Li Wan nodded. "We really have him to thank for this. We’ll have to thank him properly later."
Li Wan was deeply grateful to Gu Xinsheng. Although she didn’t remember the recent past, with her mind now clear, she knew how hard Gu Xinsheng had worked on her behalf. "Mom, it’s all in the past. Let’s not bring it up again," Su Qing said with a smile. "Li Aiguo, his wife, and Li Yuan have all been sentenced and sent to the farm. They’ve been punished. Everything is over now. Our good days are just getting started."
"Yes, yes," Li Wan nodded, her eyes brimming with tears.
Su Qing gave a faint smile and lowered her gaze. ’Being sent to a farm? As if it could be that easy for what Li Aiguo, his wife, and Li Yuan did. The years of suffering they put my mother through, not to mention their attempts to harm me—I won’t let it go so easily. Some scores are best settled with one’s own hands.’
As mother and daughter spoke, Gu Xinsheng walked in from outside the room. Seeing him, Su Qing raised an eyebrow slightly. Fortunately, Huo Yafeng came to his rescue.
Upon learning that Li Wan had made a full recovery, a jubilant Huo Yafeng rushed over with several other doctors. They gave Li Wan another thorough examination and then happily announced that she was completely healthy, with no lingering side effects, and could be discharged at any time.
And so, the very next day, Li Wan was discharged from the hospital and went with Su Qing to the courtyard house on Xiluo Alley. Gu Xinsheng helped them with the discharge and then departed.
