Chapter 314: Chapter 314: You Are a Feng Shui Master?
Brother Hu trembled uncontrollably. He had never seen anything so bizarre. It was like the plants had gained a mind of their own.
No, that wasn’t it. It was the woman in front of him. She was the one controlling the plants. She was making them tie him and his men up.
The thought was insane, but it was undeniably the truth.
Su Qing beamed at Brother Hu. "What do you think?"
"You... you’re a Feng Shui Master?" After racking his brain, it was the only explanation Brother Hu could come up with.
Many people in Xiangcheng believed in Feng Shui, especially the wealthy, who were utterly convinced of its power. Some families even retained their own Feng Shui Masters, hiring them to assess their fortunes and ward off bad luck. Even his own boss was a firm believer.
But... but he’d never heard of a Feng Shui Master who could control plants!
Su Qing simply smiled, neither confirming nor denying. She was from a post-apocalyptic world; a superpower from that era would be difficult to explain to people of today. ’It’s fine to let them think I’m a Feng Shui Master,’ she thought. ’It’s close enough.’
"S-Sorry." Seeing that Su Qing didn’t deny it, Brother Hu assumed she really was a Feng Shui Master and immediately began to apologize frantically. "I was blind and failed to recognize my superior. I’ve offended you, Master, please forgive me! From now on, I’ll be sure to steer clear of you. I’ll never get in your way again! Please, Master, be the bigger person and let me go."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah! We’ll steer clear of you from now on, Master! Spare us, Master!" the other bound henchmen chimed in frantically.
"I have a few questions for you," Su Qing said, raising an eyebrow noncommittally.
"Yes, yes, of course! Ask away! We’ll tell you anything we know." Brother Hu was a man who knew when to bend. To put it bluntly, he was a classic bully who preyed on the weak and feared the strong. A moment ago, he’d seen Su Qing as a fragile young woman and acted high and mighty. But now that he knew he was no match for her, he was positively fawning. If he had a tail, it would have been wagging furiously.
"Which gang are you with?" Su Qing asked.
"We’re with the Jiu Ying Gang!" Before Brother Hu could even speak, his henchmen scrambled to answer.
"Jiu Ying Gang..." Su Qing’s eyes narrowed slightly. She glanced up, giving Brother Hu a chilling look. ’The Jiu Ying Gang can’t be any good if they let their members bully ordinary people like this,’ she mused. ’Judging by how terrified the restaurant owner was, these guys must get up to no good all the time.’
’Hmph. My fists are getting itchy.’
"Yes, yes, we’re with the Jiu Ying Gang," Brother Hu confirmed with a hasty nod. He shot a glare at his men. ’How dare they speak out of turn! If this monster gets annoyed with me because of them, I’ll deal with them later!’
His henchmen shivered at his glare, but right now, saving their own skins came first. They’d worry about everything else later.
"So, tell me about the Jiu Ying Gang. Who’s your boss? How many leaders do you have? How many members are in the gang, what kind of business do you do, and what have you been up to lately?" Su Qing asked softly. "Tell me everything you know."
"Huh?" Brother Hu and his men were stunned by the detail of her questions. ’Is she looking for revenge? Is she trying to gather intel on us?’
Brother Hu swallowed hard. "Master, who in our Jiu Ying Gang do you have a grudge against?"
Su Qing glared at him. "What’s this? Are you questioning me now? Who’s asking the questions here, you or me?"
"Ah, no, no! I was just curious, that’s all!" Brother Hu frantically shook his head. Then, without waiting for Su Qing to say another word, he began to spill every last detail he knew.
