Chapter 329: Crossing [1]

Creatures in a world where only the strongest would survive were destined to clash. Order was only there to keep things together, but no one could destroy an order that wasn’t meant to keep things together.

Legacy was one of the orders that weren’t meant to keep things together. It was an occurrence that would devastate the order that everyone had grown accustomed to. As a result, when Xiulong received the legacy to create Lucas as a candidate for the new Divine Emperor, he followed each step.

He went back in time and caused a commotion before transporting Lucas to the Four Heavens via the Universal Bridge, which an ambassador should seal. He went to great lengths to keep himself entertained, which was his legacy’s purpose for him.

He then left Lucas with the legacy of destroying the established order. He did not, however, anticipate everything going wrong. He should have done better, but he couldn’t because his legacy was against the current Divine Emperor.

Lucas walked through between two huge statues, which were references to the Emperor and the founder of the Dan Dynasty.

"You... are the one who is challenging the Great Lord Emperor? You are tiny."

Lucas just arrived at the Northern Continent. He went all the trouble to use the Right Guardian as his messenger, and just as he knew that they would hold the challenge proudly, he got an idea of the context he should relay. But, things weren’t as smooth as he expected. After all, a challenger should take everything that comes their way.

Lucas stood in front of a huge creature, similar to the divine beasts he had met so far. Although Lia hadn’t been exclusive to him about her divine beast form, he was not elated that he would have the chance to see it as he asked for Lia and Fiona’s assistance this time. This would be the last phase of the invasion of the Northern Continent, and after it would be just cleaning.

The pressure it had could kill a tiny human, whose aura had been violent since birth. Just as he stopped before it, its eyes were pinning him down.

Blue flames around its neck as its mane, a giant lion stood before Lucas, stopping him from going deeper into the Emperor’s Hall. It was just a giant lion, but the pressure it had was greater than all the pressure he had met so far.

Lia was stronger than Fiona, but combining their pressure wouldn’t even be compared to the azure lion that was stopping him from advancing. It had created a huge fire wall that almost reached the sky, and a raging water stream of pressure coming from its cultivation.

"So is your lord."

"Human... how dare you insult my lord. You, as a tiny creature, won’t be against me. I will stop you as the Great Azure Flame Lion that led all the magical beasts in the past before some of them were forced to ascend to the upper heaven. You, as an enemy and threat to the Emperor, shall die before my presence." The lion roared.

"Hmm... What is your name?"

"Rumadri is my na--! You don’t deserve to know my name." Rumadri roared.

Lucas, who looked at him with a rather ridiculed expression, raised his eyebrow before showing his smile. "You just said your name, Rumadri."

"That isn’t my name!"

"Well then, Rumadri. It doesn’t matter who you are to me now. I just wanted to know something about how I should address you since I was thinking of being your friend. But this isn’t the right time as we are in a war. So..." Lucas disappeared. "As I wanted things to happen, I hope that Lia and Fiona handle you well."

Rumadri’s pale amber eyes widened as he slowly peeked at Lucas, who was now behind him, who had also passed through his wall of fire. His eyes wanted to shout doubt and surprise, but then, two other giant creatures arrived. One had red and orange feathers and the other one had white. The first to arrive had a long beak, whereas the other one had a unique and bizarre body as it was a serpent instead of a bird.

"Rumadri... you still follow the Northern Continent even though he has harmed everything around him, especially innocent people who don’t know about this war," Lia shouted as soon as she turned to her human form and walked with her alluring body of ample breasts and curved waist.

"Shut up, bird! You don’t know who the Great Lord Emperor is? He is great, compared to the land that you support."

"You are still a brat, Rumadri. Do you think that there wasn’t any reason why we were exempted from ascending and we have the same affinity, which was the fire? Do you think there wasn’t any reason?" Fiona said as she followed Fiona walked in her human form before Rumadri, who was looking down at them in her colossal form.

"You too, snake? Whatever the reason, I don’t care. I simply wanted everything good for the Great Lord Emperor. And if you are here to harm him, I have no choice but to kill you, no matter how close we were in the past before the legacy." Rumadri hissed.

Lia couldn’t help but shrug with a tired look at Rumadri as he turned into his human form. Azure flames were still around the neck of his buff body. And before another word came out of his mouth, Lia suddenly exploded with her pressure as she rushed to Rumadri at a speed that any normal human couldn’t perceive.

Fiona followed and got herself a set of feathers. The three of them created a huge explosion and a screeching sound afterward, as they didn’t stop with just one explosion. Explosions didn’t stop as their attacks were filled with violent Qi that had been compressed with the affinity they had.

Lucas smiled as he continued to walk past the fire wall and proceeded to enter the dark Emperor Hall. It was just like the other halls, but there wasn’t any light in here. A lantern or lamp wasn’t present, so he created one with his light affinity. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

Slightly golden light in the shape of a lamp appeared in his hands, and it brought everything clear to his eyes. The Emperor’s Hall wasn’t dark anymore. The furniture was given light to be revealed, as well as the path that he needed to walk so that he could reach where the Emperor was.

The Emperor was just at the other end of the hall, sitting on his throne as if he wasn’t even concerned about what was happening. And just as he had the moment to take his time, he watched Lucas walking down the path which would lead him to him.

A proud smile was on Lucas’s face when he arrived. He didn’t know what to feel anymore. He was just proud that he had to finish this first phase of the legacy without even killing one person by himself.

"Hello, Emperor."

"Ah..." The Emperor sounded, then eyed Lucas’s cultivation base. He gave a short smile as he continued his words. "Peak of the Emperor Spirit Realm...? Surprising, I haven’t seen one in the past that reached the same stage as mine."

Lucas’s eyebrows raised as he thought with interest.

"Cultivation takes time to breakthrough to another level. Don’t you have any bottleneck?"

"What is the purpose of ascension if I let a bottleneck stop me from breaking through?"

"Reasonable."

Lucas knew that he wasn’t normal. He knew that he cultivated faster than normal, and even those who had talent wouldn’t be able to match his cultivation within a short amount of time.

There were three different things that should be focused on to cultivate faster: talent, cultivation technique, and density of pure Qi. Qi with impurities just like the chaotic Qi that was present at the peak of Ming Mountain was useless. Although the density was high, the amount of cultivable Qi was low. Hence, the altitude of a place wasn’t just a matter to depend on; there was still the purity of Qi.

"So... you think that your talent would just be useless in this Heaven. That is why you wanted to be the ambassador. But I thought that you wanted to rule over the Mortal Heaven." Lucas said.

The Emperor smirked, then said, "I can do both. While I ascend, I will rule over Mortal Heaven. Those two things are important to me, so I will get those two."

"You are crazy. That is impossible. So, how about I do the deed instead of you, and I promise to do a better job? Instead of ruling, I will lead the Mortal Heaven to prosperity and harmony."

"What a joke. You don’t get it. Cultivators cultivate to have power, and everything that matters to cultivators should be just power. That is why I accepted your challenge to see if you have the power that I could covet." The Emperor responded as he still had the grin on his face.

"Hmm... Perhaps... I will break my promise. I might kill someone today, not because I think that you deserve it, but instead, I think you will be a problem to me in the future."

The Emperor scoffed, then a person appeared from behind his throne.

"Dream on, trespasser. You will die here first." The man said before he stepped down from the platform that the throne was sitting on.

"Since you came from his left, then you should be the Left Guardian."
