Book 3, Chapter 340: Exit
Guan Xiaohui and Zhen Ping reached the designated area to grab the goods. Since they were worried about missing the person who was supposed to deliver them, they had come a long time ago.
Fortunately, the resistance group had picked this place because it was secluded and well-hidden.
The Sun Vines and their offspring in the area had been destroyed, so the lower city district residents, who needed light for their daily lives, avoided this place. Besides, dark places could have enemies and dangerous creatures lurking in the shadows, which led to the place being even more deserted.
After half an hour, it was around the time for them to meet up with Clear Road Transport, but they still hadn’t heard anything. Guan Xiaohui was restless. “Zhen Ping, do you think they’re lost?”
Zhen Ping just comforted her. “Calm down. The guys from Clear Road Transport know the lower city district well. It’s impossible for them to not be able to find us. At most, they got held back a bit.”
“Okay,” Guan Xiaohui said.
After a few more minutes, the time they agreed upon to meet with Clear Road Transport was almost up. Then, they finally heard motorbikes approaching from a distance. Piercing light shone into the tunnel, and three motorbikes in the formation of a triangle came in.
Zhen Ping asked Guan Xiaohui to wait in place while she went up to meet them.
Two of the bikers stopped in the distance, while one rode over with a thick package on the pillion seat.
He stopped after arriving in front of Zhen Ping. “This is yours?”
“Yes. It’s ours,” Zhen Ping answered.
The biker got off, went to the pillion seat, and retrieved the package. Then, he handed her a receipt.
Zhen Ping signed her name on it before handing it back. Only then did she get the package.
Once the biker checked the receipt, he returned to his motorbike, gave her a wave, started his engine, and joined the other two bikers at the back. They all quickly left.
Zhen Ping then checked the goods in her hands. In order to prevent its domain from spreading, the thing had been tightly sealed, so she couldn’t inspect it.
Even now, she couldn’t be sure whether the resistance group had actually asked them to deliver a real propagated offspring.
Still, she walked back and handed the package to Guan Xiaohui. “Xiaohui, take a look. Is this it?”
“Let me see,” Guan Xiaohui offered. According to the group, after she received the implants, she should be able to sense a propagated offspring’s domain when near it even if it was isolated.
Guan Xiaohui reached out to touch it. In the beginning, she didn’t sense anything, but after a while, she felt resonance with a powerful domain. In an instant, she felt her ability to connect to domains being amplified. All sorts of information, including the faint biofield signals released by all creatures, were sent straight into her brain.
Then, she sensed the implant in her nape turning hot. Her blood started flowing faster as her heart started racing. Quickly, she regulated her breathing with a method she had learned and filtered out the many unnecessary biofields. Guan Xiaohui gasped for a while before looking up. “This is it.”
“That’s good, then.”
Zhen Ping relaxed, only for a wave of nervousness to rise in her. She was beginning to feel pressure. The group had asked them to transfer such an important item.
“Captain Yu said that we are to hand over the package to a group member named Xiang Tiancheng. I heard that the headquarters sent him over. Once we hand the package to him, we’ll have completed our task,” she said.
“I’ve never met anyone from the headquarters before.” Guan Xiaohui’s eyes lit up. freewebnσvel.cѳm
“Me too. Since we’ve gotten the goods, we shouldn’t stay here any longer. Let’s go.”
Zhen Ping quickly went to a motorbike parked by the side and got on it. Guan Xiaohui hopped onto the pillion seat.
Once she checked the map given by Captain Yu, she started the motorbike. As it roared to life, they headed to that place.
About twenty minutes later, they arrived in front of a sealed off tunnel and stopped. Zhen Ping got off and went over to check the symbol drawn on it.
“It’s here,” she stated.
She walked forward a little more to move away the randomly stacked stones and junk. Tons of large insects ran out, but Zhen Ping was used to them.
Guan Xiaohui lit up some incense and swung it around her. The insects scattered like a receding tide.
Upon clearing the stones and junk, a rotten grated door appeared. Zhen Ping grabbed it with both hands, twisted it, and it bent out of shape with a few creaks. She yanked it off and tossed it to the side.
They walked in then. Soon, they heard the sound of running water. Zhen Ping checked the map. “It’s here. We just need to walk with the flow of the river.”
Now that they had confirmed that they were at the right place, they changed into waterproof clothes and entered the water. After swimming for a little over ten meters, Guan Xiaohui noticed something and grabbed Zhen Ping. Feeling uneasy, she said, “Wait, Zhen Ping. Someone is behind us. They’re... around a kilometer away, and they’re really fast.”
Zhen Ping immediately held her breath and gave Guan Xiaohui a signal. She nodded, and they quickly swam ashore before hiding in the tunnel connected to where the door had been.

