Chapter 81: Chapter 81: Elliot Sheridan Habitually Wants a Cigarette

Nancy Hughes stood frozen at the door, dumbfounded. Seeing the president’s unfriendly glare, she thought, ’Did I just interrupt something important?’

’I’m screwed, I’m screwed, I’m screwed!’

’She’d worked so hard to get into a big company, and before she could even make a name for herself, she was going to get fired just for interrupting the big boss’s private moment!’

’The thought of getting fired sent a chill straight through her.’

’Could she just go back to her room, lie down on her bed, and pretend none of this ever happened?’

’Or better yet, maybe this was all a dream!’

But the more she thought about it, the clearer her mind became, and she bolted upright in her bed.

’How could this be?’

’When did Georgia Thorne get involved with Elliot Sheridan?’

’Doesn’t she have a fiancé, Zane Lennox?!’

Nancy, for her part, was scared to death. Her entire livelihood was in Elliot Sheridan’s hands, and she was terrified he’d fire her on a whim.

「Inside Georgia Thorne’s room.」

Just as Elliot Sheridan expected, with Nancy Hughes around, Georgia Thorne wouldn’t dare get intimate with him.

Elliot gripped her small hand, squeezing deliberately until a red mark formed on her wrist.

He sat her on the bed, holding her and parting her legs. "Tell me, how are you going to compensate me?"

This was the third time. Every time they were interrupted, Elliot felt murderous.

But when he looked down and met Georgia’s teary, red-rimmed eyes, he couldn’t bring himself to get angry.

He lowered his head, his deep eyes gazing at her. "Little heartless one, why so quiet?"

"It’s not like I made them show up on purpose!"

’Who could have predicted they’d show up at this exact moment? It’s always right when we’re about to... do it.’

Her slender fingers poked his chest. It was hard and firm.

"Elliot, let me go." Georgia’s face flushed an even deeper shade of red as she lowered her head.

Elliot hummed, his tone questioning. "Let you go? So you can cook for someone else?"

Elliot was displeased. On her very first day as his girlfriend, she wasn’t preparing a meal for him, but for another woman.

"Nancy is my roommate," Georgia protested softly, glancing up at him from the corner of her eye in a somewhat coquettish way.

"We still haven’t discussed my compensation!"

’This man is unbelievable! She’d already tried to appease him, so why was he still threatening to spank her!’

Elliot was a man, and his arms alone were thicker than Georgia’s calves; naturally, he was immensely strong.

Georgia couldn’t match Elliot’s strength, even with both of her hands pushing against him.

As he raised his hand, she hastily blurted out, "Whatever you say goes!"

"Good. Georgia is such a good girl." Elliot pinched her flushed, pretty cheek and smiled in satisfaction.

Elliot let go, and Georgia immediately scrambled off his lap, putting a safe distance between them.

Elliot had torn her clothes, so she picked a long T-shirt from the closet.

She turned to face him. "Turn around."

"What’s there to hide? Is there any part of you I haven’t already seen?"

"..."

’He had a point, but changing in front of him still felt embarrassing.’

At that moment, Elliot habitually felt the urge for a smoke to relieve the tension.

Georgia turned and saw Elliot swallow hard. Her heart skipped a beat, and grabbing the clothes she’d taken off, she quickly exited the room.

She tossed the dirty clothes into the laundry basket and glanced at Nancy’s door. "Nancy, are you still hungry?"

Silence emanated from the room for a few seconds, then the door opened a tiny crack.

Nancy peeked out with one eye. "President Sheridan... has he left?"

If Nancy hadn’t called him "President Sheridan," Georgia would have completely forgotten that her roommate was currently an intern at Elliot’s company.

She shook her head and glanced at Nancy. "Don’t worry, he won’t come out." freewёbnoνel.com

"Really?" Nancy asked dubiously.

The moment she’d seen Elliot Sheridan, she’d been so terrified by his glare that she felt her heart had stopped beating.

Georgia bit her lip and nodded. "Nancy, I’m just glad you’re not mad at me."

"Mad? What would I be mad about?" Nancy looked at her, confused, before it dawned on her. "Oh, you mean what happened that night. Georgia, I’m not that petty. I just couldn’t accept the news of your engagement right away, so I kind of lost control. But that’s all in the past now. I’m completely over it!"

"But you left so early that morning and didn’t even reply to my texts. I was worried sick for days." Georgia’s voice trailed off, her eyes red as she looked at Nancy.

Nancy was a good friend. While Selena Sheridan was away, Nancy had become like a sister to her, keeping her company.

She didn’t want a man to come between them and ruin their sister-like friendship.

"Why are your eyes all red? I haven’t even started crying yet!" Seeing Georgia looking so aggrieved, Nancy hastily explained, "I got a work call from my supervisor in the middle of the night. I didn’t tell you because I didn’t want to wake you. And as for your texts, don’t even get me started! I had the worst luck. My phone got stolen the second I got on the bus."

"Nancy, as long as you’re not mad at me, that’s all that matters!" Georgia wiped at her eyes, realizing tears had begun to well up.

"Do I really seem that petty to you?!" Nancy put her hands on her hips. "My dear Georgia, while I still have a breath left in me, please hurry up and make me a bowl of noodles. I’m about to starve to death!"

"Okay, okay. Do you want an egg in it?"

"Yes! And bring it to my room when it’s done!" Nancy gestured emphatically toward her own door.

’What if she ate out in the living room and ran into Elliot Sheridan!’

’Her poor heart couldn’t take that much stress.’

Georgia busied herself in the kitchen, quickly making a bowl of noodles for Nancy. Hearing the exaggerated desperation in her friend’s voice, she even fried two eggs to go with it.

She knocked on the door. From the other side, Nancy asked who it was.

Only after Georgia announced herself did Nancy dare to carefully open the door.

"Alright, you go keep our big boss company!" Nancy took the bowl of noodles, but as she looked up, she saw Elliot Sheridan standing right there.

Her hands trembled in fright, nearly spilling the hot noodles. She immediately straightened up and said dutifully, "Hello, President Sheridan."

Elliot narrowed his eyes, his expression unchanged. "What’s your name?"

"Nancy Hughes!" Nancy stole a sideways glance at Elliot.

’President Sheridan’s tone was neutral, giving no hint of his mood. Was he going to fire her, or was he going to let her stay for Georgia’s sake?’

Elliot grunted in acknowledgment, his gaze shifting to Georgia. "Georgia, come in here."

Before Georgia could even react, a sycophantic Nancy was already pushing her arm. "What are you standing there for? Get in there!"

Georgia was speechless. "..."

His suit jacket had been tossed on the floor during their earlier passion, and several buttons on his dress shirt were undone.

’If he were smoking a cigarette right now, shrouded in the rising smoke, he would look even sexier.’

Lost in this thought, Georgia stood at the doorway without moving. "Is there something you need?"

In the baggy T-shirt, Georgia’s frame looked even more petite. ’Standing so far away at the door... is she guarding against me?’ freewebnøvel.com

"Come here."

The simple two words were filled with menace, and Georgia had no choice but to slowly walk toward him.

The moment Georgia got close, Elliot grabbed her slender, pale wrist and pulled her down onto his lap, seating her on his slightly parted thighs.

"Georgia, we haven’t finished our previous discussion. Tell me, has another man ever been in this apartment?" A clean, fresh scent washed over her as he spoke.

Her wrist was held in a grip that was neither too tight nor too loose, but just enough to prevent any escape.
