Chapter 87: Chapter 81: The Storm
Meanwhile, in the Abyss of Vengeful Spirits, Zeke was still falling. He had been falling for about an hour now. He finally understood why it was called an abyss. As he was falling, the light in the surroundings continued to dim until he was in complete darkness. Of course, that didn’t bother him. He positioned his body as if he were skydiving, and his descent sped up.
After another hour, the ground was finally in sight. But at the speed he was going, he would be seriously injured even if he somehow survived. He really missed his wings at this moment. He needed to slow down. He changed his trajectory to move towards the mountain that the cliff he had been thrown from was part of. As he was nearing the ground, he stabbed Yeomra into the mountain as hard as he could.
Maybe it was his incredible speed or Yeomra’s deadly sharpness, possibly both, but the blade was cutting the mountain like butter. Nevertheless, his speed was decreasing. Now he had to be very careful, or else he could say goodbye to his legs. When his speed had slowed down considerably, the ground was already quite near, so he just took Yeomra out of the mountain.
As soon as his feet touched the ground, he felt piercing stares. He was being watched, most probably by the numerous vengeful spirits there. It wasn’t every day that someone living visited them, and they were hungry. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
Zeke said, "Yeomra, looks like they see us as food."
Yeomra buzzed in response. Zeke said, "Yeah, they don’t seem to understand who’s prey."
Yeomra buzzed once again. Zeke said, "Sure, go absolutely wild. You don’t know if you’ll have the chance to feast like this again."
Zeke was at one end of the Abyss. He gripped Yeomra and threw him as hard as he could towards the other end. Yeomra disappeared with a sonic boom. Zeke muttered, "This seems like a good enough place." freeωebnovēl.c૦m
Then he sat down and manifested his nascent Lotus Hells. He did what the Heavenly Demon had told him to do to trigger the absorption of the vengeful spirits, but something strange happened. Instead of absorbing the vengeful spirits, the Lotus Hells started revolving around him. Their speed started increasing until only a black ring with purple, gold, and red lightning-like flashes was visible.
Zeke felt his Hell Qi flowing into the ring. It was fine in the beginning, but the speed at which it was flowing into the ring kept on increasing. That was still fine, but it didn’t stop there. It started sucking in his blood and wanted to absorb his soul, at least a part of it, but was hindered by the mental wards that he had put up.
Zeke understood that he needed to let whatever was happening, happen. So he eased up on the mental wards and cut a part of his soul for the ring to absorb. As soon as he had done that, the speed of the revolving Lotus Hells started increasing, as if they were showing their satisfaction. At some point, the speed had reached a level where the ring started sucking in the vengeful souls.
The situation quickly escalated, and a storm of vengeful souls formed around him, with him sitting in its eye.
Obviously, this got the attention of the multiple Ultimate Demons in the Heavenly Demon’s Palace.
Tang Mi-Yeon said, "Why do I feel a sudden surge in the natural energy, and why is it concentrating at one place?"
The Heavenly Demon said, "It is the Abyss of Vengeful Spirits."
She said, "Isn’t that where my son is?"
The Heavenly Demon said, "Our son. And yes, he is there. I’ll go check it out. There is no way that he is breaking through so soon."
Tang Mi-Yeon said, "Are you doubting my son?"
The Heavenly Demon once again corrected her and said, "I think you mean our son. And I mean he can’t break through without the treas– Shit!"
The Demon Monarchs saw the Heavenly Demon lose his composure for the first time. The Mountain Crushing Demon Monarch said, "My Liege, your orders?"
The Heavenly Demon said, "All of you, bring all of the stuff you want to give Ryeong to the Abyss. NOW!!"
The Demon Monarchs could understand the situation was urgent, so they said, "Forgive us."
Then they used Greater Void Shift to disappear. Normally, it would be an act of great disrespect that could cost them their lives, but they had no choice at that moment.
The old man said, "I should prepare something for my grandson as well. A False Phoenix would go well with the False Dragon. I can’t fall behind my own disciple now, can I?"
Then he also disappeared.
The Heavenly Demon said, "Do you have a treasure, an old herb, unique metal, anything?"
Tang Mi-Yeon said, "I have the preserved soul of the Nine Headed Serpent that you gave me as my dowry."
The Heavenly Demon said, "What about the rest of its body? Its Nine Venoms Spirit Core?"
She replied, "I still have some leftover blood essence, but that is all. I used the rest to break through."
The Heavenly Demon said, "Go get it."
Tang Mi-Yeon said, "I already have it with me."
Her necklace glowed, and a vial and an orb appeared in her hand.
The Heavenly Demon asked with curiosity, "Space jade?"
She nodded. He said, "Get that as well."
Then he disappeared and reappeared with a rough ball made of deep red and gold metal. Then he grabbed Tang Mi-Yeon and disappeared. He appeared at the cliff he had thrown Zeke from. All of the others had also arrived on the scene, and what they were witnessing... well, it was shocking to say the least.
A storm of red and black, with vengeful spirits howling so loudly that it would drive weaker martial artists insane. Even though the storm was on one end of the Abyss, it was pulling over all of the vengeful spirits in the Abyss. Just then, the Heavenly Demon received a voice transmission from Zeke.
