Chapter 382: Chapter 382: Leona Grant Cannot Be Without Annabelle Linton 6

Before Annabelle Linton could even speak, Leona Grant barraged her with words. "I couldn’t get through when I called, and you didn’t open the door when I knocked. I’ve been standing here knocking for nearly fifteen minutes! I was starting to think something had happened to you."

Once Annabelle Linton got a clear look at the person in front of her, her expression soured. She ignored his tirade and asked impatiently, "What are you doing here?"

"You answer me first. What were you doing in there? Why was it so quiet for so long?"

Without waiting for an invitation, Leona Grant brazenly let himself in and began checking all around the apartment.

In truth, he was looking for any sign of Aaron Wyatt.

Annabelle Linton frowned at him, her eyes flicking to the large white clock on the wall. "It’s six-thirty in the morning," she said irritably. "What do you think I’d be doing besides sleeping? Who said you could come in?"

Leona Grant finished checking everywhere. Seeing no sign of Aaron Wyatt, he breathed a sigh of relief.

He returned to her, deliberately ignoring her irritated expression, and flashed his most brilliant smile. "Good morning, Annabelle Linton."

"Do I look like I’m having a good morning?"

’You practically broke my door down this early in the morning. How do you have the nerve to say that?’

Leona Grant had resolved to rein in his bad temper. He ignored her annoyed expression and said cheerfully, "Aren’t you happy to see me?"

"What do you think?"

Leona Grant gave a dry chuckle and lowered his head, busying himself. "I brought you breakfast. I made it myself. Go wash up, and you can eat when you’re done."

Annabelle Linton watched him set things out, a corner of her mouth twitching into a cold smile. "Are you trying to poison me?"

It wasn’t as if she’d never had his cooking before.

And it had been quite the experience.

Leona Grant pursed his lips, silent for a moment, before saying in a low voice, "No, I won’t. I learned how to cook. I specifically wanted to make something for you."

He had learned during the two months after their divorce. And while he wasn’t a great cook, he had mastered the basics.

Leona Grant grew nostalgic, remembering the time he had Aaron Wyatt locked up. Back then, she would smile at him, and they would flip through cookbooks and cook together.

But Annabelle Linton was not moved. A clean break was best for everyone. ’It’s for his own good, too,’ she thought.

Her face devoid of expression, she walked back to the bedroom, slamming the door shut with a BANG. "Just eat it by yourself," she said emotionlessly.

Leona Grant looked at the table laden with food he had prepared, and a bitter smile touched his lips.

’This is only the first step.’

In the past, when Annabelle Linton had a meal ready and waiting for him, he would sometimes still yell at her if he was in a bad mood.

Leona Grant closed his eyes, feeling a wave of helplessness as he remembered the things he used to do.

Annabelle Linton stayed in her room until two in the afternoon.

There was a computer in the room. She used it for a while before falling asleep again, so the time passed quickly. freeωebnovēl.c૦m

When she finally emerged, the food Leona Grant had set on the table that morning was gone, cleared away without a trace.

She stood there, expressionless, for a moment before heading into the bathroom to wash up and change. She was planning to go out for a bite to eat.

She hadn’t eaten all day. She wasn’t particularly hungry, but she knew she had to eat.

Just as Annabelle Linton was about to head out the door, Leona Grant came back in, carrying more things.

He set his things down and began arranging them, talking as he did. "Did you have a good rest? Time to eat. You always said you liked Madam King’s cooking, right? She made this herself. Come and eat."

Annabelle Linton didn’t even spare him a glance. She ignored him and walked out the door.

Leona Grant watched her cold, retreating back, his heart aching. "Just have a little," he called after her, his voice tinged with a faint plea. "You haven’t eaten all day. That’s not good for you."
