Chapter 35: Chapter 35: Mr. Sheridan, Just an Uncle
"You’d better hope so!" Amanda snorted, her beautiful eyes scanning Georgia.
"I don’t know what trick you pulled to convince Elliot Sheridan to get out of that blind date for you, but you’d better remember one thing: Elliot is not someone you can touch. You’d better stay far away from him!" Her warning was blunt and full of hostility.
"Mr. Sheridan is just an uncle, that’s all. What are you thinking?"
Amanda was very attentive to Elliot Sheridan.
She clung to Elliot Sheridan’s side, putting on a sweet and demure act that was meant to be endearing.
Her exquisitely painted red lips brushed against his collar, as if wanting to leave her mark on this man.
Elliot Sheridan was wearing a white shirt today, and Amanda’s lipstick left a clear stain on it.
The sight made Georgia uncomfortable, and she forced herself to look away.
Throughout dinner, Amanda continued to be very clingy with Elliot Sheridan.
She thoughtfully did all sorts of things for him. At one point, Elliot Sheridan turned his head and said something to her that made Amanda giggle coquettishly.
It was a charming picture.
’Were they this lovey-dovey during those days they were on a business trip abroad together?’
Her thoughts were in a whirl. She distractedly picked up the glass of juice in front of her, but her fingers slackened, and the glass tipped over.
The mouth of the glass was pointing directly at Elliot Sheridan, and the juice splashed right toward him.
The entire tabletop was covered in spilled juice, and some of it splattered onto Elliot Sheridan’s trousers.
"Elliot, your pants!" Amanda exclaimed.
She quickly grabbed some napkins and began wiping the juice off his trousers for him.
Her hand accidentally brushed against *that thing* of his. Her cheeks flushed red, and Elliot Sheridan swiftly grabbed her fair wrist.
The man wasn’t flustered at all. "I can get it myself."
Jared Thorne’s expression changed instantly. He scolded Georgia, "We were having a perfectly nice meal, and you had to go and ruin the atmosphere!"
Georgia sat there in a daze. She had only zoned out for a moment; she never expected something like this to happen.
"What are you just sitting there for? Apologize to Mr. Sheridan right now!" Jared Thorne slammed his hand on the table in anger.
Georgia’s shoulders flinched. She lifted her watery eyes to look at Elliot Sheridan.
He wasn’t looking at her. Instead, he said to Jared Thorne, "Georgia certainly didn’t do it on purpose. It’s just a meal; there’s no need to make things so tense."
Unexpectedly, Elliot Sheridan was very easygoing about it.
Since the victim himself wasn’t holding a grudge, Jared Thorne couldn’t very well continue to scold Georgia.
Amanda narrowed her eyes from the side. She really didn’t like the intimate way Elliot Sheridan said Georgia’s name, and she liked it even less that he was speaking up for her.
Despite having his pants soaked, Elliot Sheridan showed no signs of embarrassment for the rest of the dinner.
When it was time to leave, he bid his farewells and asked Georgia if she wanted to leave with him.
Georgia was exhausted today and had been planning to stay the night at the Thorne family home.
But when Elliot Sheridan asked, she immediately nodded. "I have to meet a client tomorrow morning."
"Then I’ll take you home."
"Okay!"
The exchange was perfectly natural. There was nothing wrong with it.
But as Amanda listened, she couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable.
She let out a dry laugh and clung to Elliot Sheridan’s arm even tighter. "Georgia, you’ve finally come home for a visit. Why don’t you just stay the night?"
Georgia, who was heading upstairs, paused. "But then I’d have to squeeze onto a bus tomorrow morning. I might be late."
"Oh, that’s no problem. I can drive you to meet your client myself." Amanda’s smile grew even brighter as she played the part of a gentle and considerate older sister.
"But..."
Her hesitant gaze flickered to Elliot Sheridan. She understood the deep, dark look in his eyes all too well.
Elliot Sheridan pushed Amanda away, his smile turning a few shades colder. "What is it you’re so worried about?" freewebnovel.cσ๓
A man as outstanding as Elliot Sheridan—any woman would want to latch onto him.
Of course Amanda was worried, even though Georgia was her half-sister.
