Chapter 510: Chapter 510: When Her Surprise Turned Into a Shock

Evelyn pouted, knowing that staying wouldn’t be of much help, but she still didn’t want to leave.

This side of her was indeed quite selfish!

However, she wanted to give herself a chance, a chance not to leave—perhaps she could find something else to help them with.

She knew there must be another way!

Thinking about it, Evelyn immediately got out of bed, ran to the kitchen, found Aunt May, and said hurriedly, "I’ll cook lunch today!"

"Young Madam?" Aunt May raised an eyebrow, "So eager today?"

Evelyn blushed and softly said, "Aunt May, what’s good for the brain? Or... are there any ingredients that relieve pain? If not, really healthy ones will do too!"

Aunt May immediately understood what Evelyn meant and laughed, "Young Madam, you’re not trying to cook for the young master, are you?"

Evelyn was taken aback, annoyed that Aunt May saw through her so quickly.

She awkwardly said, "Of course not! I just want to eat! It’s for my period pain, to relieve... period pain."

Aunt May couldn’t help but laugh, "Young Madam, you’re even shy with me!"

"Aunt May!" Evelyn covered her face in embarrassment, "Please just tell me! What should I make? There’s no time! I’m taking it to my husband at noon!"

"Tsk tsk!" Aunt May playfully teased, "Young Madam has changed the way you address the young master, huh? Now it’s ’my husband’! Young Madam, having a husband is quite something, huh? Showing off in front of me, a single soul!"

"Oh!" Evelyn stomped her feet anxiously, turning to run away.

Aunt May hurriedly grabbed Evelyn, asking her to help cook for Caden Lockwood, and take it to the company.

Otherwise, if Caden Lockwood knew he missed out on Evelyn’s love-filled lunch because of Aunt May’s joke, he would definitely dock her three months of salary!

Evelyn stayed in the kitchen, insisting it was for everyone, stubbornly refusing to admit it was for Caden Lockwood.

Yvette stood not far from the kitchen door, watching Aunt May and Evelyn bickering, while Kiki beside her seemed to be trying to win over these new household members, making the house particularly lively and warm.

Having been used to military life, Yvette found this new experience refreshing.

But she didn’t seem to mind it.

Evelyn suddenly turned and saw a rare smile at the corner of Yvette’s usually expressionless face, and Evelyn was momentarily stunned.

"So beautiful!" Evelyn exclaimed, "Is Yvette smiling? Surely she is smiling, right!"

The ice queen Yvette’s smile was as elusive as a shooting star.

Noticing Evelyn looking at her, the slight smile on Yvette’s lips instantly vanished, reverting to her iceberg demeanor.

Evelyn approached Yvette in astonishment, excitedly saying, "You have such a beautiful smile! No no no! Even not smiling, you’re beautiful! Oh my! You should smile more often!"

"Young Madam." Yvette pointed expressionlessly at the pot of soup, "Do you smell that? It’s about to burn."

Evelyn hurried back into the kitchen, focusing all her attention on the soup.

Only then did Yvette slightly relax, a warm flush rising on her cheeks, prompting her to head to the window to get some air.

When Evelyn finally finished preparing lunch, she immediately asked Yvette to take her to The Lockwood Group.

"We need to get it there before Uncle Caden gets off work!" Evelyn urged, "I want to surprise him! Hahaha—"

Thinking of seeing Caden Lockwood, she could imagine his face brimming with love, and Evelyn’s eyes turned into little hearts.

All the way, Evelyn’s heart was racing.

In her mind, she envisioned the scene of meeting Caden Lockwood, and her lovely face was full of girlish charm.

Yvette parked the car at the entrance of The Lockwood Group, and as Evelyn got out and looked around, she unexpectedly saw Yvonne Rhodes standing there in a white dress.
