Chapter 95: Treasure Chest

The Last Chapter has been fixed !

....

"Learn this," Zich said.

The scroll dissolved into soft light and entered Slimy. The little slime trembled once before bouncing in place, as if it had just understood something new.

[Vital Surge Lv.1 learned]

Zich nodded once. ƒгeewebnovёl.com

"Use it on me."

Slimy wobbled seriously before pale red light covered Zich’s body. His wounds did not close completely, but his body felt firmer, and the heavy weakness in his limbs eased a little.

"Good," Zich said.

Slimy bounced happily despite the dangerous fight nearby.

Zich opened his attribute panel again and looked at the twenty five free points. After the Tiamant problem, the Elite Undead Knight cost, and the number of times he had nearly run out of mana, the answer was obvious.

He put twenty points into Intelligence.

A strong cool sensation spread through his head and chest as his mana pool expanded. He left five points untouched because keeping emergency points had already saved him before.

His mana points were now a whopping 370, and his Intelligence was now 37.

"That should make things less irritating," he muttered.

The Skeletal Warden suddenly roared without sound and charged forward. Its greatsword came down toward the Elite Undead Knight’s shoulder with enough force to split the armor apart.

Zich activated Blink.

FWOOSH!!!

He appeared beside the Warden’s right knee and swung his sword upward.

"Blood Arc."

FWOOOSH!!!

The red slash cut through the joint and forced the Warden’s leg to bend. At the same time, the Elite Undead Knight raised its black sword and used Black Cleave.

BOOOOM!!!

The blow struck the Warden’s chest and cracked the dark breastplate open. Slimy immediately spat poison into the gap, and smoke burst from the damaged armor.

The Warden staggered.

Zich stepped in again, poured more mana into his blade, and released an overcharged Blood Arc at close range.

CRACK!!!

The slash tore through the cracked armor and split the core hidden behind its ribs. The blue light in the Warden’s eye sockets flickered twice before going out.

Its body collapsed into scattered bones.

A dark spirit orb rose from the remains and flew into Zich’s chest.

The familiar cold energy settled inside him, heavier than the weaker skeletons from before. He smiled faintly and looked toward the door behind the chamber.

The old stone door slowly opened. Cold air rolled out from beyond it. Zich adjusted the Blood Knight Commander Cloak around his shoulders and looked at Slimy and the Elite Undead Knight.

"We go deeper," he said.

Slimy bounced once, while the Elite Undead Knight silently stepped ahead with its sword raised, eyes sharp and looking for its next prey.

Time was running out, and Zich wanted to make full use of the headband before it ran out. He had lost count of how many skeletons he had killed during this time.

And he had created about five more undead skeletons who acted as disposable meat shields. Another reason he created them was for the sole purpose of renting them out.

Although they were weak compared to the Elite Undead Knight, they were still far stronger than anything a normal necromancer could summon.

It was another product the marketplace would go crazy for!

Zich continued to push deep into the Undead Crypt, through chambers and corridors that twisted in impossible directions. The dungeon seemed to expand the deeper he went, as if it were alive and growing. He had encountered more Elite Wardens, a pair of Skeletal Mages that cast bolts of necrotic energy, and even a giant construct made of fused bones that took both the Knight and all five skeleton soldiers working together to bring down.

But he was getting stronger. His mana regeneration had improved. His stats had grown. And the Necrotic Resistance was making the crypt’s atmospheric damage almost negligible.

He sat in a cleared chamber, gulping down a mana potion dropped by a monster.

Suddenly, his lucky headband gave a soft hum again. Zich’s eyes lit up as a message flashed before him.

[Ding! Tip: Search the dungeon for a treasure chest]

"Treasure chests? Damn, so this headband could even give me tips on how to find treasure." Zich was impressed.

But his excitement lasted for a few seconds before he remembered that there were only a few hours left, and his expression became sad.

He was beginning to miss the headband before it even disappeared.

For now, he shifted his focus to what was important.

He had been so focused on grinding skeletons and building his resistance that he hadn’t thought about searching the dungeon for anything beyond monsters. He had assumed the Undead Crypt was a straightforward killing field.

But if there were treasure chests hidden in its depths...

"Then I’ve been leaving loot on the table," he said, standing up.

He looked at the corridor ahead. The crypt extended further than he had explored. There were side passages, collapsed sections, and rooms he had bypassed in favor of maintaining the grinding momentum.

He dismissed his summons except for the Elite Undead Knight.

"Time to do some real exploring."

The next few hours were spent methodically searching every side passage and alcove he had previously ignored.

He found nothing at first. Just more skeletons. More bones. More dust.

But then he noticed something.

A section of the wall that didn’t match the others. The carvings were different, older and more intricate. And there was a faint draft coming from a hairline crack in the stone.

Zich pressed his hand against it.

The wall didn’t budge. He stepped back. Looked at it. Then looked at the Elite Undead Knight standing behind him.

"Break it down."

The knight stepped forward, raised its sword, and struck.

The wall cracked. Another strike. It crumbled.

Beyond it was a narrow passage, descending deeper than anything Zich had seen so far. The air coming out of it was freezing cold and heavy with the smell of ancient death, older and denser than the rest of the crypt.

[Hidden Chamber Discovered]

Zich grinned.

"Jackpot."