Sometimes, it’s the sister who steals your man when you least expect it.
Elliot Sheridan smiled slowly, his gaze growing colder. "Georgia is about the same age as Selena. I’ve always thought of Georgia as my niece."
The man’s tone didn’t sound like he was joking.
Amanda was a smart woman; she knew her behavior just now had annoyed Elliot Sheridan.
She smiled sweetly. "I was just worried about a girl going home by herself! She might run into a bad person!" freeweɓnøvel.com
"You don’t need to worry about that. I’ll personally see her to her door." Elliot Sheridan’s dark eyes burned as he looked at Georgia. "If Selena found out I lost her best friend, she’d chew me out for sure!"
The man’s voice softened. On the surface, Amanda was still smiling brightly.
But the hand behind her back slowly clenched into a fist.
Georgia gathered her things. Before she got in the car, Amanda grabbed her by the wrist.
Her voice was cold and sinister. "I’m warning you, don’t you dare try any tricks. He’s not for you to touch."
Before Georgia could say anything, the person inside the car urged her to hurry.
Amanda immediately leaned down, showing off her impressive curves. "I haven’t seen Georgia in so long! I actually have so much more I want to talk to her about!"
"Get in!" Elliot Sheridan’s voice was cold. Amanda just laughed and said cheerfully, "Georgia, remember to let me know you got home safe."
"Okay!"
’Is she asking me to let her know I’m safe, or is she trying to confirm the nature of my relationship with Elliot Sheridan?’
She had a vague feeling that certain things couldn’t be hidden for much longer.
There was no client to meet. That night, she naturally went back with Elliot Sheridan to his private apartment.
Owen Sawyer was driving. Georgia stole a glance at Elliot Sheridan out of the corner of her eye, her gaze drifting down to his trousers.
She really had just zoned out; that’s why she’d accidentally knocked over the juice.
’Is it soaked through?’
Just as she was wondering about it, a voice suddenly drifted into her ears.
"What, you’re just going to stare at the mess you made?"
Startled, Georgia’s head shot up, and her eyes met Elliot Sheridan’s deep gaze.
They stared at each other for a few seconds, and her face slowly turned bright red.
She lowered her gaze. "Th-that... I didn’t do it on purpose."
Elliot Sheridan huffed, then reached out to pull her in by the shoulder, toying with her long hair. "If you had done it on purpose, it wouldn’t have just been juice you splashed, would it?"
Georgia was speechless. "..."
’If not juice, what else could it be?’
She looked at Elliot Sheridan with a hint of innocence, her eyes pure and naive.
The black of his pupils deepened. Elliot Sheridan leaned close to her ear and murmured a few words.
Georgia felt a tickling, numbing sensation in her ear. As his deep voice registered, her face flushed an even deeper shade of red.
"Mr. Sheridan, please have some self-respect!"
’Lecherous old man!’
「Private Apartment—」
Georgia was pressed against the door by Elliot Sheridan, her phone ringing from inside her backpack.
"The phone!"
"Don’t care!"
Elliot Sheridan spat out two words before his lips descended on hers again, crushing them fiercely.
’The call must be from Amanda. She’s so suspicious; not answering will only make things worse.’
"Stop, the call is really important. Can I please answer it first?"
Georgia pleaded with him, her eyes wide and pitiful. Elliot Sheridan frowned in displeasure. "You have ten seconds."
Georgia frantically fumbled for her phone and answered the call.
"Georgia, are you home yet?" Fearing that Elliot Sheridan might still be with Georgia, Amanda’s tone was very pleasant.
"I’m home. I was in the shower just now, so I didn’t hear the phone."
"Oh, I see. Then where’s Elliot?"
As she took the call, Elliot Sheridan didn’t let her go. He held her encircled in his arms, so close that he could hear the voice on the other end.
Georgia looked at the man in front of her, the lust in his dark eyes difficult to conceal. She replied, "Mr. Sheridan dropped me off and left. Why don’t you call and ask him?"
She gave Elliot Sheridan a mischievous look. His expression immediately turned icy.
His large, dry hand found her waist. Knowing she was very ticklish, he bent his knuckles and began to slowly tease the skin there.
