Chapter 1416: Chapter 533: The Plan Disrupted from the Start (Part 2)
Grune asked in confusion, "According to the intelligence provided by the combat command system, the warships from Red Blade Star likely have short-range jump technology that can be activated at any time. Won’t they charge straight over?"
Fudin smiled slightly and flicked his fingers to open a technical report, "The Nanxiang Star Cluster Academy of Sciences has fully analyzed the short-range jump technology of Red Blade Star. The conclusion is right here. Admittedly, it’s a very High Rank technology, seemingly possessing characteristics of the fold jump bombs of the Ascendant Space Sand Worm, but it is unstable, with a success rate not particularly high. Even if they use short-range jumps, more than thirty percent of their ships will inevitably be damaged, compared to charging through our intercept missiles, where losses might even be less than twenty percent. Moreover, at least fifty percent of our warships are pre-aimed, targeting the most likely position they’ll appear post-jump. At that moment, warships just out of the jump won’t have time to deploy the force field shield and will suffer even worse casualties."
Grune: "I see, then I’m relieved."
Their confidence lasted for only ten minutes more. Just ten minutes.
According to the combat system’s deductions, the Trap Formation Fleet would definitely use short-range jumps; otherwise, they couldn’t advance close to the intercepting fleet’s formation.
But unexpectedly, they haven’t, this small fleet just continually accelerated using the most primitive propulsion engines, and moved forward in a straight line.
The orange flame tails emitted by ten large warships and fifty thousand medium warships were steadily lengthening in space, merging together as if a gigantic comet was sprinting through.
Time passed little by little, as the timeline crossed the most conservative figures given by the military combat system, the Assault Fleet still hadn’t used short-range jumps.
Fudin Pacquiao’s face, with its seemingly permanently confident smile, finally froze.
He couldn’t have anticipated that in the initial stage of direct contact, the infallible military system made a mistake, leaving him unsure of the next steps.
Feeling somewhat panicked, he considered whether to hurriedly use emergency light communication to issue new orders, but recalling the arrangements in the combat plan, he felt it inappropriate.
Anxiety-ridden Grune asked outright, "What should we do now? Do we need to issue new orders?"
Fudin took a deep breath, "There’s no rush. Our missiles were originally locked onto their propulsion route."
Grune: "But many missiles locked onto the jump route will miss, won’t that have impacts?"
"No impact. It’s too late to change orders now. Even if those missiles explode in vain, they will leave chaotic energy fields and a great deal of debris in place, blocking the enemy fleet’s advance route. Let’s leave it at that; I need to issue some new orders for subsequent combat tactics."
Fudin already made a decision, and began pressing his hands onto the control panel in front of him, inputting regional commands through brainwave links.
Fudin’s thought commands would appear at the Staff Department and be quickly decomposed into more specific detailed orders by thousands of staff, then transmitted by tens of thousands of communications officers using laser instruments to their respective communication targets.
Moments later, the massive Pirate Alliance Fleet began to move in a slightly confused manner.
Fudin said he wasn’t panicking, but in reality, he had disrupted the combat plan, prematurely deploying a small portion of the reserves directly to intercept the fleet in front of the Assault Fleet.
But soon after, his expression turned quickly distorted.
As these were maneuvers not part of the plan, the pirate ships had no preset routes, and the reserve fleet soon fell into chaos after departing.
The tail flames from some warships swept over friendly vessels. As these were within the friendly array, the pirate ships hadn’t activated force field shields, and some warships were hit and damaged by the tail flames, forcing them to halt for repairs.
Yet, the allied ships behind failed to timely decipher the urgent messages sent from the front. The Captains and Commanders weren’t too adept at visual observation, leading to collisions which escalated the chaos.
After more than ten minutes, when these reinforcement ships entered the interception array, they collided with many originally stationed intercept warships due to insufficient deceleration.
