Chapter 1022: Chapter 375: The Unity of the Seven Dragons

"The pace has been pretty comfortable lately," Ree Shil remarked as he gazed at the S-rank Material Card before him.

Every time he completed an S-rank task, an S-rank Card would be delivered to his door.

With this trend, wouldn’t he have a good chance of collecting a 9+1 S-rank card deck?

Deploying all 10 S-rank Cards, he felt that even without deliberate coordination, he could overwhelm his opponents with sheer power, right?

But that was just wishful thinking, probably only a Divine Deity could muster such a deck.

Even a reincarnated deity tasked with reassembling a card deck might struggle to gather them all.

"Better focus on what’s in front of me now," he decided.

He reached out and picked up the Material Card to examine it closely.

At first glance, the card seemed plain and unremarkable, just the Piece of shackle board that Dragon Martial had previously used to restrain his hands.

But upon closer inspection, one could see the damaged outer layer revealing a jadelike substance beneath.

Only from this aspect could its extraordinary nature be discerned.

Moreover, someone else holding this card might not notice anything special.

But having spent some time with Dragon Martial, Ree Shil could distinctly sense a trace of Dragon Martial’s presence within the card’s projection.

Beyond that, there was another unfamiliar presence.

This alien aura was subtler but more incisive and solid, as if not of this Kung Fu World.

He speculated that perhaps this essence was the reason the card qualified as S-rank.

After all, formidable as Dragon Martial was, in his experience and understanding, he didn’t seem quite on the level of an S-rank performance.

Of course, every world has its own rules and limits, and they shouldn’t be directly compared.

It was just a pure hunch.

"Dragon Shackles": There’s a chance to grant related cards S-rank potential.

"Just as I thought, all S-rank Material Cards come with the same annotation," he mused over the card’s utility.

The first trial subject he thought of for Fusion was "Martial Tower Master".

That is, Uncle Dragon Knight, whom he had previously met.

During his leisure time in the Zodiac Temple, he had pieced together a complete tale about Uncle Dragon Knight using various bits of information he gathered.

In essence, Uncle Dragon Knight, once the Master of Dragon Palace, had become the most invincible force in the world.

Yet constrained by the limits of heaven and earth, he could never break through to a higher realm, as his Yang Lifespan dwindled.

Luckily, he happened upon the avatar of some god passing through this world, who showed him a clear path.

He moved into the void to establish the Kungfu Tower, becoming a hidden level within the "Way of Balance".

"Don’t be fooled by the antlers on Dragon Martial’s head; by blood, he’s the real brother of Dragon Art.

If Dragon Art is a Dragon Head Man, then Dragon Martial should probably count as one too, right?

Uncle Dragon Knight is also a Dragon Head Man, so could this Material work?"

He immediately took out the "Martial Tower Master" card for a preview.

Unfortunately, it didn’t work out.

"Hold on, is it that incompatible for Fusion?

Could it be that only Dragon Martial himself can Fuse with it?"

That possibility had just occurred to Ree Shil.

He then turned his attention to the thousands of Unknown cards floating in front of him.

"First, I need to find Dragon Art and Dragon Martial," he resolved.

He put away the card in his hand and started the previewing process.

Half an hour later, two Cards were already in his possession.

He had good luck and quickly found the Cards of the Dragon Art and Dragon Martial brothers.

"These two Cards seem pretty ordinary to me."

"Renegade Dragon Man"

Wisdom, 30 points, A

Attack 30, 100/100, 4/4

"Escape - Passive": The Renegade Dragon Man has no blocking effect. freewёbnoνel.com

"Betrayal - Passive": The Renegade Dragon Man’s position is considered an enemy position.

"Ancestor’s Betrayal - Passive": All actions of the Renegade Dragon Man are considered enemy behavior.

"Repentance - 4 Point Energy": The Renegade Dragon Man negates all its own passive skills.

"Without knowing the story behind it, you’d never guess these two Cards are brothers.

There’s hardly any connection in the names or projections of the two.

This Dragon Art card is quite innovative," he noted.

Merely by looking at the face of the card, he could roughly understand what it was about.

Its passive skills seemed odd and pointless, but they did have some utility.

First, what does "position considered as an enemy’s position" mean? It means when calculating card patterns, it would count as part of the opponent’s card deck.

For instance, suppose the enemy’s Headline District left card A has a term like "When in an Outer Card position, takes 10 less Damage."

If the "Renegade Dragon Man" is placed in front of card A, it would become the Outer Card of that row for the enemy, and card A would not be considered an Outer Card.

However, this effect would probably rarely be useful.

But another term, "Ancestor’s Betrayal", considered as enemy behavior, is different.

What does "enemy behavior" mean?

You see, when your own Card attacks another of your Cards, there’s no concept of "attack blocking".

In other words, once the "Renegade Dragon Man" is revealed, it can attack any of the opponent’s Regular cards in any position.

It’s like ignoring any blocking by enemy cards.

However, you can’t use it to reveal the enemy’s King Card because your Cards inherently can’t do that.

But it could allow you to attack a position in the King Card Row that is not the King Card to infer the King Card’s location.

Those two points were what Ree Shil considered the most valuable about this card.

But the "Renegade Dragon Man" showed no compatibility with the "Dragon Shackles" either.

Looking at Dragon Martial’s card, its face seemed to fare much better than that of Dragon Art.