Che Gaoyi and Nine were swimming down the river. When they passed by the tunnel where Zhen Ping and Guan Xiaohui were hiding, Che Gaoyi sensed something and looked over.
He saw some water on the ground. Clearly, someone had passed by there.
He watched the water stains for a bit before looking away and continuing onward.
His task was to get the propagated offspring to his clients. As long as whoever was hiding didn’t attack him, he wasn’t going to pay attention to them. Besides, based on the stains, there were only two people. They weren’t strong either, so they were not a threat to him, and there was no need to pay special attention to them.

Guan Xiaohui and Zhen Ping waited until Che Gaoyi and Nine were a distance away before walking out of their hiding place.
It was only then that they sighed in relief. Guan Xiaohui’s face had turned pale. The strangers’ biofields had given her a lot of pressure. Even though they were a distance away, she still felt like she couldn’t breathe.
Worried, she said, “Zhen Ping, those two seemed really strong. Should we wait a little longer before we leave?”
Zhen Ping thought about it before saying, “No need. They’re much faster than we are. We just need to make sure that they’re always ahead of us. You can sense your surroundings well, right?”
Guan Xiaohui nodded.
With the help of the propagated offspring and the implant, she could detect everything within a kilometer of her. As long as her implant remained in a normal condition, of course.
“Then, we’ll be able to react in time. Come on. We just need to be careful,” Zhen Ping said.
“Okay,” Guan Xiaohui replied and got into the water again. They shuffled carefully forward while she paid attention to the two people ahead.

Chen Chuan was moving through the winding tunnels.
“There’s an underground river beneath us,” Lan Shennan said. “Both this tunnel and the underground river lead outside, but we only use the underground river for emergencies. It’s a much shorter route than the road we’re taking now.
“We don’t need to swim if we take this path, so it’s easier. This path was dug out later, but only for people to pass on foot, so we’ll have to leave our cars behind. We’ll have to walk for around a kilometer before reaching the perimeter of Central City.”
Chen Chuan nodded.
After another ten minutes or so, they stopped in front of a tunnel with a damaged entrance.
“We’re here,” Lan Shennan mentioned.
Chen Chuan cast the tunnel a glance before saying, “You should go back, Captain Lan. What’s going to happen next has nothing to do with you.”
“Okay,” Lan Shennan agreed readily. She knew that Chen Chuan was saying this for their own good. Both the Resolution Department and United Might were powerful giants, and getting involved with them was no good.
“Be careful, Chen Chuan,” she said before leaving.
After giving her a nod, Chen Chuan straightened his overcoat, grabbed the Frost King Saber, and headed down the narrow tunnel.

Che Gaoyi walked out of the tunnel with a briefcase and Nine a few paces behind him.
Upon checking the area, he found that he was at the base of a mountain slope. The trees were dense here, and the lighting was great.
At this point, he was sure that he had gotten out of Central City. There were no flashing gaps or pesky insects around him.
Before he could relax, he heard someone say from above, “Are you the ones delivering the goods? No, wait. You’re not the two girls.”
Che Gaoyi whipped his head around and saw a man in his thirties standing on a branch far away. He had his hands in his pockets and wore a short-sleeved, unbuttoned shirt over a tanktop with an eye on it.
The man had coarse, black hair and a cynical look on his face.
He stroked his chin and started talking all on his own. “Hmm... It could be that you stole their goods. Doesn’t matter.” He cast a glance at the briefcase in Che Gaoyi’s hand. “Since you came out from there and are even holding something suspicious, I can’t let you leave.”
Che Gaoyi could sense that the man was no easy target. He didn’t explain himself, though. The only thing he said was, “Nine, kill him.”
Even though they had left Central City, that didn’t mean that they were completely safe. They couldn’t stay here for long.
Upon hearing the order, Nine rushed at the man without a word.
Meanwhile, Che Gaoyi left at full speed with the briefcase in hand. After only around one kilometre or so, he saw a blur, and the man appeared in front of him. He lifted his chin at Che Gaoyi and said teasingly, “And where are you going?”
Shocked, Che Gaoyi looked behind him. Nine had been embedded into the mountain slope behind him. It looked like he had been shoved inside.
Upon realizing that he had run into someone strong, he asked cautiously, “Who are you?”
“Me?” The man straightened his back and patted his chest. “Xiang Tiancheng, senior officer of the resistance group. At your humble service.”
