Seeing Logan Langdon walk into the distance, Faye Yardley didn’t return directly to her raft. Instead, she began to explore the ice in other directions.

After carving out a hole the size of a basketball, Faye Yardley waited quietly beside it.
The dark shadow swimming back and forth was actually more or less following her movements. Even if it swam past her, it would circle back after a while.
Sure enough, less than ten minutes later, water began to GURGLE from the broken hole in the ice. Soon, a dark head squeezed out, followed by numerous tentacles.

But she couldn’t even sever a single tentacle!

Only when the entire Sea Monster squeezed out of the hole, radiating fury, did Faye Yardley get a clear look at it—it was a mutated Octopoid Monster.
Of course, by now, one of its tentacles was already severed. Wasting nothing, Faye Yardley immediately stored the detached piece in her backpack.
The fight had, of course, caught the attention of Willow, who was watching Faye closely. She gauged the distance between the Octopoid Monster and the raft, calculating the Arrow Tower’s range. She had to provide her sister with timely support.
Faye Yardley’s battle with the Octopoid Monster also naturally caught the attention of Logan Langdon in the distance.
"Tsk, I didn’t expect the pretty girl to be a kung fu master. No wonder. But these contaminated Sea Monsters aren’t easy to kill. But as its wounds multiplied and more of its tentacles were severed, the Sea Monster was actually struck with the urge to flee back into the sea.
After fighting this long, victory was within reach. Faye Yardley wasn’t about to let it escape. She weaved and dodged, changing direction to block the monster’s path to the ice hole.
On the raft, Willow Yardley was watching the battle intently, but she didn’t dare fire any arrows. Her sister was fighting the Sea Monster in close quarters, and she could easily be hit by the Arrow Tower’s indiscriminate attacks.
So, no matter how worried she was, all she could do was keep a close eye on the battle, not daring to relax for a second.
After a full half-hour of fighting, Faye Yardley finally finished off the Octopoid Monster with its vigorous Life Force.

"Yes."

"Energy Baryte! I can finally build my Energy Defense Tower." Faye Yardley thought the other items were so-so, but the Energy Baryte was the real prize.
Killing Sea Monsters could, or perhaps would definitely, yield Energy Baryte. This made Faye Yardley eager to go out and hunt a few more right away.
Meanwhile, Logan Langdon, who had been watching from a distance, saw the Sea Monster disappear, and his expression soured.
’A pretty girl is cutest when she’s sweet and gentle, of course. A little cold and proud is also acceptable. But one who seems to be on par with my own abilities... I don’t like that so much.’
’If a woman like that were to get close to me, she’d be too possessive. She’d demand my undivided attention.’

Although her Talent had given her an extra Energy Baryte, she still didn’t have enough to build the Energy Defense Tower.
