Chapter 99: Chapter 47: LV10 Ree Shil
Ree Shil took the order and headed to the private booth where he often taught classes.
For new members who were contacting him for the first time, he had a set piece.
Knock, knock.
"Hello, I’m Contestant 44, happy to serve you." said Ree
"Please come in."
"?"
He stood at the door and scratched his ear. The voice sounded familiar.
As he opened the door and walked in, he saw a cloak standing in front of a simulated card table.
Black smoke faintly billowed out from underneath the cloak, lingering and not dispersing.
If this wasn’t Black Smoke, who could it be?
"What are you doing here?" he asked.
Ree Shil looked surprised.
"You said you’d charge me to explain why I lost, I assumed this is what you meant."
"I’ve now become a member of your Card Club."
That’s what Black Smoke said.
"..."
Ree Shil was really surprised that after Black Smoke had left the card table he was so straightforward.
But for something like post-match analysis, he often did it during his lessons anyway.
So, quite frankly, he went through the whole finals game from start to finish without holding anything back.
"So you’re saying if I hadn’t been deceived by your stare, and had the [Barbaric Shell Chieftain] perform the AOE right off the bat, my chances of winning could have been greatly improved?"
"Yeah, you could interpret it that way."
"So, do you teach that here... you know, acting."
"..."
Faced with this question, Ree Shil looked at the other party’s face, which was black as soot, and thought that even if he did teach him and he did learn it, it felt like he still wouldn’t be able to use it.
"In fact, if you did not obsess over set cards with your deck so deep, and simply added 7 control cards instead, I might have had an even harder time defeating you."
"Big Brother, do you know what 7 control cards mean? Even I can’t muster that many!"
"Really? It feels like I have quite a few control cards." freeweɓnovel.cѳm
"..."
Now it was Black Smoke’s turn to be speechless.
In his eyes, he saw Ree Shil as a card player who had been chosen by fate.
He called it divine draw, divine shuffle.
Otherwise, there was no way to explain how such a low-level player could pull out a heap of good cards, even B-Class ones.
After the post-match analysis, Black Smoke didn’t really have much else to ask for, so the two of them just chatted casually.
"The key to the Demon Card Instance, you need to use it well."
Black Smoke’s reminder was filled with envy.
"Oh, how so?" asked Ree.
Ree Shil didn’t know what was so special about an instance.
"Before the competition, I did verify it through other channels."
"The Demon Card world accessed by this key is a real scenario, not the projection that we usually experience."
"You can think of it as a key to another world."
If it wasn’t for the requirement at the award ceremony for the key to be tied to the card player right then and there, Black Smoke would have wanted to buy it off Ree Shil on the spot.
"So what you’re saying is..."
Ree Shil still didn’t understand.
"What I’m saying is, you might be able to pick up a series of chained missions in that instance."
"And this chained mission is an inter-instance mission."
"Since it is a real world, if the mission chain cannot be completed in one go, when you enter this world again through another instance, you can pick up where you left off."
"The final reward for this kind of mission is often extremely generous."
That’s what Black Smoke explained.
"So you have unfinished mission chains in that world?"
Ree Shil seemed to have grasped why the other party was so eager for the instance key.
"No, I just want to go there and see a certain person again."
For some reason, when Black Smoke said this, Ree Shil felt that his face was red, even though the other party’s face was completely obscured by black smoke.
As for the Darkfog Clan member he had met in the [Stygian City], he also asked Black Smoke about that.
Unfortunately, Black Smoke didn’t know anything about it.
After all, the Darkfog Clan was huge and based on the red starburst eyes described by Ree Shil, they didn’t belong to the same clan.
After sorting out Black Smoke’s order, Ree Shil went off work and headed home.
The next day was the Card Club’s team-building day.
The Card Club closed for the day, and they boarded two buses and headed to the airport.
This was Ree Shil’s first time on a plane since he traveled through.
In fact, not only him, 95% of the Card Club’s staff had never taken a plane here before.
What he didn’t expect was that, since the technology was more advanced than Blue Star’s, the plane was incredibly fast and stable.
Despite its stability, this new type of plane was quite demanding for first-time riders.
Almost everyone who was riding for the first time ended up throwing up.
Yes, Ree Shil was no exception.
Especially Slame, who was on the verge of turning into a puddle.
He claimed to be a gold member of the Card Club and asked to join the team-building event. Nobody tried to stop him.
The only ones who didn’t get sick from their first plane ride were Mossy Mushroom and Straw Man. It was quite strange to Ree Shil.
They even chatted and laughed as if they had already experienced bigger and more exciting things and saw the plane ride as a small minor inconvenience.
The team-building outing was in a seaside holiday town.
After checking into the hotel, Ree Shil went to the beach with the Mushroom-Grass-Slime trio.
Considering the pleasant weather, it would be a waste not to go swimming at such a fantastic vacation spot.
The hotel was very close to the coastline. All they had to do was walk about twenty or thirty meters from the hotel to reach it.
"I’m not sure if I should say this..."
Ree Shil looked at them and eventually couldn’t resist. freewebnσvel.cøm
"Usually you guys don’t wear clothes, why would you choose to wear clothes at the beach?"
