Chapter 451: Chapter 451: Building Strength

Those who gave up were also cut off. After a few people experienced this, no one else spoke about quitting.

However, the difficulty of the training got tougher every day.

Once they could float effortlessly in the water and even fight, they were given weights to train with.

"How do we float in water with weights tied to our bodies?" Even Lu easked in confusion.

"You will find a way. Just go." Lu Zhen replied, this time it was him who kicked his younger brother into the water.

"Seriously, you guys aren’t even humans." Lu Tao complained while trying to find a way to balance himself in the water.

The others didn’t dare to complain when they saw this.

Exhaustion set in quickly.

"I can’t do this anymore..." someone groaned, clinging to a floating platform.

Blaze swam over and kicked the platform lightly.

"Get back in."

The man forward, shocked.

"I said I can’t..."

Blaze’s gaze hardened immediately and he became intimidating. His aura turned hot and the water around him began to steam.

"And I said get back in."

Reluctantly and in fear, the man slid back into the water.

He had never seen someone so scary before.

Even zombies were gentler than him.

The training started off as a collective activity but as time went by, people showed different levels of potential.

So, the training focused on their strengths and weaknesses depending on the individual.

When someone showed more potential, the difficulty of the training would be increased.

"Ouyang Jin swam over to Lu Zhen, who was sitting in a motor boat and commented.

"At this rate, you are going to break them."

Lu Zhen didn’t look away from the water where numerous people were training.

"They do need to break." He said softly.

"What?" Ouyang Jin thought he had heard wrong.

Was his friend intending to end these survivors?

"They need to break their limits. It’s the only way they will survive. We can’t indulge them too much." Lu Zhen added, causing his friend to breathe a sigh of relief.

"I hope this doesn’t break their will first." Ouyang Jin commented before swimming back to his small team.

The training went on for days and the teams were getting stronger and more adept to fighting in water.

What made Leng Pan surprised was the fact that the rain had stopped, yet the water wasn’t drying out.

It was still at the same level even after almost a week.

"What exactly is going on? Is the drainage system really that bad to the point of complete blockage?" Leng Pan suddenly asked one day while their family was having dinner.

"Why do you ask that, Panpan?" Li Yunjia asked her daughter-in-law.

"Well, it has been so long since the rain stopped. Why is the water still on the eighth floor? Why has it not gone down at all?" Leng Pan asked in confusion.

In the last apocalypse, the rain came with typhoons and cities near the ocean were swept up as soon as the rain began.

However, this time, it was just plain rain without any typhoons, so, why was the water not going down? Was there another reason for this?

"Maybe because of the meteorites that crashed many things, the drainage system was completely ruined and it can’t be used at all." Uncle Li replied on behalf of his sister.

"That might be the case. However, I don’t believe that every single drainage point is blocked by meteorites." Leng Pan said.

"Let’s just leave it for now. The water has helped us to train more people and become stronger. So, it has its advantages." Lu Zhen wanted his wife to see the bright side of the flood water, so he reminded her of the training. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm

"That’s indeed true. Now, we can then go out and hunt those creatures killing people in the water. I don’t think it’s only our base that has lost people. Other bases must be in the same situation. So, let’s see if we can help out." Leng Pan didn’t care where those creatures were.

She had a feeling that their attacks on humans had something to do with the aliens.

So, it was okay to go all out and hunt them.

"Alright, the training is done, we can now dispatch teams to go out and collect supplies without much worry." Lu Zhen reassured his wife.

"Okay then, I want to be in the first group that goes out. I want to see what has changed since the rain started. Maybe we can also find an opportunity to take out a few aliens." Ever since that battle with the aliens, Leng Pan had held a grudge.

They might not have lost members of their base, but the onslaught attacks on other bases had succeeded.

Many humans had lost their lives at that time because they were either ill-prepared or didn’t have the strength to defend themselves.

Now that she had the opportunity, she wouldn’t let them off so easily.

"Oh, by the way, sister-in-law, I managed to make a gadget that can detect aliens as long as they are within fifty meters of your location. This way, even if they try to hide among humans, you will still single them out." Lu Tao suddenly bounced up happily when he said this.

Leng Pan was surprised that her brother-in-law actually had managed to make something that took researchers in the ancient apocalypse a couple of years to make.

In this world, it hadn’t even been a year since the apocalypse started, yet he had made so much progress.

But that was also thanks to his superpower that seemed to make him more accomplished in computers the more his superpower advanced.

Lu Tao went back to his room and came back with a small metal disk that had a flashing light on it.

"This light flashes green when only humans are around. If you encounter zombies, it will flash yellow, and if aliens appear, it will turn red. This way, you can find the aliens and take them out." Lu Tao explained how the disk worked.
