Chapter 332: Chapter 136: Advancement in Strength, Lingxi’s Sermon

After taking a moment to compose himself, Yang Jing pushed his myriad thoughts aside and climbed out of bed.

After a quick wash, he changed into a green robe and headed straight for the sect’s dining hall.

The dining hall was already bustling in the early morning. Many Outer Sect disciples were eating there, and the air was filled with the savory aroma of Exotic Beast Meat.

He ordered a meal of Exotic Beast Meat with a side of coarse grains. After presenting his Contribution Points Jade Token and having seventy points deducted, he felt completely full, a pleasant warmth spreading through his body.

After breakfast, Yang Jing didn’t return to his courtyard. Instead, he headed straight up Lingxi Peak.

Today was the thirteenth day of the first month, which happened to be a lecture day. According to sect rules, lectures were held on the third, sixth, and ninth of every month. The Stewards, Elders, and even the Peak Master would take turns giving sermons on Lingxi Plaza, sharing their insights into the Martial Dao and experiences in cultivation.

The Peak Master of Lingxi Peak had missed the last few sessions, but Yang Jing had heard that the Peak Master often gave the sermon on the third.

The Peak Master of Lingxi Peak might personally attend today. Such an opportunity was incredibly rare, and he was determined not to miss it.

The snow on either side of the mountain path had yet to completely melt, occasionally letting out a soft crunch underfoot.

Along the way, he encountered a steady stream of Lingxi Peak disciples. Most were Outer Sect disciples in green robes, walking in pairs or small groups. They all looked hurried, clearly on their way to Lingxi Plaza for the sermon.

Occasionally, he would also spot a few Inner Sect disciples in white robes. They mostly walked alone, their postures erect and their auras steady, a look of calm confidence on their faces.

Yang Jing continued his steady pace. When he encountered Outer Sect disciples he recognized from around the courtyards or had briefly met before, they would exchange slight nods in greeting.

Yang Jing kept walking, continuing his steady ascent up the mountain path, but his mind was already racing with thoughts about the day’s sermon.

’Will the Peak Master of Lingxi Peak make an appearance today?’ he wondered.

Since joining Lingxi Peak, he had become one of its disciples but had yet to meet the Peak Master, only hearing a few rumors from his peers.

Rumor had it that the Peak Master of Lingxi Peak, Bai Bing, was exceptionally talented—the youngest of the Xuanzhen Sect’s Seven Vein Peak Masters.

Despite their youth, they were in charge of an entire vein, and their strength was said to be no less than that of the six other, more senior Peak Masters. With unfathomable power and immense prestige within the sect, some even speculated that they were a contender to become the next Sect Leader of the Xuanzhen Sect.

To see the Peak Master in person and listen to their insights on the Martial Dao would be a rare opportunity for any disciple, so naturally, he was full of anticipation.

But then again, Yang Jing tempered his expectations.

Even if the Peak Master didn’t come today, he had another plan: seek guidance from Steward Zheng.

Steward Zheng was not only an expert at the Qi Eating Realm, but he also had a profound understanding of the Mountain-Shattering Fist.

During previous sermons, the Steward’s occasional mentions of key points for cultivating the Mountain-Shattering Fist were precise and insightful, far beyond Yang Jing’s own comprehension.

He had accumulated several questions about the Mountain-Shattering Fist from his recent practice and had been looking for a chance to ask Steward Zheng for pointers. Asking during the sermon would be the perfect opportunity.

Over the past half-month, through daily observation and conversations with his peers, Yang Jing had become much more familiar with the Xuanzhen Sect and Lingxi Peak.

He had learned that the Xuanzhen Sect housed numerous martial arts manuals of all kinds, covering areas such as fist arts, palm arts, Body Techniques, Horizontal Training Techniques, and Weapon Techniques.

However, as an Outer Sect disciple, he had no permission to view high-level martial arts. Even consulting basic techniques required a huge amount of contribution points, making it a terrible value and not at all worthwhile.

The most reliable method was to break through to the Peak of Transformation as soon as possible and pass the Dragon Gate’s martial trials to enter the Inner Sect. Once he did, his privileges as a disciple would increase dramatically. He would not only gain access to higher-quality cultivation resources, but the restrictions on viewing martial arts manuals would also be reduced. It wouldn’t be too late to find a suitable martial art for himself then.

He had also discovered that quite a few disciples within the Xuanzhen Sect practiced the Mountain-Shattering Fist.

The technique was widely circulated within the sect. It wasn’t some secret or forbidden art; rather, it seemed more like a foundational, widely practiced fist style.

’Master Sun Yong opened a Martial Arts Hall in Yuhe County and taught the Mountain-Shattering Fist,’ Yang Jing guessed to himself. ’The origins of the technique most likely trace back to the Xuanzhen Sect.’

Yang Jing had taken note of Steward Zheng during the previous sermons. The Steward had once demonstrated the Mountain-Shattering Fist, and his movements were exquisite, his Inner Qi flowed smoothly, and his fist intent was profound. His mastery was clearly on a different level.

There were still some details in his own Mountain-Shattering Fist practice that he couldn’t quite grasp, and he wanted to find an opportunity to ask for guidance. However, as a Qi Eating Realm expert, Steward Zheng was always busy, so Yang Jing didn’t dare disturb him rashly. He could only hope for a chance to ask questions during the sermon.

Lost in thought, Yang Jing looked up and saw several figures hurrying along the path ahead. Their silhouettes seemed vaguely familiar.

As he got closer and recognized one of them, his eyes lit up. He immediately quickened his pace and called out with a smile, "Senior Brother Jia."

The person he had called turned at the sound. It was none other than Jia Yuliang, the one who, under a Steward’s orders, had led Yang Jing to the Outer Sect Courtyard and helped him get settled when he first joined the sect half a month ago.

Jia Yuliang was also wearing a green robe and was accompanied by two other Outer Sect disciples. They were walking side-by-side up the peak, clearly also heading to Lingxi Plaza for the sermon.

When Jia Yuliang saw it was Yang Jing calling out to him, he was slightly taken aback for a moment before a warm smile spread across his face. He nodded in response. "Ah, Junior Brother Yang. What a coincidence. I didn’t expect to run into you here."

His eyes glanced up the mountain path ahead of Yang Jing, and he asked with a smile, "Are you heading to the peak, Junior Brother? I take it you’re also going to Lingxi Plaza for the sermon."
