Chapter 264: Chapter 263: This Is a Low-Spec One...
Pulling open the car door, Qi Xiaotian grinned smugly.
"That’s right, this vehicle was assigned to us. How about that? Pretty badass, right? Alright, get in. I’ll take you to see our ’combat command center.’ Let me tell you, everything inside is state-of-the-art."
"Badass! This is a genuine military vehicle! The boss is incredible for being able to get his hands on something like this."
As they spoke, the men piled into the vehicle. They stroked the bulletproof chassis, their faces filled with longing.
Qi Xiaotian glanced in the rearview mirror at the men he used to lead. A smug smile touched his lips as he cranked the steering wheel. The Knight XV let out a roar and sped toward the villa.
"Heh heh, this thing is a thrill to ride in, but the configuration is a little basic. There’s no mounted machine gun on the roof, so you can’t really call it fully loaded~"
The young man in the passenger seat joked while looking around the vehicle, causing everyone to burst into laughter...
Meanwhile, back at the villa, Ouyang Jun had a lot on his plate, so after a short while, he hurried off with his men.
After they had left, Mu Tou and the others just stood there, staring longingly at the brand-new Apache. They were practically drooling.
Seeing this, Fang Chenyi walked over and rapped each of them on the head. He said with a smile, "What are you staring at? Any longer and your eyes will get stuck."
The rap on the head from Fang Chenyi finally snapped them out of it. They turned with sheepish grins, and Mu Tou asked awkwardly,
"Brother Fang, is this helicopter yours, too? Uh, you see, after our shifts, we don’t really have anything to do. It gets pretty boring just sitting around. Do you think... you could give us the job of cleaning it?"
As soon as he said that, the eyes of the other two lit up. They nodded eagerly, chiming in that they were bored after their shifts and wanted something to do.
Fang Chenyi didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. ’These guys,’ he thought. ’When Mu Tou started talking, I thought he was going to ask me to put them in charge of the helicopter. I can’t believe he just wants to clean it...’
He shook his head with a smile, then pointed at the Apache and asked,
"You want to take over the task of cleaning it?"
The men nodded vigorously. Fang Chenyi pretended to think it over, stroking his chin as if he were in a difficult position.
"Alright then. The cleaning of the helicopter is all yours."
Hearing this, the three of them were about to jump for joy, but Fang Chenyi’s next words left them completely dumbfounded.
"Sigh. I was originally thinking of just putting you in charge of the helicopter, but it seems you only want to clean it. In that case, I guess I’ll just give it to Char and his team."
After speaking, he even shook his head and turned to walk toward Char’s villa.
The three men exchanged glances, then quickly ran up to Fang Chenyi, looking at him with piteous expressions.
"No, Brother Fang! Please put us in charge of the helicopter! We promise, we’ll even sleep with it!"
Hearing this, the other two quickly chimed in,
"Yes, yes! We’ll sleep with it! Brother Fang, please just give it to us..."
Fang Chenyi burst out laughing. "Alright, alright, I was just messing with you. From now on, you guys are in charge of this helicopter. But remember, don’t go flying around without permission. We don’t have flight clearance, and we don’t want to get shot down."
Although Fang Chenyi was partly joking, he had a point. Huaxia’s airspace regulations were extremely strict. Forget helicopters—even camera drones weren’t allowed to take off without permission.
Having gotten Fang Chenyi’s approval, the young men grew ecstatic and immediately rushed toward the helicopter.
Fang Chenyi just smiled and shook his head before heading upstairs with the map. He still needed to study the specific plans. He also had to notify the heads of his various companies to prepare for the headquarters’ relocation.
Not long after Fang Chenyi went upstairs, Qi Xiaotian drove the Knight XV slowly to the main entrance of the villa complex. He looked around but didn’t see anyone on duty at the gate, and his brow furrowed.
’Damn it, those bastards. I’m gone for a little while and they’re already slacking off? Looks like their usual training isn’t enough!’
Muttering to himself, he slammed on the gas and charged into the villa complex.
But in the distance, he saw what looked like... a helicopter parked on the lawn in front of Villa No. 3! And most importantly, judging by its shape, why did it look so much like an American Apache?
It wasn’t just Qi Xiaotian; everyone else in the vehicle saw it too. All eyes turned to Qi Xiaotian, and the young man in the lead asked,
"B-Brother Tian, don’t tell me the boss even has an attack helicopter!"
Qi Xiaotian was completely baffled himself. ’It wasn’t here when I left just now, was it?’
But it was obvious he couldn’t answer that question. So, he simply ignored the guys and parked the vehicle in front of his own place, Villa No. 6.
He then turned to the five men in the car and said,
"All units, disembark and fall in."
Hearing Qi Xiaotian’s command, the five men instinctively threw open the doors, jumped out, and formed a line with maximum speed.
Qi Xiaotian, however, paid them no mind. He stomped on the gas, and the Knight XV lunged toward the Apache like a savage beast.
’Before I figure out what the hell is going on, I can’t bring those new guys over. If some kind of blunder happens, I’ll just make a fool of myself.’
Seeing their leader’s vehicle arrive, Mu Tou and the other two, who had been carefully wiping down the helicopter with their face towels, quickly ran out, snapped to attention, and formed a line.
Qi Xiaotian got out, his face dark. He sized up the brand-new, military-grade Apache before him, and his heart skipped a beat. ’This thing is the real deal.’
But then he remembered that these guys had abandoned their posts. He snapped irritably,
"Answer me! Why weren’t you at your posts!"
Then, Qi Xiaotian pointed a finger at the helicopter, his gaze falling on Mu Tou as he demanded,
"And another thing, what’s the deal with this Apache?"
At the question, Mu Tou quickly shouted, "Sir!" and took a step forward. He then gave Qi Xiaotian a clear and simple explanation of the helicopter’s origin and how the boss had put them in charge of it. frёewebnoѵēl.com
