Chapter 73: Chapter 73: Let Georgia Join Your Company as a Designer? (2)

"Just a reminder, you have lunch with your Justin Sullivan in half an hour. You should be leaving now."

"Really?" Selena Sheridan glanced skeptically at the time, then shrieked, "Oh no, I’m going to be late again!"

She snatched her bag and bolted out of the office.

A few minutes later, the door opened again. Elliot thought it was Selena Sheridan coming back.

He tossed down his pen and rubbed the bridge of his nose. "Why are you back... It’s you!"

The man who had entered the office wore a black suit. The top two or three buttons of his black shirt were undone, revealing a sexy Adam’s apple and lending a roguish air to his otherwise formal appearance.

He sat down languidly before the desk, crossing his legs. "What’s wrong? If not me, who were you expecting?"

Elliot Sheridan didn’t have a large circle of friends. There were only two people he’d grown up with.

One was Dylan Heston, and the other was Ethan Fletcher.

And the man before him—roguish despite his dapper appearance—was none other than the long-unseen Ethan Fletcher.

"I heard you went to Solara a while ago. When did you get back?"

"We grew up together, and this is how little you care about me? You don’t even know when I came back!" Ethan Fletcher laughed mischievously.

Just hearing the name Ethan Fletcher, one might imagine a perfectly respectable person. The man himself, however, couldn’t be more different.

Elliot Sheridan pursed his lips. Ethan Fletcher wasn’t one for idle visits; he never showed up unless he wanted something.

He pulled a cigarette from its case and lit it. "Spit it out. What do you want?"

"Sigh. Some people just don’t care about me at all. And here I was, so concerned about him!"

Ethan Fletcher let out a long sigh, looking at Elliot Sheridan with a mournful, reproachful gaze.

Elliot Sheridan’s eyes narrowed with impatience. He took a hard drag from his cigarette. "If this is what you came for, I think you can stand up and get out of my office."

"Whoa, hold on. I brought you some big news!" Ethan Fletcher’s smile widened as he pulled two photos from his pocket.

He tossed them onto the massive desk. "That little girl you wanted three years ago? She came to my restaurant for dinner yesterday!"

Ethan Fletcher had deliberately thrown the two photos so they landed face down, with their white backs facing up.

Elliot Sheridan couldn’t see what was on them.

"And?"

"This little lady... I saw her yesterday. A real beauty, so fresh and delicate. No wonder so many men are chasing her. Even that newly appointed president of the Lennox Group, Zane Lennox, has his eye on her. And there was another guy, not bad looking, probably from a well-off family too. The three of them were pulling and tugging at each other right at my restaurant’s entrance. It was a whole love triangle playing out!" Ethan Fletcher grinned at Elliot Sheridan, his narrow, almond-shaped eyes squinting with a fox-like slyness. freewebnøvel.coɱ

With a refined hand, he picked up the photos from the desk and flipped them over.

The photos were taken from a good angle, showing two men and one woman tangled together.

The two men were Zane Lennox and Justin Sullivan.

His dark eyes narrowed. He picked up one of the photos, and with his other hand, flicked open a lighter and set it on fire. freeweɓnøvel.com

"Hey, why’d you burn a perfectly good picture? She’s such a pretty little thing!" Ethan Fletcher clutched the remaining, undamaged photo as if it were a treasure.

"What’s the point of keeping something I don’t like looking at?"

The photo burned slowly. Elliot Sheridan held on, not letting go, the roaring flames reflected in his dark pupils.

’Georgia, I gave you a week to sort out your feelings, not so you could go and find another man for me to deal with!’

"That little lady is so fresh-faced, she can’t be even 20, right? Tsk tsk, Sharon, you’re really something else. Taking a young girl like that three years ago... I wonder if she was even legal back then!" Ethan Fletcher said with a wicked grin.

Back then, hearing from Dylan Heston that Elliot Sheridan had a woman had shocked him.

