Chapter 24: So much work

"Master, I know I can be rash at times... but do you really think I have the heart to harm a fellow human to the point of traumatizing them...?"

Carmela asked the question almost as though, if I answered wrong, she would genuinely burst into tears. I mean... she always says she’s going to kill someone... but she really doesn’t look like the type to actually harm anyone.

’No, she didn’t do it,’ I concluded.

Right now, both Moressa and Carmela were under interrogation by me to find out who had kidnapped and tortured Anthony for two whole days. Luckily, he had survived the fire attack from that crazy bitch, though his injuries were severe. But that was fine; a healer had been called to attend to him, so he was safe.

That wasn’t the issue now, though. The issue was to find out which of these girls was truly responsible for such cruelty... free𝑤ebnovel.com

"No, you don’t," I responded.

Carmela smiled beautifully. "...Thank you, Master," she said.

I turned my gaze to Moressa.

"REALLY, Master?! She literally took you to that room! Isn’t that evidence enough?" Moressa asked in obvious frustration.

I looked at Carmela again. She said nothing. She just looked at me... No, it has to be a coincidence. She wouldn’t hurt a fly.

"It’s not her. Tell me why you did it, Moressa. Don’t draw this out any longer."

"I DIDN’T DO IT, MASTER!!! SHE LITERALLY USED THE SAME METHOD SHE USED TO RESCUE YOU TO KIDNAP HIM! PLUS, WITH HER ABILITY, SHE COULD EASILY VISIT AND TORTURE HIM WHENEVER SHE WANTED! THE HANDWRITING IS CLEARLY ON THE WALL!!!"

She was beyond frustrated. I looked back at Carmela, but before I could say anything, I noticed a tear trail down her left cheek.

She was crying!

No.

"Enough! I said she’s innocent, and that means she is."

"No, it’s alright, Master... I will take the blame. Punish me," Carmela said, getting down on her knees.

This is unfair. She’s clearly innocent.

"Moressa, your salary for the next five months is cut off. You obviously did it, and not only that, you won’t even take responsibility," I said in annoyance.

"THIS IS BULLSHIT!!!"

Moressa stormed out of the room in anger, slamming the door forcefully behind her.

"Master? Master, Master~"

Oh. She’s happy again.

I’m happy as well.

Wait. What the heck just happened?

Before I could even try to reason properly, she was on my lap, hugging me and sniffing me all over.

"Master, Master, Master," she kept repeating. Cute.

I pinched her cheeks and kissed her forehead, but she didn’t stop sniffing me. However, I suddenly felt her wet, hot mouth encasing my fingers. She relaxed her weight directly onto my crotch, then began her weird fetish of licking me.

But I was still dirty, so I stopped her.

"...Master?" She looked confused.

"It’s not healthy to do that. Let’s take a bath first."

I took her up in a princess carry, to which she pressed both her clenched palms against her cheeks, innocently letting me carry her.

Hm. Something is weird.

...But what?

Oh well. I just kept staring into those pink eyes of hers.

Is it just me, or are they glowing?

Nah, it’s probably just me.

...

...

"She did it again! I really hate that girl! I hate her! I hate her!" Moressa screamed in anger.

But before she could blow a hole through the wall, she restrained herself and instead just kicked the empty air.

"Sigh..." She let out a heavy breath.

’Forget it, I have more important things to do... Master’s other bonds. I need to find them; the entrance exams are coming soon. I hate to admit it, but that vixen is right. We need to be complete... But where do I even start? Sigh. Plus, there’s that crazy idiot, Nadia,’ she thought, feeling a massive headache coming on as her expression took a dark turn. ƒгeewёbnovel.com

Nadia had always possessed an unhealthy obsession with seeing Lorel in pain. Of all his bonds, she was the one they disliked the most. It was all because of her sister’s death, which seemed to have driven her completely crazy. Originally, she was just an orphan who only had her sister to depend on, but her sister had died trying to protect Lorel.

Even with him trying to make amends—even going so far as making her a part of his Legion—she still held a deep-seated hatred and would not stop until she saw him dead... That was the very reason why, even when Carmela had managed to escape the mansion, she still found a way to trap Nadia. The girl simply could not be left to her own devices.

But strangely, Lorel never did anything about her constant attempts to harm him. They thought it was out of guilt, so they took it upon themselves to keep her away from him.

They couldn’t kill her, however. Losing a bond would cause irreversible, dangerous damage to Lorel, who was already far too weak.

"So much work to do," Moressa muttered angrily, walking down the corridor.
