Chapter 349: Going to the Pirate Lands [1]
"I expect that you are all ready, Lucas," Xiulong said as soon as he arrived in Lucas’s chambers.
Lucas, who was expecting Xiulong’s arrival, sighed and replied. " Whatever you call it--training, preparation, or lack thereof--I’m not ready. I didn’t have much time to train and even less time to read up on the things I needed to do."
Xiulong looked at Lucas in disbelief.
"What do you mean? Have I not already said that you need to kill the Pirate King while I am away? It should not take me long, so I was not able to give you much time, and it is not on our side. I hoped that you already knew that."
Lucas couldn’t help but laugh at Xiulong’s serious face. He then took out his sword from his dimensional storage.
"The sword is a weapon that doesn’t know when to be used. As I am already a weapon myself, I should not expect how to be used when the time comes. It’s like speaking on behalf of yourself even though I wasn’t aware of what to say or do."
"You don’t need to be that deep to explain to me that. I just want to let you know that the Pirate King is a strong immortal, not that you shouldn’t underestimate him despite the fact that I wasn’t able to explain things to you that well."
"As well as the Pirate Lands. I should not underestimate it since most of them are already immortals, and Pirate Lands is a place that wasn’t actually part of the Mortal Heaven. It was just designated, but physically, it isn’t part. So, the divine powers that created that place were something that I won’t even be able to understand, so underestimation is out of option."
"Yes, Lucas. The Pirate Lands is a prison for the pirates from the Immortal Heaven. While the Sea Continent still catered to pirates for some reason, and their group had already become weakened, the Pirate Lands were different since they were free to cause havoc inside. It is up to them if they want to suffer." Xiulong said.
"Even though I am not well-informed about the kinds of immortals from Immortal Heaven are, and the continents as well, I might try to understand what you said. They were all basics." Lucas sighed and then answered, even though doing so was slightly frustrating. He couldn’t do anything about the problem.
As Lucas and Xiulong went out of his chambers, Lucas asked about what kind of people pirates were. He’d never gotten the chance to ask that question before and had never felt the need; but now, with an opportunity to learn, he wanted to know. Furthermore, it could be helpful to ease his worries.
"Even though it should be your responsibility to know it on your own, I will still help you." Xiulong calmly said. "Pirates are strong water bandits. They plunder, and rape resources. It is their distinct nature from other groups of immortals, but what is more surprising is that they are tenacious. They couldn’t be easily defeated by other groups, hence, when they got to hold the Sea Continent for their own use, they almost dominated the world. Even the immortals from the undergrounds, who rarely walk out under the sun fought them to keep the peace. They were basically just greedy for treasure."
Lucas nodded. He had already heard of pirates from Encanta; however, since these pirates were different from their counterparts in Encanta, he wanted to know what he should prepare for. And as he realized that these people were no joke, threatening the whole Immortal Realm--an impressive feat--he anticipated that it would be a difficult mission for him.
The entire Mortal Heaven was already a challenge for him since he couldn’t kill with the worries of the karmic points skyrocketing. But now, much stronger opponents are appearing in his life. However, he wasn’t worried about this time to kill--since basically, pirates were ruled as criminals by the ambassador of the Immortal Heaven. What he was worried about was fighting stronger opponents who obviously had more cultivation.
"What is the number of these pirates?"
"Almost two thousand. While I still don’t know what was happening inside the Pirate Lands, I am well aware that the pirates will cause problems with the Pirate King alive. Pirate King is basically what drives these pirates to act and cause havoc."
Lucas nodded multiple times as they approached the end of the Eastern Continent. And when he glanced up at the sky, he thought of the Immortal Heaven, Xiulong tapped him on the back.
"You still need to learn one thing. The Pirate King is rumored to be an Immortal King Realm cultivator, which is four stages higher than you. And it will make you live a tough life. So... you should expect to find your way to kill him in a few years. And be careful with the disciples from the Celestial Heaven. They will be able to descend to the Pirate Lands since they were allowed to."
Lucas asked again. "What if the Divine Emperor orders to kill the Pirate King with elites from his realm?"
Xiulong awkwardly smile as he said, "The Divine Emperor isn’t that reliable."
"How come?"
"You wouldn’t understand even if I tell you. It will just sound absurd, but when the time comes, I will explain things to you that you’ll be able to understand."
Lucas just nodded and followed Xiulong to the outside of Pirate Lands where boundaries were the divine power making the transparent barrier. However, outside, it was only terrain of nothingness, green mountains, and scenery of nature, there wasn’t any sign of human touch or just living creatures around.
It was the feature to hide what was inside and only those who had lived or had known the long run of history lived with the "small islands." And as Lucas watched how he was slowly getting intrigued by the new environment he would enter, he smiled and sighed.
’This is it, huh... What a life full of events would be. At least, this will be enough for me to persuade myself that this is life.’ Lucas thought. ƒrēewebnovel.com

The moon had come out from behind the mountains, and the evening sky was lit with a ghostly pale light. As she opened her eyes and adjusted to the new environment around her, Ellisa noticed how soft and gentle the threads of moonlight were in a dense canopy.
She was laying down in a forest of nothingness but just greens. She lifted her body to inspect, only to see her sibling that just woke up as well.
"Are we now in the 10 Hell’s Judgement Path?" she asked herself, as the surroundings started changing slowly with the night ending as the moon went to the west then the sun came after coming from the east.
The surroundings slowly turned to white, just white then slowly being painted with circles around them, standing huge concrete cylinder with all of them on top, and the gaps between their footing were just darkness of the deep abyss.
She exhaled, then started calling them one by one. They woke up to her call and began to be observant of their surroundings. Lukros, who woke first from the rest, looked below and felt the cold wind kissing his face. Ureff, who tried to create blood threads grunted due to failure. The rest of them tried to assess what had changed, and there were plenty.
"Welcome to the First Judgement Path." A female’s faint yet soothing voice uttered around them with no exact direction of where it was coming from.
Lucas’s familiars looked at each other then nodded.
"What should we do?" Without beating around the bush, Quatro asked an unknown entity that just arrived at their curiosity.
"You don’t ask. No ascension applicants should ask. But, as this will be your first time, I will explain things to you since you looked like a stupid child who was just full of curiosity and couldn’t even wait for the speaker to end their speech. But anyway, this is what you should do."
The sudden change of her tone made everyone confused, but nonetheless, they weren’t bothered by it as the voice started explaining things in the First Judgement.
"First Judgement is run, and what you should do is just to run without asking any question. You need to run and reach the end of this place before the sun sets. Hence, run."
’What is this? A stupid explanation at its finest...’ Ellisa thought before it became dim as if it was just a newly rising sun from the east. And as Ellisa and the others realized it, they all nodded.
"I guess what she meant about running is jumping? How should we run properly with these disconnected concretes? Down there should be death." Ellisa said.
Everyone nodded to her concern, but as there wasn’t anything they could do but just pass through this path, they all started running, including hopping and jumping to different concretes of the enormous concrete cylinders.
