Chapter 508: Chapter 508: Peacefully and Happily Staying by His Side
Evelyn spoke very quickly; she always did this when she was nervous.
As soon as she finished speaking, and was about to escape to the dining room, Caden Lockwood seized her wrist, lifted her horizontally, and carried her to the bedroom.
Evelyn sighed inwardly: I’m done for, I’m definitely going to get scolded!
Caden Lockwood tossed Evelyn onto the bed. Although his expression was fierce, it was obvious that he intentionally used less force, supporting her with his palm until she was almost on the bed, then letting go.
"Why don’t you listen?" Caden Lockwood opened his mouth with accusations, full of anger.
Evelyn knew all too well that Caden Lockwood was referring to her going to The Lockwood Family to find James Lockwood.
"What did I do now!" Evelyn’s tone was coquettish.
Anyway, she knew that Caden Lockwood couldn’t bear to really do anything to her.
"What did you do?" Caden Lockwood snorted coldly, "Evelyn Morgan, if you keep pretending to be clueless, I’ll show you!"
"Don’t call me by my full name, okay?" Evelyn’s tone was very aggrieved, "Every time you call me Evelyn Morgan, I feel terrified."
Caden Lockwood was so angry that even his breathing became uneven. Seeing Evelyn’s plaintive little face, he had no choice but to hold back his temper.
After waking up from a nap, Evelyn was nowhere to be found in the villa.
He searched everywhere for her, only to find out that she had gone to The Lockwood Family.
While she was at The Lockwood Family, he completely lost contact with her.
Even though she brought Yvette along, he was still worried.
What kind of place is The Lockwood Family?
Is that somewhere she can go casually?
He was anxious to go find her, but it was a text from Yvette saying they were already on their way home that stopped him from impulsively rushing to The Lockwood Family and causing a scene.
Seeing Caden Lockwood’s terrifyingly dark face, Evelyn’s lips curled into a smile.
Because his dark face was much more reassuring than his pale one!
Thinking back to Caden’s horridly pale face when he had a headache yesterday, Evelyn wished she’d never have to see it again in her life.
Evelyn rarely met Caden Lockwood’s gaze so unreservedly.
Every time their eyes unintentionally met, she would always first admit defeat, as if afraid her little secrets would be discovered.
Looking at Evelyn’s bright, sparkling eyes, Caden Lockwood’s glare gradually softened.
He sat beside Evelyn, speaking softly, "Why did you go to see him?"
He knew it was for his illness.
But she had told him that he could handle it himself, and no matter how many times she went to James Lockwood, it wouldn’t help.
Evelyn lowered her head, mumbling, "You’re so smart, can’t you guess?"
"What I want to know is what he threatened you with about my illness." Caden Lockwood said deeply, his tone strong and insightful.
Evelyn shrugged, knowing that Caden probably already understood what James Lockwood was threatening her with!
"Don’t listen." Caden Lockwood held Evelyn’s hand, "No matter what he threatens you with, don’t listen."
"But... it’s truly my fault." Evelyn choked up, "You took a bullet for me, which made your headache worse, I..."
Caden Lockwood raised his hand, his fingertip lightly resting on Evelyn’s lips, stopping her from saying the rest.
"Taking a bullet for you was just something a husband should do." Caden Lockwood said softly, "And you need to be someone worth me doing that for."
"But I..."
"I just want you to stay beside me, safe and happy." Caden Lockwood continued to speak, "Don’t leave." His tone had a commanding dominance.
