Chapter 335: The Candidates [2]

I wanted to look for the candidates for ascension, but I couldn’t find each one of them as I didn’t have anything to refer to.

So, as a rushed decision coming from me, I would be looking at every corner of the central region to see who had the cultivation base for ascension.

I didn’t really have anything to do. As far as I was concerned, I just needed to decide what to do with them since I would be putting my blood flowing with theirs to help their growth.

But, I was still having second thoughts on whether I should offer them my blood or not. After all, they were not Master, and Master didn’t personally ask me to give them my blood. And as I had noticed him, the chance of him asking for my blood would be slim.

I saw someone who had already reached the first level of the Emperor Spirit Realm. He had a dark aura around him, similar to the Master but slightly darker, and had a handsome appearance to consider. He was currently talking to a human who had no cultivation, nor chance of fighting against a cultivator, but I was confused as other soldiers had been addressing him as if he was kind of an important person.

I just didn’t know. He might be someone coming from a background, but that was not a problem anymore. For now, I should probably watch him and observe.

After a day of following and observing, I finally got to know his name. He is Gabriel Fang, a person with a unique physique that could gather the same unique Qi as Master, but in a less efficient way. After all, Master was greater than him.

And from what I had discovered, he was the youngest general, and the one he was talking to earlier was his "rival." I didn’t know the details, but it would be perplexing that he considered that weak human as his rival. On what grounds?

Releasing a confused sigh, I returned back to my chambers and walked just like a human should do. But my attention was drawn to the person who lacked cultivation.

He is named Jake, and he seemed to have a rank in the military of the Xiao Dynasty. But, he shouldn’t be just a squad member from a lower squad. There was no way that he would be from a special squad.

"I greet the 20th Elite Squad Leader, Senior Brother Jake."

My jaw almost dropped with my eyes falling off their sockets. Don’t tell me, he was from a special squad, and what was more surprising was that they addressed him as a squad leader.

What had come to the Eastern Continent for them to hire someone incompetent as a squad leader?

But, I couldn’t underestimate the Eastern Continent just because of him. They were great, and Master honed them, so I cannot judge them. But this guy was just too insignificant to the continent to be a squad leader.

"I don’t know anymore." I groaned, then ignored that human. I had nothing to do with him anymore. So be it. There was no enemy anymore.

The next day, Master still hadn’t come home to the Eastern Continent. I was not worried, but rather, I wanted to see him again. There should be a banquet for him, to celebrate his success. But, there wasn’t one, as he was not even here.

But, it didn’t mean that I should stop doing what I should be doing now. I needed to see other candidates again, and so I observed another one and another one until I got to see the rest of the candidates.

Some of them were just sect elders and organizational leaders... So, for them to reach the Emperor Spirit Realm, they should have talent. Master was not enough for them to reach the Emperor Spirit Realm just because he could influence them. For sure, even without him, they had reached their bottleneck, but they were already at a stage where it was hard to break through anymore.

King Spirit Realm was the best for humans who had talents to cultivate, and those who were rare could even reach greater things, it was the Emperor Stage. Even though it could be their bottleneck, when they ascend, they could search for a way to break through.

The techniques were not enough. There should be talent, and to consider it, the Eastern Continent was blessed with people who had blessed constitutional bodies. Their physiques were surely amazing, but they wouldn’t have anyone to share with the scarce, unique Qi they needed to gather.

"Fiona, have you thought about what you need to do?" I heard Lia’s voice as she entered through the balcony of my chambers. Behind her descending was the moonlight, which gave more beauty to her, showering the soft light on her skin.

I shook my head internally and ignored that funny idea. I then faced her as I left my bed and stood up before her.

"What are you doing in my chambers? You should enter through the door!"

"Hm? I don’t like passing through the door. It is such a hassle to walk. I want to float."

Whatever. I rolled my eyes and went back to my bed and dived into it. Ah... I really loved this soft and smooth mattress.

"So, you won’t answer my question?" She asked in a slightly annoyed tone.

I turned my body and answered her. Although I had no energy, I just answered her to erase any tension in the ambiance.

"I still haven’t decided. With what you mentioned to me the past few days, you were implying that we would be their tools to be more powerful. There was nothing to gain, so I had my reasons to be tentative." I reasoned.

Indeed, my blood would be useful for the candidates, but what would I get back? I had already ignored all the effects of the unique blessed constitutional bodies of the Easterners in the past since they had lesser effects. Compared to the greatest ancestor of the Xiao Bloodline, there wasn’t anything good to get from their blood. They didn’t affect me any at all.

"Was this still your addiction to blood, Fiona? Wasn’t it enough that you killed Yuna’s father and drank his blood?"

I paused as soon as I heard her say that. My arms instinctively moved and my body rose. I was now in front of her. My left hand was gathering Qi with one finger and had her neck pointed.

"Try mentioning it as if I didn’t have any reason to do it, or else..."

"Or else what?"

"Or else, I will fight you, Lia, even if I have to die. For you to insult me and my species’ habits, I don’t know how I will react."

I heard her scoff, which annoyed me more. fгeewebnovёl.com

"Don’t worry, I am not here to provoke you. I just remembered that you still remember that you were still thirsty for blood. Even though your nature subsided, it was still your nature."

"Shut up." I hissed, returning my Qi to normal, then turned my back. "I will tell you my decision when it is due. So, just don’t bother my sleep."

I heard her chuckle softly again. That was making me more irritated, but I should contain myself. There was nothing to gain from simple matters. After all, a snake couldn’t suck blood. So, we had to find ways to strengthen our bodies as normal divine beasts, and that was to drink human blood. But, since there was nothing special in their blood anymore, I was able to subdue my nature.

"Your blood could strengthen anyone’s foundation and dantian. Remember that... That is why you are crucial to help. Even the other two don’t help, you should help too," she said.

I smiled. I knew that. Her blood could boost the cultivation speed by ten times and my blood could strengthen their dantian, which would make their training sufficient since they had more energy and had stronger dantian to rely on. The fear of having Qi deviation would be low.

"Just leave already."

I saw her finally leave after a short smile. I was relieved.

So now I should know what I would do. For me to know what I should do... was to know what it would be for me. The answers to Lia’s question would be just yes or no, which would make it easy for me to think about what it would be for me. But, for what?

Should I just wait until Master asked me personally to help them with my blood? Or, should I think on my own? I didn’t know, but what I was sure of was that this would be their journey, not Master’s.

Why did Lia want to help them? I forgot to ask that... nevertheless, it wouldn’t harm me to help them. Master could make use of them in Upper Heavens. They could be a help to him in some ways, so having a familiar person in the Upper Heaven would be better.

I see... so that was what I should do. I needed to invest in something, for Master to act more efficiently in the Upper Heaven. After all, Master was destined for greater...
