Chapter 306: Chapter 306: Cheng Beilin Is Missing

「On the streets of Xiangcheng.」

Li Huan stared at the bustling metropolis before her, her jaw hanging open. Beijing was the capital of Hua Country and already its most prosperous city, but here in Xiangcheng, it was her first time seeing so many skyscrapers. It was her first time witnessing such a thriving city with her own eyes. The streets were lined with countless shops and filled with innumerable fashionably dressed girls—all things rarely seen in Beijing.

But that wasn’t even the most incredible part. Li Huan never would have guessed that when Su Qing said she had business to attend to, she meant business in Xiangcheng.

Xiangcheng... Given their status, it was a bit inappropriate for her and Su Qing to be here. What’s more, Su Qing had even smuggled her in...

Smuggled in...

She’d been smuggled...

Smuggled...

Li Huan touched her face again. ’Thank goodness, thank goodness Su Qing had a way to disguise them both. She actually had a method! She just applied some powder to my face, rubbed it in, and suddenly I looked like a completely different person. It’s just too incredible! So the ancient Disguise Technique from the storybooks is real! My god, Qingqing actually knows such an amazing skill. And the best part is, Su Qing is my sister!’

Li Huan didn’t realize it, but she was grinning from ear to ear.

She was thrilled at the thought of being in Xiangcheng, but she also kept Su Qing’s warnings firmly in mind. After witnessing Su Qing’s Disguise Technique firsthand, she became even more resolute. ’I have to keep the fact that Su Qing brought me to Xiangcheng, and that she knows the Disguise Technique, buried deep inside me. I absolutely cannot let it slip out, or who knows what kind of trouble will follow.’

Li Huan blinked, thinking back to what her mother had said on the phone.

A few days ago, when she and Su Qing had called home to say they were safe, her mother had, as expected, blown up on the phone and given Li Huan a thorough scolding. Li Huan suspected that if her mother hadn’t been worried about the high cost of the call, she would have lectured her nonstop for an hour or two. Thankfully, Su Qing came to her rescue, and only then did her mother finally calm down. She agreed to let Li Huan stay by Su Qing’s side, but also warned her not to get in the way of Su Qing’s business, and so on.

"Let’s go." Su Qing tugged at Li Huan, who was still lost in a happy daze. "We need to make a phone call first."

"A phone call?" Li Huan paused. "Qingqing, you know people in Xiangcheng, too?"

Li Huan had no idea that Su Qing was acquainted with the Cheng Family siblings. When Li Fenghuo had investigated Su Qing, he found out that she’d had contact with the Cheng Family in Xiangcheng, but he never shared this information. After all, that was a matter of Su Qing’s private social life, and as her uncle, it wasn’t his place to make all of his niece’s affairs public.

"Yes, a friend." Su Qing nodded. She took Li Huan with her and made a call to the Cheng Family. She had intended to speak with Cheng Beilin, but it was Cheng Beize who answered the phone.

"Su Qing, you’re in Xiangcheng?" Cheng Beize was very surprised to get her call. He had been completely drained these past few days and never expected Su Qing to show up in Xiangcheng now of all times.

"Yes, I have something I need to ask Beilin for help with," Su Qing told Cheng Beize. "I heard she’s not home. Should I just call back later?"

"Beilin..." When he heard Su Qing mention Beilin, Cheng Beize couldn’t help but hesitate.

Su Qing immediately sensed that something was wrong in Cheng Beize’s tone. "What’s wrong with Beilin? Did something happen?"

Neither of the Cheng siblings treated Su Qing like an outsider. This was especially true for Cheng Beize, who held certain indescribable feelings for her in his heart. So, he didn’t hide the truth from her. "Beilin... she’s missing."

"What!"
