The crowd was in turmoil. The Vice Head shouted, "Silence!!"
The crowd became silent. He called a group of medics to tend to the injured member. They took him away. He stared at Zeke and saw the surprise in his eyes. But he still had to do something. He said, "Ryeong, did you do that intentionally?"
Zeke replied, "No Sir, I did not. I recently broke through to the Demon realm and still haven’t been able to control my power perfectly. I apo-"
"Bullshit!!"
He was interrupted by a member of the Demon Sword Squad, who rushed at him with his sword unsheathed. Zeke’s eyes became cold. He could see that the member had the intention of killing him, or at least seriously injuring him with this surprise attack. Just as the member got close enough to attack, he felt intense dread.
He stopped instantly. He heard a voice that seemed to come from the icy depths of hell in his war, "You even try to move and you will die."
He felt a slight sting and a dripping wet sensation on his throat. He didn’t know what had happened but the crowd and the people in the arena had seen it very clearly. When he was rushing towards Zeke, Woo seemed to have turned into a lightning bolt and had appeared behind him with her rapier resting on his throat.
That wasn’t all. Woong and Bum had also taken a battle stance. One wrong move and that member’s body would be split into two, or his head crushed into paste. The rest of the members of the Demon Sword Squad shouted, "Let him go!!"
They were about to rush towards them but suddenly, everyone in the arena felt an intense pressure restricting their movement. It was the Vice Head. He said, "Do you think that I’m a joke?"
The pressure disappeared and Zeke said, "Stand down."
The trio nodded and lowered their weapons. Seeing this the Vice Head nodded and looked at the Demon Sword Squad’s leader. He also looked at his squadmates and said, "Stand down."
The Vice Head said, "Seeing that you are so eager to fight, we should begin today’s battle. Both leaders come to me."
Zeke and the opposing leader walked towards the Vice Head. He looked at the opposing leader and said, "The Little Demons challenged your squad, you have the right to decide the format of today’s challenge."
The opposing leader stared at Zeke and said, "Battle royale."
Zeke replied, "I wouldn’t have it any other way."
The crowd could almost see the sparks flying between them. None were willing to stand down, especially after all that had just happened. The opposing leader said, "Good. Remember that when you lose later. Don’t use it as an excuse."
Zeke smiled and said, "That’s interesting. I wanted to tell you the same thing."
The Vice Head coughed and said, "Now that that’s settled, let us begin. We have already wasted too much time."
Zeke thought, ’Says the one who started all this commotion.’
Both of them walked back to their corners. Zeke looked at the trio and said, "Now that it has already come to this, go absolutely wild. We will destroy them."
Woo said, "But what about holding back?"
Zeke looked at her with a deadpan expression. He said, "You do realize that you were the one who attracted the most attention after me?"
Woo became embarrassed and said, "Well..."
Then they heard the Vice Head’s voice, "Is everyone ready?"
Both teams raised their weapons. They looked at him and nodded. He said, "Remember, you may maim your opponents, but under no conditions can you kill them. Begin!"
Then it happened. In the blink of an eye, an arrow was in front of Zeke’s face. Zeke ducked, while Woo rushed towards the archer. She was responsible for dealing with the long range enemies. Zeke would first deal with the strongest opponent, the leader. Woong would battle the other Demon realm opponent, while Bum would deal with the rest.
Zeke saw that the leader was coming towards him. It looked like he had similar intentions. He also rushed towards him, with Bum taking care of any small fry that came in between. He used the flat side of his ax to knock them away as he didn’t want to kill them. As they were nearing each other, Bum left to deal with the others. The leader and Zeke stared at each other. The leader asked, "Why did you do that to Eun-Ho?"
Zeke asked, "Eun-Ho?"
The leader said, "The member that you ’accidentally’ injured."
Zeke replied, "But it really was an acci-Wait. Why am I explaining myself to you? We are here to fight so let’s fight."
The leader said nothing and slashed at Zeke. His blade glowed in a dim orange light. Zeke could feel that this sword was extremely sharp and had a burning effect. The leader probably cultivated a fire attributed technique along with a fire attributed sword technique. He parried the slash with the upper blade of Sasin, and counterattacked with the lower blade without missing a single beat. The leader dodged and created some distance between them.
Unfortunately for him, that was the wrong move against an opponent like Zeke. Zeke took the chance and rushed towards the leader. He started his seemingly never ending chain of attacks that only became more and more ferocious. The leader was forced into a passive position, doing his best to either parry or dodge these attacks. Whenever he tried to attack, he would feel a threat.
Apart from a few experts from Divine Hell, none of the crowd was focused on their intense battle. No, the rest of the arena was more interesting to them. Because they couldn’t believe what was happening. It was a one sided massacre. And not the way they had expected it to be.
Woong kept the vice leader occupied while Woo and Bum dealt with the small fry. and they were quick. Because they had a lot of experience fighting against multiple opponents. Especially multiple weaker enemies.
Even they were surprised at how easy this was until they remembered that they had chosen this team before they had broken through. Then it all made sense. They probably should have chosen a Lower Squad that ranked a little higher, somewhere between ranks 9-6. They were done but Woong was still battling the vice leader. He didn’t look like he needed help.
So, they knocked every opponent out, gathered them, and dislocated their limbs. At least the remaining ones. After all, precaution is better than cure. They could also stimulate their acupoints but they weren’t that familiar with the human anatomy and didn’t want to accidentally kill anybody.
Soon, Woong also finished his fight with a liver shot. The vice leader coughed blood and fainted. He hit him in the head a few times just for good measure and after ensuring that he really was unconscious, he placed him on his shoulder like a sack of potatoes and took him to the mountain that Woo and Bum had created. He threw him there and stood with them, focusing on Zeke’s battle.
Both Zeke, and the leader, were moving very fast. The servants in the audience were only able to see flashes. Bum looked at Woo and asked, "Is it only me or is Ryeong...playing around with the leader?"
Woo shook her head and said, "It might look like that but he isn’t. The leader of the Demon Sword Squad is strong. And he also uses a thin sword, so he is a speed based swordsman like me.
Ryeong on the other hand, is also a speed based warrior but there is a distinct difference between the two. Ryeong relies greatly on the momentum he generates with his weapon, landing stronger blows at high speeds.
But that also restricts him. And although the leader’s attacks are weaker, he has much more flexibility in his attack patterns. We should also keep in mind that the cultivation difference between the two also makes the strength difference between the attacks almost negligible."

Woo controlled her laughter while Woong patted Bum’s shoulder while shaking his head. He said, "I heard that there are very accomplished physicians in the Cult. Get some help."
