Jake floated in the middle of the circular magic array with his eyes closed. Right now, two different types of powers violently clashed within him, causing dark, crimson, and golden halos to burst from his body.
It was evident that the crimson and golden halos were far larger and thicker than the dark ones. Still, the weaker bloodline was putting maximum resistance.
While all of this was happening, a system alert kept ringing in Jake’s mind. Meanwhile, three-colored lines crept all over his skin, making for a weird sight.
[Warning! Dual bloodlines detected within the host’s body. Incompatibility rate 81%... 80%...]
Although Jake could see that the rate was being decreased, the speed of that decrement was abysmally low. His recently advanced body couldn’t hold these clashing powers for long.
If it weren’t for the fact that he had a robust physique and that he was actively trying to balance the two bloodlines, he’d already been shredded to thousands of pieces.
Thankfully, the demonic dragon bloodline was noticeably stronger and was beginning to devour the properties of the black devil bloodline.
The process was even more painful than before and if Jake were to lose consciousness at this critical moment, he really would die.
But Willpower was one of the stats that he’d invested in. With 500 points, it was barely enough to keep himself conscious.
As Yvonne looked from far away, she could sense the dark halos slowly becoming smaller and smaller.
After several hours, these dark halos had strangely disappeared. However, after looking closely, she could see that the power within those dark halos had mixed with the golden and crimson halos.
By now, the incompatibility rate had lessened significantly. Also, the more compatible these bloodlines became, the faster they assimilated. So Jake didn’t have to exert himself as much as earlier.
After another hour, the pain completely disappeared and a burst of purely assimilated energy flowed through Jake’s body.
It was cool and soothing, healing the internal damages done by the earlier clash.

Immediately after this message, visible changes took place in Jake’s body!
His skin rapidly accommodated majestic black scales which had a golden sheen to them. Also, his previous wings became thicker and far wider than before. Their inner parts were now deep red.
Jake’s horns remained relatively unchanged but the same couldn’t be said about his tail which began to look more and more like Yvvone’s.
Jake now seemed like a hybrid dragon.
"Master!" The dragon girl immediately approached him after noticing these changes.
As Jake turned toward her, a series of system messages once again bombarded his senses.
[Ding! Congratulations on advancing to the 5th Circle! You have acquired new bloodline abilities.]
[Ding! Your various attributes have naturally increased.]
[Ding! You have gained a new skill, Devouring Maw.]
"You’ve succeeded." The dragon girl entered the magical array which was rapidly fading away.
"Indeed," Jake examined himself with a relieved smile.
He could feel a vast and dominating power coursing through his body. It was as if he could lift a mountain with his bare hands.
"So this is the 5th Circle..." He muttered, clenching his right fist on which an immense amount of surrounding mana instantly converged.
As Jake threw a casual punch toward the dragon girl, she raised her claw and tried to catch it.
But to her surprise, the power behind that punch caused her hand to go numb. A booming shockwave echoed in the surroundings and Yvonne stepped back with an incredulous expression on her face.
Yvonne hadn’t used her full strength to meet the punch, but that burst of power was still astonishing.

Seeing her surprised look, Jake simply laughed and flapped his wings, instantly rising several tens of feet into the air.
As his vast 5th Circle aura spread out, the hordes of monsters quickly stopped what they were doing and assumed subservient positions.
Previously, he had to use his authority as the dungeon master and use the help of Yvonne to make them do his bidding. Yet now, even without that, Jake could easily subdue these monsters.
As the dragon girl also hovered beside him, he ordered the monsters to exit from the east side of the city.
"Lead them ahead," Jake said to Yvonne before opening the system panel again.

Next, Jake found that he had four bloodline abilities which were,
[Bloodline Transformation: Morph your currently hybrid form into a fully mature Devilish Dragon. In this form, all your basic attributes are boosted and you gain new innate abilities.]
[Emotion Dominator: Able to sense and manipulate emotions of lower-willed individuals at command.]
[Demodragon’s Might: As a higher-life form, all corrupt or demonic entities carrying even a hint of draconic bloodline are subject to severe bloodline suppression from your aura. Ineffective against beings of 7th Circle and above.]
[Soul Consumption: You are able to directly consume disembodied souls feeling intense emotions towards you. Successful consumption of a soul may grant some of its abilities and attributes.]
Previously, Jake only had two of these abilities and even those two seemed to have slightly evolved after merging with the new bloodline.
However, the other two abilities were more interesting to him right now. Demodragon’s Might was basically a passive effect of the bloodline. But the transformation skill allowed him to use even more innate abilities which weren’t mentioned.
Ever since Jake successfully awakened his bloodline, he had been feeling the itch to transform. He would’ve already done so if it weren’t for the Black Devil bloodline which clashed right after the awakening.
Now that he’d resolved that issue, Jake couldn’t wait anymore and channeled his newfound bloodline power. It was as if he knew how to do this all along.
Within the time it took to take two breaths, a thunderous rumble erupted from Jake’s body as he spread his arms midair.
His humanoid body instantly became so dark that even light couldn’t escape from it. The nearby space in a three mile radius became abnormally dim.
The thousands of monsters instinctively looked above. Yvonne was hovering among them, already having sensed what her master was about to do.
In her amber irises, the scene of a creature eclipsing the sun played out. From within that eclipse, she could see a dark silhouette several hundreds of feet large.
