Chapter 191: Chapter 181: Blue, How About I Find a Dad for You? (2)

Georgia Thorne fought off her sleepiness, keeping track of the time.

After about twenty-five minutes had passed, Georgia finally sent him a text. "Are you home?"

"Just got here. Why are you still awake?"

"I was waiting for you. I’m going to bed now!"

"Okay!"

Seeing Elliot Sheridan’s reply, Georgia Thorne put down her phone and closed her eyes, finally able to sleep peacefully.

She slept soundly until dawn and woke up at exactly seven o’clock.

Nancy Hughes was also just getting up. She greeted her, "Morning!"

Georgia Thorne was in an excellent mood and went into the kitchen to make some porridge.

"By the way, did you go to the concert by yourself last night?" Nancy Hughes asked curiously after brushing her teeth.

Georgia turned off the stove. "Who else do you think would’ve gone with me?"

’Elliot Sheridan, of course!’

Nancy Hughes screamed inwardly, but she couldn’t say it out loud.

She took a sip of hot porridge. The news on TV was still reporting on Zane Lennox’s disappearance.

Nancy watched the tear-streaked faces of Zane’s parents on the screen. "Where on earth did Zane Lennox go? I heard his parents even called the police!"

Ever since sending her that one text on her wedding day, Zane Lennox had completely vanished.

No one knew where he had gone. Even the police couldn’t find any trace of him.

Worried something had happened to Zane, Georgia Thorne personally went to the Lennox Family estate, but she was stopped at the gate and wasn’t able to see Zachary Lennox.

She had no choice but to entrust the ruby necklace to the butler.

Nancy Hughes quickly finished her breakfast and left for work. While at the concert last night, Georgia had been struck by a sudden burst of inspiration.

Sitting before her easel, her mind flooded with ideas, and she quickly sketched out a draft of her design.

It was after twelve, and as Georgia looked at the completed first draft, she finally felt the emptiness in her stomach. She was starving.

There was nothing to eat in the fridge, so Georgia changed her clothes and prepared to go out.

Her phone, in her pocket, rang. She answered, and Elliot Sheridan’s voice came from the other end. "Where are you?"

"Just heading out."

"Stay right there. Don’t move!"

"What’s wrong?"

Georgia Thorne asked in confusion. The line went silent, and she thought he had hung up, but the call was still connected.

A few minutes later, Elliot’s voice came through again. "How far did you get?"

"I’m just standing at the door. Are you coming over now?"

"Yeah. Go back inside and wait for me!"

"Oh!"

Although she didn’t know what Elliot was planning, Georgia went back inside after the call ended.

After waiting for about ten minutes, she heard the sound of a car engine shutting off below the apartment building. Walking to the window, she saw Elliot get out of his car and turn to enter the building.

A few minutes later, she heard footsteps, and Georgia ran to open the door.

Elliot strode in and grabbed her wrist. "Go change into something beautiful!"

"Huh?" Georgia was stunned by his nonsensical command as he pushed her into the bedroom. "Why?"

Elliot pulled open her closet, sifted through a few dresses, and picked out a bright red one. "Go put this on."

A dress was shoved into her arms. She looked down at what she was wearing. "Is there something wrong with my outfit?"

’A short-sleeved t-shirt and a blue cotton skirt. Everything seems perfectly fine.’

But Elliot frowned. "Either you change, or I’ll change you!"

Georgia, "..."

’Of course I’ll change myself!’

Her face burning, she clutched the red dress and darted into the bathroom.

’I really don’t get what’s going through his head.’

She had bought this dress while out shopping with Nancy Hughes a while ago.

It was an impulse buy; she just saw how pretty it was and bought it.

Later, she decided it was too flashy and had left it hanging in her closet, unworn.

She looked at her reflection in the mirror from various angles. ’Isn’t it a bit too festive?’

When Georgia came out in the new dress, she suddenly noticed that Elliot seemed even more handsome than usual today, as if he had dressed up on purpose.

But then she shook her head. ’He’s a public figure; it’s normal for him to care about his image.’

"Hurry up and put on some makeup!"

"What?" Georgia looked at him, feeling more and more puzzled.

"Is today some special occasion? Changing clothes, putting on makeup... Why all the ceremony!’

"Of course!" Elliot’s brow was furrowed. "Or do you want to have an ugly photo on our marriage certificate?"

Georgia was sure that if she had been drinking water right then, she would have sprayed it all over Elliot’s neck.

His words had completely stunned her.

’What did he just say? Marriage certificate?’

"E-Elliot, where are we going later?"

Her tongue twisted in disbelief. An answer was on the tip of her tongue, floating in her mind, but she didn’t dare acknowledge it before the man confirmed it himself.

’Are we going to...’

"The Civil Affairs Bureau!" Elliot calmly spoke the answer that was in Georgia’s heart.

She was stunned all over again!

Elliot pushed Georgia down into the chair in front of the mirror, pulled out his phone, and said menacingly, "If you dare make yourself look uglier than this, just you try it!"