Then, hearing that the girl was quite young had shocked him all over again.

"She was eighteen three years ago!"

"Eighteen! That means she’s only twenty-one now! You’re a 34-year-old man, and you’re still trying to take advantage of a young girl. Have you no shame?"

Elliot Sheridan’s face darkened. He was thirteen years older than Georgia Thorne; that was an unchangeable fact.

A dangerous glint flashed in his deep, dark eyes, and Ethan Fletcher immediately wiped the smile from his face.

He sat up straight, cleared his throat twice, and revealed the real reason for his visit.

Georgia Thorne was just a minor topic for teasing Sharon; the real issue was yet to come.

"Erin Irving is back!" Mentioning this name, Ethan Fletcher’s smile vanished, his expression becoming as serious as Elliot Sheridan’s.

"When did he get back?"

"The day before yesterday. Three in the morning. Came back from the airport alone."

"No one from the Irving Family went to pick him up?"

"No. He probably came back in secret."

Elliot Sheridan grunted in acknowledgment and closed his eyes heavily, lost in thought.

Ethan Fletcher’s people had been secretly watching Erin Irving. The moment he made a move, they would know.

Ever since that incident, Erin Irving had been staying abroad to lay low.

Counting the years, it must have been six or seven by now.

Elliot Sheridan snorted. "Keep a close watch on him for me. If he dared to sneak back, he must have a motive. Give me a list of everyone he’s met with recently."

"Got it," Ethan Fletcher nodded grimly. "By the way, there’s one more thing. There was someone else on the plane with Erin Irving. Guess who?"

"Don’t play games. If you know, just tell me the name." The photo in his hand had turned to ash. The whitish dust fell into the ashtray, scattering with the slightest breeze.

"It was Joanne Donovan!"

"It’s normal for her to be back. With the leadership transition happening, Quincy Rhodes must have called her back. A while ago, Quincy had her secretary try to schedule a meeting with me, but I blew her off. I guess this time she wants to use her daughter to tie me down."

Elliot Sheridan and Joanne Donovan had been engaged for seven or eight years.

The wedding had been continually postponed and never held. Quincy Rhodes must be getting anxious.

Ethan Fletcher smiled. "Quincy Rhodes isn’t bad-looking, and Joanne Donovan is just as beautiful as her mother. Being engaged to her isn’t so bad, is it?"

"You think Joanne Donovan is so great? Then you can have her."

"No, thanks. I can’t handle a beauty like that!" Ethan Fletcher waved his hands dismissively. Joanne Donovan was indeed beautiful, but she gave off a strange vibe.

Joanne Donovan was very calculating. After Erin Irving left back then, she had also gone abroad.

And now, she had returned to the country with Erin Irving.

The timing was too coincidental. It was impossible for them not to be connected.

Having said his piece, Ethan Fletcher left.

Whether intentionally or not, he left one of the photos behind.

In the photo, Georgia Thorne’s eyes were red-rimmed as she looked at Justin Sullivan, as if she had been terribly wronged.

Since she couldn’t sort out these feelings on her own, then he would just have to help her do it.

He burned this photo as well.

Keeping such a photo would only make him feel uncomfortable looking at it.

He tugged at his tie, unfastening a button or two and revealing his own sexy Adam’s apple.

He buzzed the intercom and gave Owen Sawyer some instructions.

Meanwhile, Georgia Thorne was about to lose her mind.

Because of the incident with Zane Lennox, everyone on her team now looked at her with contempt and disdain.

The timid ones would gossip behind her back; the bolder ones did it right to Georgia Thorne’s face.

Georgia Thorne wasn’t stupid. They might not be using her name, but it was clear their veiled insults were directed at her.

She had anticipated this would happen and had already prepared herself mentally.

Zane Lennox was already more than enough for her to handle, and now there was Justin Sullivan.

Justin Sullivan was highly capable and got up to speed on company business very quickly. Not long after returning to the country, he had already won over more than half of the company’s shareholders.
