Chapter 693: Chapter 470: Seizing the Li Fire Flame, Five Flames Sacred Fire
Divine Fire Peak.
This place was filled with countless prodigious disciples of the Li Fire Sect, along with all the great elders.
Not only could one absorb the purest Innate Fire Vein Spiritual Energy here, but it also served to safeguard the sect’s supreme treasure—the Li Fire Flame.
"Grand Elder!"
As Lin Chang’sheng landed atop Divine Fire Peak, many disciples saw him and paid their respects.
They clearly took Lin Chang’sheng for Nanshan Daoist.
Lin Chang’sheng nodded slightly, then headed straight for the Ancestral Cave Mansion.
Within this mansion, the supreme treasure of the Li Fire Sect—the Li Fire Flame—was concealed.
Yet when Lin Chang’sheng arrived at the entrance of the cave, he discovered two elders sitting cross-legged in meditation, clearly stationed there as guardians.
Both men looked to be in their fifties or sixties, their bodies brimming with primordial energy—clearly Late Stage Mahayana cultivators.
"Grand Elder, do you wish to enter the Ancestral Cave Mansion?"
As Lin Chang’sheng approached, the two elders opened their eyes.
"Indeed."
Lin Chang’sheng gave a brief nod, placing the two elders in a quandary.
"Do you have the Sect Leader’s personal command, Grand Elder?"
The Second Elder spoke up.
This cave mansion was not a place one could just waltz into—only the sect leader could grant entrance. Otherwise, if the treasure was lost, it would be a weight too heavy for them to bear.
"What do you think? You think I’d be here without approval?"
Lin Chang’sheng retorted, rendering the Second Elder at a loss for words.
After all, Nanshan Daoist ranked just beneath the Sect Leader and above all others in the Li Fire Sect.
"Allow the Grand Elder through!"
The two elders had no choice but to step aside and let Lin Chang’sheng enter.
"Hurry and find the Sect Leader to confirm, just in case something goes wrong!"
The Second Elder murmured to the Fifth Elder beside him, and the Fifth Elder immediately nodded and departed.
Upon entering the Ancestral Cave Mansion, Lin Chang’sheng was immediately met by waves of scorching heat.
Luckily, with his command of the Four Divine Flames, such heat was nothing to him.
Otherwise, if it had been any ordinary cultivator, they would have turned back before even reaching the depths, overwhelmed by the searing temperature.
When Lin Chang’sheng finally reached the innermost chamber, he found two stone rooms, each the size of a small house. At the very center lay the corpse of an elder who had died in ages past. Not far from the corpse, atop a stone pediment, rested a crimson feather.
On the feather burned a flame so intense it seemed to twist the very space around it.
"Could this be... the Li Fire Flame?"
Lin Chang’sheng thought to himself.
He stepped closer, probed it with his senses, and confirmed without a doubt—this was indeed the Li Fire Sect’s supreme treasure, the Li Fire Flame.
"Talk about effortless fortune!"
Lin Chang’sheng’s lips curled into a sly grin. With a wave of his hand, the Fire Feather vanished into his storage bag. His gaze then drifted to the corpse of the old master.
This must be the body of the Li Fire Sect’s founding ancestor.
Who would’ve thought—gone for ten thousand years, yet the flesh hadn’t rotted in the slightest. Clearly, his cultivation in life was beyond ordinary.
This corpse was just perfect for refining a corpse puppet!
Lin Chang’sheng gave another wave, and took the ancestor’s remains with him as well.
Since he’d pocketed the Li Fire Flame, he doubted the sect would let him off anyway. Might as well help himself to another prize while he was at it.
Stowing both treasures, Lin Chang’sheng began carving a space array, preparing to make his getaway.
But much to his surprise, the space array wouldn’t hold together—halfway through, the array collapsed into nothing.
"What’s going on here?"
Lin Chang’sheng felt utterly baffled—this had never once happened before.
If teleporting was out, his only option was to flee by tearing through the void directly!
He retraced his steps, heading for the exit—but when he arrived at the cave entrance, he found it blocked by a host of Li Fire Sect powerhouses. Even the Sect Leader, Wei Zhen, was now standing there, waiting for him.
Wei Zhen looked to be about forty-five or fifty, clad in bright red robes, with matching red hair and beard, making him especially striking.
His cultivation was at the Middle Stage of Tribulation Crossing.
Now, pairs of sharp eyes bore into Lin Chang’sheng, making him feel more than a little awkward.
Caught red-handed during a heist—what a disaster!
The Fifth Elder had just gone to find the sect leader, only to learn the Grand Elder had never been given leave to enter the Ancestral Cave Mansion, alerting everyone that something was seriously wrong.
So they immediately gathered the sect’s powerhouses to blockade Lin Chang’sheng’s escape.
"No wonder teleporting doesn’t work—they even activated the sect’s Grand Array!"
As Lin Chang’sheng emerged, he saw flames burning along the heavens, shrouding the whole Li Fire Sect. It was clear the Sect Protection Array had been triggered, rendering all teleportation arrays useless.
"You’re not the Grand Elder. Who the hell are you, to dare break into my Li Fire Sect?"
The Second Elder bellowed in rage. Someone actually dared impersonate Nanshan Daoist to infiltrate the sect?
Could their goal possibly be the Li Fire Flame?
"Haven’t you ever heard the saying, ’A man’s wealth is his own undoing’? Leaving the Li Fire Flame here is simply a waste—why not loan it to me for a while?"
Lin Chang’sheng said with a hint of a smile.
This world ran on the law of the jungle—so much for fairness or justice.
Resources were limited; if you wanted strength, you had to take it by force.
If Lin Chang’sheng didn’t seize the Li Fire Flame now, sooner or later some other powerhouse would come to steal it anyway.
"So you came here for the Li Fire Flame?"
Wei Zhen’s gaze grew frigid. If this man dared covet their sect’s most prized treasure, he could not be allowed to live.
Otherwise, endless trouble would follow.
"What else? Is there some sightseeing to be done at your Li Fire Sect?"
Lin Chang’sheng laughed. "You think keeping me here will be easy? There’s no need to throw your lives away over a single flame."
Lin Chang’sheng gave them fair warning—it was impossible for them to detain him.
Unless they had Late Stage Tribulation Crossing or Immortal Realm cultivators, Lin Chang’sheng barely saw them as obstacles.
"What impertinence! I’d like to see how you plan to escape my Li Fire Sect. The Sect Protection Array is already activated—not even a fly’s getting out, let alone a man!"
