Chapter 95: Chapter 89: Dummies
The trio were doing as they were commanded. They escorted the guests, showed them the Cult, told them about its history, etc., but the guests were much more interested in them than they were in the Cult.
The Head of the Stag of Calamity Clan looked at Woo and said, "If you don’t mind me asking, what kind of abilities have you received from your bloodline?"
Woo said, "It would be easier if I just showed you."
She pointed her sword towards the sky, and the stag tattoo on her forehead lit up. A small dark cloud appeared in the sky and shot a bolt of lightning at her sword before disappearing. The lightning didn’t hurt her but danced on the blade of her sword instead. It was the same skill that she had used in the coliseum, but it was much more refined. A frown appeared on Stag Head’s face.
She said, "What about you two?"
Woong said, "I heal really fast when I’m asleep. And my qi recovers just as fast."
Bum said, "Splitting."
Stag Head’s frown worsened. She said, "Let me check your pulse."
Woo asked, "Why, is there something wrong?"
Stag Head replied, "There is. Logically speaking, you should have received a lot of abilities from your bloodlines, considering their purity, but you just have the basic abilities: Heavenly Lightning, Slumber Recovery, and Sky Splitting Claws."
The trio looked at one another and nodded. Woo extended her hand towards Stag Head. Stag Head grabbed her wrist and closed her eyes. A moment later, she opened her eyes, and the others were able to see the immense shock in them. Just as she was about to say something, they all heard a loud sound. An extremely loud sound. A moment later, Zeke and Mammoth Head appeared there.
Woong asked, "What was that?"
Zeke replied, "It was nothing."
Of course, if Woong visited the mountain that Zeke and Mammoth Head had just been on, he would find that it was no longer intact. There was a large crack right in the middle, running from the peak to the base of the mountain.
Zeke saw Stag Head holding Woo’s wrist and asked, "What’s going on?"
Woo replied, "I’m not sure. She just asked us about our bloodline abilities and then asked to check my pulse. Apparently, we’re supposed to have a lot more of them."
Hearing her words, both Zeke and Mammoth Head smacked their foreheads.
Zeke said, "Are all Clan Heads supposed to be this dumb?"
Mammoth Head replied, "Cut her some slack, will you? It’s the first time that they have experienced this situation."
Zeke said, "It’s your first time as well."
Mammoth Head replied, "You can’t compare her with me. I’ve been alive for a very long time. Hell, I grew up with her grandfather, so our knowledge reserves are in two very different leagues."
Zeke said, "Damn, you’re ancient."
Mammoth Head said, "So show me some respect."
Zeke shook his head and said, "Nah. I’m fine with the way things are."
As the two were chatting and insulting everyone present there, the trio moved closer to one another.
Bum whispered, "You guys seeing this?"
Woong whispered back, "Yeah, it’s like there are two Ryeongs."
Woo continued, "How could they be so similar?"
At some point, the Heads joined them as well.
Tiger Head said, "Most probably because they both think that the world and everyone in it are beneath them." freёwebnoѵel.com
Bear Head asked, "So it’s arrogance?"
Stag Head replied, "No, they have the skills to back them up, so most probably a well-justified superiority complex."
Then they heard Zeke’s voice, "You done?"
The group that had huddled together backed up while Woo cleared her throat and said, "Yeah, we’re done."
Woong said, "Anyways, what is the issue with us?"
Zeke said, "Hmmm... let me dumb it down for you. You three... are humans. The blood flowing in your veins is not. At least a large portion of it. You see how that could create a conflict of interest?
The Divine Beast blood has been slowly changing your bodies into that of hybrids. The transformation will be complete once you break through to the Peak Demon realm and go through body reconstruction. Then the blood will completely fuse with you, and you’ll receive a plethora of bloodline abilities. Until then, most of the Divine Beast blood in your bodies is sealed."
Zeke and Mammoth Head gave the others a bit of time to process it all. Then Mammoth Head said, "Cheon Ryeong and I have made a decision."
The Heads stared at him intently. They were hoping that he had accepted the offer for the alliance because they would benefit a lot from it, especially Pegasus Head. But they would stand by him even if he refused.
Mammoth Head continued, "From today onwards, the Spirit Beast Clans will be eternal allies of the Divine Demonic Cult."
Stag Head asked, "Does that mean...?"
Mammoth Head replied, "Yes, the cubs and the Divine Beast will be returning with us."
The Heads did an internal victory dance and nodded. While they were doing that, Mammoth Head sent a voice transmission to Zeke.
He said, "I hope that you will fulfill your promise. Or else..."
Zeke replied via a voice transmission as well, "I will. But you know what you need to do. If you don’t, there is nothing I can do, and you can’t blame me for that."
Mammoth Head replied, "I won’t."
Zeke said, "Good."
Then he said aloud, "I would like to speak with my siblings once before they leave. Privately. Servants will escort you all back to the banquet. Yonggi, you go with them. I’m sure that Pegasus Head has a lot he wants to tell you."
Mammoth Head nodded and signaled the other Heads to follow his lead. A servant came and escorted them to the banquet.
When he was left alone with the trio, he said, "Walk with me."
The trio were confused, but they still followed him.