Georgia glanced at the photo on his phone. It wasn’t just any photo; it was from the day she took her wedding photos with Zane Lennox.

She had no idea where he got it, but judging by the angle, he had probably gotten it from Nancy Hughes.

She looked up into Elliot’s fierce eyes, momentarily speechless.

’Does he really need to be this jealous!’

Georgia applied some light makeup, which greatly improved her complexion.

Elliot stared at her reflection in the mirror and said with dissatisfaction, "Why did you make yourself look so ugly!"

His incredibly jealous tone left Georgia not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

"My makeup skills aren’t as good as a professional’s. This is the best I can do!"

Hearing her explanation, Elliot’s frown relaxed slightly. He grabbed her wrist and started pulling her outside.

"Elliot, I don’t have my household registration booklet!"

Georgia let him pull her into the car. As she fastened her seatbelt, she glanced leisurely at the man beside her. "You can’t get married without a household registration booklet!"

Her family’s registration booklet was always kept by Hayley Sullivan; no one could get their hands on it.

Elliot snorted, pulled a few small booklets from the glove compartment, and tossed them to Georgia.

She flipped them open and took a look. One was his family’s registration booklet, and the other was hers.

"How did you get this from Hayley Sullivan?" Georgia asked in astonishment.

"You think I’d come unprepared?"

Georgia, "..."

He had only just gotten his hands on the booklets this morning.

To prevent other men from lusting after Georgia, he had to make her his wife as soon as possible. Only then could he be at ease.

He absolutely detested seeing other men buzzing around Georgia. It infuriated him!

Although she didn’t know what method he’d used, the household registration booklets were now in her hands.

The car sped along, racing toward the Civil Affairs Bureau.

The car stopped at the entrance, and Georgia suddenly felt afraid to get out.

She turned to look at Elliot, nervously swallowing. "Um, are we really going to register?"

"You think you have a way out of this?" Elliot shot her a cold glance and got out of the car.

Georgia sat in the car, watching as Elliot walked around the front, opened her door, and his icy expression broke into a teasing smile. "I’d be more than happy to carry my wife in to get married."

Georgia’s face flushed red. She unbuckled her seatbelt and got out of the car herself.

She was so nervous her palms were sweating. Elliot grabbed her small hand and held it tightly in his. "Relax. We’re getting married, not robbing a bank!"

"This is my first time going into the Civil Affairs Bureau with a man!" Georgia muttered under her breath, her head down.

It was quiet, but Elliot still heard it.

"It’s my first time, too!"

"Oh!"

Georgia gave a weak "oh," her heart still pounding frantically. She felt a deep sense of uncertainty.

There were very few people registering for marriage at this time of day. Elliot and Georgia each filled out a form. When it came time to sign, the hand she held the pen with couldn’t help but tremble a little.

’If I really sign this, then we’ll really be husband and wife.’

Beside her, Elliot had already finished signing. He turned to see Georgia paused, gripping her pen.

"What’s wrong? Forgotten how to write your own name?" Elliot said with extreme gentleness.

He leaned toward Georgia, his clean scent enveloping her. As she breathed it in, a sense of peace inexplicably washed over her.

Georgia suddenly turned her head, remembering something. "Do you know where Zane Lennox is?"

The moment the words left her mouth, the man’s face turned ashen, and his sharp eyes glared at her fiercely.

Georgia’s heart trembled. Realizing she had said the wrong thing, she quickly grabbed the pen and signed her name.

’I was just asking out of curiosity.’

After signing the papers, taking the photos, and paying the fee, everything was done.

Georgia held the marriage certificate, but she wasn’t as happy as she’d imagined she would be. On the contrary, she felt a little frustrated.

She was the one who had proposed, so how did she end up being the one rushed into it?

Georgia turned her head and glanced sideways at the man beside her. His expression was still dark.

It was probably because she had mentioned Zane Lennox earlier.

She had known Elliot for four years, more or less. While she couldn’t claim to know him best, she had a pretty good grasp of his personality.

He gets extremely jealous, gets angry for no reason, and is always putting on an act.

’I refuse to believe that when I was about to marry Zane, he wasn’t anxious or angry at all.’

She proactively linked her arm with his and smiled placatingly. "Alright, don’t be angry anymore!"

Elliot turned his head to glare at her, his lips pressed into a thin line.

Georgia hastily plastered a radiant smile on her face and blinked at Elliot, trying to act cute.

But the man pushed her arm away and commented coldly, "You look hideous!"

Georgia, "..."

She watched him get into the car, speechless.

’Men really do change so much after they get married.’

Georgia followed him into the car. Seeing Elliot’s tense face, she said lightly, "If you’re so angry, then let’s go get a divorce right now!"

As soon as the words were out, an arm suddenly wrapped around her, cupping the back of her head.

He pulled her toward him, his hot breath closing in and sealing her red lips.

After a deep kiss, he said, "Have you ever seen anyone get a divorce right after getting married?!"

The world might see Elliot Sheridan as noble and great, but to her, at this moment, the man before her could be described in a single word.
