Chapter 127: Chapter 125: You’ve Lost Your Mind
Mrs. Sheridan was getting on in years, but her eyes were still sharp.
Her grandson had just walked through the door and immediately pressed the young woman against it, kissing her so passionately that it made an old woman like her embarrassed just to watch.
He was at an age of powerful passions, and just a moment ago, she had been wondering why her grandson hadn’t found himself a woman yet.
It turned out he already had one in secret.
Mrs. Sheridan’s eyes were sharp, and she spotted Georgia Thorne hiding behind her grandson in an instant. Her thin, reedy voice trembled as she said, "Stop hiding. This old lady has seen it all—what I was supposed to see and what I wasn’t!"
It was the first time she’d seen youngsters kissing, and it had truly made her old face flush.
Hiding behind the man, Georgia Thorne subconsciously tightened her grip on his shirt.
Elliot Sheridan smiled. "Grandma, what brings you here in person today?"
Very few people knew about his apartment, which was why no one ever came calling. The main reason he kept it was for the peace and quiet.
Mrs. Sheridan wasn’t falling for it. Her gaze was fixed on Georgia Thorne. "Are you going to come out or not? You’ve already followed my grandson all the way home!"
Georgia Thorne’s scalp prickled. It seemed she couldn’t hide any longer. She stepped out from behind Elliot Sheridan, trembling, and said, "Miss Sheridan, hello."
’This is Elliot Sheridan’s grandmother!’
When Georgia Thorne was with Selena Sheridan, she had heard plenty of stories about Selena’s great-grandfather and great-grandmother.
The old couple cherished their privacy, living in their own separate residence, and only visited the Sheridan estate for major events.
Georgia Thorne had only been to the Sheridan estate a few times, so naturally, she had never met the two elders.
Georgia Thorne was extremely flustered. She never imagined that the first elder from his family she would meet after they started officially dating would be his grandmother.
Mrs. Sheridan sized Georgia Thorne up and asked, "Young lady, what’s your name, and how old are you?"
"My name is Georgia Thorne, and I’m twenty-one!" Facing a member of the older generation, Georgia Thorne didn’t dare to be anything but respectful.
"Twenty-one?" Mrs. Sheridan mumbled the number, then asked her grandson, "How old is Selena this year? Seventeen, eighteen?"
Elliot Sheridan gripped Georgia Thorne’s hand and gave her palm a reassuring squeeze, guiding her to sit down.
He answered in a perfectly straight-faced manner, "Selena is also twenty-one this year. Georgia is her classmate. They’re the same age."
"What did you say!" Furious, Mrs. Sheridan grabbed her cane from the side and swung it at Elliot Sheridan’s thigh. "Have you lost your mind? Hitting on Selena’s classmate? Have you no shame!"
Mrs. Sheridan put real force behind that swing.
Unexpectedly, Elliot Sheridan didn’t dodge, simply taking the hit.
"Grandma, it’s not ’hitting on her.’ We’re dating. The feelings are mutual!"
Georgia Thorne sat ramrod straight. Seeing Elliot Sheridan get hit made her heart ache for him.
But with Mrs. Sheridan right there, she couldn’t exactly check on his injury.
"A mutual relationship? Don’t you try to fool this old woman. Tell me the truth, what’s really going on!" Mrs. Sheridan’s face was stern, and she was clearly furious.
’To finally see a woman by her grandson’s side should be a joyous occasion, but this girl was just too young.’
’At twenty-one, there was a whole twelve-year age gap between her and Elliot. She was young enough to be like Selena and call him Second Uncle!’ ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
"Grandma, if you hadn’t coughed just now, your grandson would have carried her straight into the bedroom!"
Mrs. Sheridan was a woman of the world; how could she not understand the implication in Elliot Sheridan’s words?
’He was so ferocious just now; it’s a wonder he didn’t snap the poor girl’s waist.’
Unable to get a straight answer out of her own grandson, Mrs. Sheridan turned her attention back to the fair and delicate-looking Georgia Thorne.
"Young lady, I want to hear it from you. What is your relationship with my grandson?"
Put on the spot, Georgia Thorne’s body stiffened even more. She looked at Mrs. Sheridan, too nervous to utter a single word.
"Grandma, asking her like that will scare her off. You have to be gentler!"
Elliot Sheridan stroked Georgia Thorne’s back. He knew she was nervous, but there was nothing to be done.
No one could have predicted something like this.
He leaned in and whispered in her ear, "Just say whatever you want to say."
Georgia Thorne gave a dry laugh. ’As if I could just say whatever I want!’
"We’re dating!" Georgia Thorne finally stammered out after a long pause.
"When did you start dating?"
"Just recently."
"My grandson was the one who pursued you, wasn’t he?" Mrs. Sheridan narrowed her eyes, certain that was the case.
"Er..."
’She really had no idea how to answer that!’
Meeting Elliot Sheridan’s grandmother had made Georgia Thorne so nervous that even the sound of her own voice had changed.
