Chapter 46: Sect

I’m talking as if I can protect myself while staying awake. Now at least I feel refreshed even though just a little... I want a bath.

Wait?.. Where is my dagger?!

He checked; the sheath and dagger both were missing. Did they steal it?

Damn, Evil fuckers...

"Oh! You’re awake; we reached the sect." The young oldie said, with a smile, which appeared very disgusting to him.

Victor stood up and turned.

He saw, from above, beautiful, towering Pagodas over vast land, as a painting came to life; The sun rising from the horizon. Their boat began to land.

It landed; he came off with others. There were many other people and boats; some were taking off, some were landing. It was like a big parking lot at some festival. Are sect disciples renting flying boats from here?

"You guys go report to the mission hall; I will take him to Elder Wong"

’’ Alright, brother Lux.’’ One guy said; the other nodded.

So, the oldie’s name is Lux. Puff.f... soap. Victor looked to the other side and tried not to laugh.

"Alright, boy, come with me; I will take you to Elder Wong, and tell him your situation."

Victor nodded and followed this Lux guy halfway, while the other two went in different directions. Probably to report about their mission in the mission hall, as he heard them talking.

This Lux guy thinks he was from that village; he lied back there so it would not create any problems, right?

Well, he doesn’t care; it’s not a big deal... I will make something up; I’m overthinking again. He felt some weird gazes on him all the way, but he ignored them for now.

Soon, they entered a seven-floor, yellow, somewhat golden pagoda-type building; he didn’t know if gold was real or just a color.

Inside was a spacious hall, brown cupboards against the walls, filled with scrolls and old books.

Behind the wooden counters stood people in yellow-white robes, but the color was darker and with a golden lining, maybe showing a higher status than those normal disciples.

The Lux guy walked to one guy like others who stood behind the counter, writing something on a scroll with a brush and black ink.

"Señor brother, can I meet an elder, Wong? I want to inform him of a very important thing.’’ Lux said politely, cupping his hand and with a flattering smile.

But that guy didn’t even look up when he spoke. "Just tell me; I will call him if it really is important.’’

"But...’’

"Don’t make me repeat myself."

Lux shut his mouth for a moment before trying to explain, " This boy is from the same village we..’’

The guy raised his head and glanced at the victor, then looked at Lux. "Just take him to the laborer’s courtyard; others were also there. And you’re not getting any merit points for handling the situation so badly.’’

"What?! but..."

"Would you bring every mortal to the sect when you saw them in a bad situation? Be grateful Elder Wong is not here, or you would be seriously punished like those who came before you with a villager, or do you want me to still call Elder Wong.’’

"No, thank you, Senior Brother’s generosity, for wasting his precious time on a junior." Lux cupped his hand and bowed lightly before turning back and starting to walk toward the exit.

Tell you, without gaining anything, what a joke? Lux thought.

In truth, he wanted to inform the elder about the disappearance of that little girl, which is probably related to an unknown realm cultivator and gain some benefits, but forget it; who knows? Maybe an elder from the inner sect took her; it’s better not to try to climb Mount Tai. freewebnσvel.cøm

Victor looked at Lux as he was walking in a hurry. Cowered, idiot, stealing my dagger, you just invited bad luck. Nothing good happened to me after killing that bandit,... um, nothing too bad happened either, though, yeah, just the tiger scared me too much; now I’m feeling kind of pathetic, behaving like a coward.

He followed the Lux guy and exited the hall. Unlike inside, outside is lively and noisy, though some gazes still look at him weirdly, some with pity and some with disgust; they were not even hiding it, openly twisting their nose and expression.

Do I smell bad?... sigh, I want to take a bath, but what with a pity.

Soon they stopped at another hall, which is pathetic compared to the one they had just walked out of.

The Lux guy saw an old man and walked to him with impatient steps.

"Hey, old man, do something for me."

While talking with him, he didn’t show that old man any respect, meaning that the old man is weaker than him or lower in status.

This Lux guy didn’t say a single word all the way they walked here.

Was he dissatisfied with something? After exiting that hall, his treatment toward him changed completely. Before, he was an easy-to-get-along guy, but now his behavior is indifferent.

The question is not why he behaves indifferently now; the question is why he was behaving kindly before. Did he want something from him, or from Norah?

But Norah was taken by a strong, mysterious cultivator, and this guy thinks she is my sister; shouldn’t he try to leave a good impression so that if she comes back in the future, he can gain benefits?

Anyway, what are they talking about me?

Sometime later, with new clothes in his hands, Victor stood in front of a broken hut made of wood and dried straw. He turned around to look at the old man leaving after dropping him here.

Disbelief. What the fuck is this situation?!

Are you kidding? Should I leave? Would they let me leave? They should, right? This big sect won’t be having any shortage of handymen, right?. But looking at the condition of the hut, he wasn’t too sure.
