Chapter 247: Quanzhi is for You, while Xiaozhin is for Me

The sun came out after dawn, and the roosters nearby crowed to indicate that another day had come. Lucas opened his eyes and the next moment he knew, a familiar presence was nearby. He also noticed that the Heavenly Moon Shadows guarding the place were taunting his subordinate as he was strange and also unidentified as someone who was an ally or foe.

Lucas let out a sigh, slapping his forehead in frustration. The morning had just come; how could he feel frustrated in the early morning?

"Hey, what is it about?" Lucas asked with an obviously bored tone in his voice.

"Lord Lucas, someone here is claiming that he is your subordinate. We have no choice but to confront him since he might be a threat. Fortunately, he is not fighting."

Lucas didn’t reply and just looked at his subordinate. He was a young man who had obvious handsome features and also had a noble aura. And what more about him? He did not have any Qi in him.

"So, Jake, you have arrived." As soon as Lucas said those words, Ji An’s subordinates lowered their weapons and their heads as well, asking for forgiveness from Lucas.

"Forgive us for the inconvenience, Lord Lucas. We did not expect that he was telling the truth."

Lucas just shook his hands and dismissed it. "It’s okay." Then, he continued to attend to Jake and then let him approach him. "Did you find the information I was asking for? About where are the weakest and easiest sects and organizations to control?"

As Jake had the capability to sense someone stronger than him, or at least people’s cultivation without getting noticed as a powerful individual, Lucas gave him this task to finish their mental invasion of the province.

It took Jake months to gather the information, and with Lucas’s wide range of telepathy with registered individuals and also trackers in each of them, he was able to easily contact Jake, even if it was only one way.

Jake then approached Lucas and lowered his head. "Yes, Grandmaster. I have already searched for easy targets."

Lucas nodded. "I see... That is good. You did well, Jake."

After hearing it, Jake’s face immediately beamed with flickering eyes. It was as if he had been greatly rewarded for what he had done. However, it was obvious that Lucas didn’t, but only recognized the completion of his task.

"Then let’s meet with Ji An. You have to tell us everything you discovered." Lucas stated, then made his way to where Ji An was currently training.

And as they arrived at the location where Ji An was, he instantly stopped what he was doing and turned to face Lucas, who had someone behind him. And as Ji An’s eyes fell on him, he knew that Jake was Lucas’s subordinate, whom he mentioned last night.

"I see... So he was the subordinate you alluded to the other night. I apologize. I wasn’t able to mention that your subordinate would come. I forgot." Ji An lowered his head.

"It is okay. He is here to tell us what happened and the plans that we are going to perform. You and I are in the same boat now, Ji An."

[Jake’s Point of View]

I just arrived here to tell Grand Master about the things I learned. However, I did not expect the Grand Master to recruit a local that was willing to help us. He is really incredible and a master at taking people’s hearts.

Just how did he do that? I thought that people on this continent had no other views of their enemies but only enemies.

’Oh shit... Thinking is not the best for me. Let us live the thinking to Grand Master.’

But, I just couldn’t ignore the fact that my master was raised by this amazing person. I mean, being amazing is an understatement. He is powerful and great, above all that this continent should bow to.

’Hehehe... I can’t control my smug face anymore. The more I feel being directly under Grand Master, the more I feel I am more powerful than that bastard Gabriel.’

’Hmmm... But where is he? I am curious about where Grand Master dropped the location of his mission. Well, I don’t care, I just need to do everything Grand Master orders me.’

Grand Master told me to tell Lord Ji An, whom he recruited to help his cause. And as time passed, the narration of everything I learned was completely delivered to them.

I was breathless as it was long. But, as I finished it, I didn’t expect their faces were blank. It was as if they didn’t believe what I said.

"Grand Master, everything I said was real," I said in a low tone.

"I know... But, I just didn’t expect the simplicity of your report. This is your first time, right?" Lucas asked.

"Yes,"

For some reason, that question was making me nervous. At this rate, my heartbeat was becoming rapid, and I was going insane from not knowing what to do next.

"It is superb, Jake. You just saved our time. We don’t need to assess things more since you were already excellent in your report. Do you agree, Ji An?" Grand Master faced Lord Ji An with that question and a clear delighted expression on his face.

’Wait... This is not nervousness anymore. This is more like a feeling of being praised. Please...! I can’t hide my face if this continues!’

"Yes, I agree, Brother Lucas. Your subordinate is good at reporting the things that we need."

"Hmm... That is right. So, as the next matter we needed to tackle, Ji An, you are going to have Quanzhi on your hands. With the information, Quanzhi is for you, while Xiaozhin is for me."

Xiaozhin... It was the province next to us...

I was just looking at the two of them. They were talking about their plans, while I was still feeling excited about the praise that I had received from the two of them.

"What do you mean, Lucas?"

"With the information from my subordinate, having the Quanzhi won’t be difficult, right?"

"I was just planning to have a good number of people infiltrate the Chaotic Shadow Sect. But with what you said, I don’t know what to say. I am still speechless."

Grand Master let out a sigh and smiled afterward.

"This is an opportunity for you, Ji An. To have the easiest domination of the continent and end the tyrannic government of the emperor, I should take things in haste."

"Lucas... Okay... I understand."

[Brian Chang’s Point of View]

’What a tiring day... This should be okay, right? I had already left Ram City and was on my way to the nearest border, which was next to the Xiaozhin Province. Even though I know that it is against my will, I have no choice since this city is at least slightly good for my goal.’ freeweɓnovel.cѳm

Even if I wanted to be an independent warrior, I should have experienced becoming a warrior first, but before I could experience that, I ran away from home to jump hugely. But, I miserably failed.

So, for me to have a better chance, I should work and learn martial arts in a better environment. I should not only have techniques but the basics of how they were used.

I still didn’t have cultivation, but, because of my strong intuition, I could easily escape dangerous people.

And as things had been that way for me, I eventually gained the vigilance of those I encountered.

I let out a sigh as I entered an inn. This should be the only inn in the city of warriors. Mercenary or independent, this was the right place for me.

But first, I should learn where to learn. But, I could have that tomorrow...

What the fuck? Whom did I just see...?

My eyes trembled as I entered the inn. I saw a familiar person. It was the same person from my shop in the marketplace before, who had an eerie feeling around him.

For fucking sake! Why now? I am escaping death because I still didn’t achieve what I desired, and obviously, being around him is dangerous because of the eerie feeling around him. Things started in that way, and that was obviously dangerous!

’But shit here! Do I have any choice, do I? I don’t have! I have no other choice but to take this inn and live here for a few months while selling anything I could think of.’

’It is a different matter. What I need to do is to be away from this man.’

’But why is he here? Is he a hunter for hire? Even if the province had become more lenient, there was no way this man could travel without being paid for a job that required his ability to fast. At least that’s the current trend in missions that take months. Or is he here on a mission?’

I didn’t care anymore and ignored the man. But, as I wanted to, my eyes were caught on the person next to him. It was his company, and I just couldn’t ignore the person next to him. For some reason, he also had an odd feeling around him, but it was rather pleasing and soothing.

’What the hell is this again? Why do I need to do this? Shit! I don’t want to die. Being around them will be a danger to me, even if the other person is soothing to feel.’
