.

[Please choose the prefix you want to extract.]

[Weak, healer, weak warrior.]

Amon took a deep breath.

’Goddess of luck... please favor me...’

He muttered to himself and gave the order.

’System, extract the ’healer’ prefix.’

His heart rate increased slightly the moment he gave the order.

Surprisingly... the system didn’t chose to be a b’tch this time.

[Prefix extracted. Do you wish to assign to Serrated Mantis Blade?]

’It really extracted!’ Amon’s heart was filled with excitement.

Without hesitation he agreed and assigned the prefix to the serrated Mantis Blade.

Amon waited for someething to happen but nothing happened after a few seconds.

A wry sigh excaped his lips.

’Seems I’d have to discover the effect of the prefix on my own’

He was curious how the healer’s prefix would work together with Serrated Mantis Blade, but he would have to put his curiousity asside for now.

He glanced at the remaining prefix the healer possesed, but none of them seemed useful aside from the Warrior’s prefix.

’System extract the warrior prefix.’

[Ding! Congratulations, Extraction failed, please select another Prefix.]

Amon was already more than satisfied with the healer’s prefix so he wasnt too bothered after failing to extract the warrior’s prefix.

He raised his blade, ready to end the healer’s life.

She looked up at him with pale, trembling eyes filled with despair.

"Fellow brother please stay your hand." A loud voice exploded into the surroundings, ringing in everyone’s ears.

The sharp sound of something bursting through the forest nearby at a rapid pace echoed.

Amon turned in the direction and noticed the sihoulette of a young man.

Of course he would listen to the words of the other party.

Bang!

His sword descended and she was instantly killed.

A glow of surprise appeared on Amon’s face as he felt a trickle of energy enter into his body.

’This is...’ frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓

Amon’s thoughts spun and he quickly made his assumptions.

If his guess wasnt then, for every person he killed with the serrated Mantis blade, he gained a portion of their health.

He pulled his status and noticed that his health points had increased by 10 points.

’Still as mysterious as ever.’ Amon muttered to himself with a smile.

The uniqueness of seeing what effects a new, abstract prefix would bring always kept his heart racing!

Boom!

A figure burst through the clearing and finally landed.

Amon narrowed his eyes suspiciously, already on high alert as he glanced in the direction to see who it was.

Surprisingly it was a young man with long blue hair that shimmered faintly, and light brown eyes which contained a hint of anger within them as he stared at amon.

"You killed them all?" he asked, clentching his teeth.

"They attacked me first." Amon said simply.

"An so? You should have just thought them a lesson and that was it. There was no need to kill fellow humans."

Amon glanced at him as though he was staring at an idiot.

He couldnt be bothered to explain the reasons for his actions!

Jason stared at Amon and a spear appeared in his grasp, he seemed ready to attack at any moment.

In the group chat, he had promised to come and rescue the group if they could hold on, only for the notifications of their deaths to flash consistently in the announcements.

Initially, he thought it was because they couldn’t hold on and the beasts were just too terrifying, who would have expected that it was a fellow human that was killing them?

Amon noticed the killing intent in the young man’s eyes.

He didnt mind adding another person to his kill list.

He raised his sword similarly and the two stared against each other, sparks igniting outwardly.

Just as they two were about to fight, a sharp roar tore through the surroundings.

The second half had arrived, and the beasts were no longer taking things lightly.

Within seconds, more than ten rank 3 beasts surrounded both amon and jason.

More players were still arriving as well, and a few could be seen standing at the edge of the barrier, hesitating on whether to enter or not.
