Chapter 2006: Chapter 2010: Sneak Attack?
The group was originally in a serious military analysis meeting led by Qin Tian, when Chen Jingsi suddenly burst in, causing everyone to be taken aback.
Because the other Qin Family army guards knew that Chen Jingsi was like a sister to Qin Tian, even after trying to stop her a number of times, they dared not obstruct her further, allowing the little Witch to break in.
Not only did she break in, she even started calculating with her fingers, which left everyone feeling extremely awkward.
"You better stop with your calculations, quickly go out and rest, we’re having a meeting here."
Seeing everyone looking at Chen Jingsi, Qin Tian pouted and instructed the soldiers to take her out.
"I really calculated that they will come for a surprise attack, Qin Tian, I’ve learned this from my master, don’t you believe me?"
While being escorted out, Chen Jingsi stared at Qin Tian and said.
"King Qin, let’s continue our discussion. The probability of the Barbarian Clan launching a surprise attack is extremely low. From the information we’ve received, their reinforcements are over a hundred kilometers away, and the Barbarian Clan should be aware that you have arrived at Nanshui City. If they still dare to launch a surprise attack, wouldn’t that be courting death?"
The Demon Clan commander said to Qin Tian.
Qin Tian smiled faintly and said nothing.
He remembered the bizarre predictions Chen Jingsi made while calculating with her fingers when they returned from Panlong Island to the West State; though she was wrong countless times, among them, there were several times she got it right.
This time, is she just babbling, or has she truly calculated?
"Let’s do it this way, better to be safe than sorry. Tonight, your three thousand men from the Demon Clan, along with our three thousand from the West State, will camp separately, patrol in shifts separately, and increase the number of secret sentries. Expand the scouting range of our scouts," Qin Tian suggested.
"King Qin, is this necessary? The Barbarian Clan really isn’t going to launch a surprise attack..." The Demon Clan commander persisted.
At this point, Qin Tian asserted his authority, speaking sternly: "Sending more scouts is just a matter of adding a hundred or so; it’s not difficult. Just do as I say."
"Alright then..."
After all, Liu Fei’er had given orders for all the Demon Clan to follow Qin Tian’s unified command, so despite hesitating, the commander had to comply.
As night fell, Qin Tian still pondered the possibility of a Barbarian Clan surprise attack and their intentions... He felt something was amiss, especially since the Barbarian Clan, with several tens of thousands of troops, didn’t initiate an attack despite being tens of kilometers away from the Demon Clan army.
Logically, after reinforcing their troops, the Barbarian Clan should be launching massive attacks and expanding aggressively.
"I should take precautions, and at the same time check the terrain."
After much contemplation, at eight in the evening, Qin Tian decided to lead his thousand Qin Family soldiers out of the city under the guise of civilians, ambushing outside the city.
It was a gut feeling, and he chose to trust Chen Jingsi’s finger calculation.
After all, previously, her predictions in war had been quite accurate, twice predicting battles at the front line.
The Qin Family soldiers ambushed ten miles outside Nanshui City, waiting quietly.
Qin Tian, with two guards, surveyed the surrounding terrain.
Nanshui City, located in hilly terrain without mountainous cover, would be difficult to defend against simultaneous air and ground attacks, making Qin Tian somewhat concerned.
He planned to move the main camp out of Nanshui City, seeking a place where they could both attack and defend against the Barbarian Clan.
"King Qin, there’s movement. Over there!"
As Qin Tian gazed up at the bright moon, contemplating where to relocate his main camp, a Qin Family scout approached from afar.
This was a top-level scout sent by Qin Tian, sharper, faster, and with better escape capabilities than average military scouts when discovered by enemies.
"What’s happening? Someone approaching?" Qin Tian asked the scout.
"Yes, a large enemy force might be sneaking over. I spotted six advance enemy scouts from afar; they must be sweeping the area."
Usually, scouts work in pairs, but with six people, it indicates the enemy is extremely cautious, suggesting a large force is trailing behind.
"Let’s move away slowly, make room if anyone comes."
After considering for a moment, Qin Tian decisively commanded.
As they withdrew, Qin Tian spread his Divine Sense, sensing ripples of energy a few kilometers away, suggesting a significant force was approaching stealthily.
Furthermore, these forces seemed to have concealed their presence, with occasional True Qi fluctuations.
"Ha, seems like the little Witch’s finger calculation was right, the Barbarian Clan really is launching a surprise attack."
After relocating to a new hiding spot, Qin Tian couldn’t help but smile, thinking that the Barbarian Clan was truly overestimating themselves. If they wanted to execute a surprise attack, it should have been done before his main force arrived. Now, with his force’s numbers swollen, launching a surprise attack? It was courting death.
It was Qin Tian’s first direct engagement with the Barbarian Clan army, and despite thinking it over, he couldn’t figure out the Barbarian Clan’s tactics.
But then, with his Divine Sense, he began to perceive faint vibrations of the earth. The Barbarian Clan army was approaching from about six or seven miles away.
Before long, as they approached Nanshui City, they failed to notice Qin Tian and his men’s ambush.
"Estimated at forty to fifty thousand, all with concealed presence, moving cautiously."
After a scout survey, he reported back to Qin Tian.
"Forty to fifty thousand, seems they’re planning to wipe us out... Yet, a forty to fifty thousand force attacking a sixty thousand-strong army?"
Qin Tian frowned, pondering.
"No, something’s not right here, there must be a plot..."
With eyes closed and lost in thought, Qin Tian suddenly had a revelation, eyes lighting up: "That’s it, it must be! Otherwise, what are they waiting for? What gives them confidence for a surprise attack? Oh no!"
Realizing something, Qin Tian became slightly flustered, immediately addressing a Qin Family general: "General Sun, you will command the men here, do not act rashly. Wait for my signal. When you see a True Qi Giant Dragon in the sky, commence the attack, understood?"
"King Qin, you want to...?" General Sun was confused.
"Just follow my orders, no questions! I must return to Nanshui City immediately!"
"Understood! Waiting for the True Qi Giant Dragon signal!"
With those words, General Sun looked up to see Qin Tian transforming into a streak of light, rapidly darting towards Nanshui City.
It seemed something major was happening!
