Chapter 140: Chapter 134: The Rizz God Returns

Zeke, on the other hand, was grinning gleefully. They had succeeded. They had fucking succeeded. It was a huge gamble, one that could have cost Damon his life and Aurevion two Neo-Nephilim Emperors. But against all odds, they had pulled it off.

Every Emperor was an important figure, as their bloodline was only inferior to Cass and Zeke themselves, which said something about their potential. And Zeke had no qualms about holding the two—Damon’s life and the two potential Neo-Nephilim Emperors—in the same regard. To him, they were equally valuable, each a pillar of what was to come.

He clapped his hands together, the sound sharp and final. "Well then, let’s test your limits."

Damon frowned, rubbing his temple as if trying to stave off an impending headache. "What do you mean by my limits? You do realize that I’m back to being unawakened, don’t you?"

Zeke’s smirk deepened. "I do. But—"

Cass picked up where he left off. "Zeke and I were able to battle and win against some low-level F Grades back when we were unawakened. And we weren’t even Neo-Nephilim yet. Just regular Neo-Humans."

Damon’s mouth opened slightly as he stared at the two in shock. He turned to Leonel, hoping for some kind of reassurance, but the boy simply sighed, clearly amused by the situation. That was not the reaction Damon had been hoping for.

Leonel met his gaze and shrugged. "It’s true. Apparently, these two were quite famous in school."

Zeke ran a hand through his hair and smirked. "Please, our battle prowess was the least of the reasons behind our fame. Nah, it was our looks. And wealth."

Cass wanted to disagree but realized that, as much as he hated to admit it, Zeke wasn’t wrong. With a sigh, he muttered, "Yeah. Although I hate to admit it, he’s right. Hell, Zeke here had a girlfriend at the innocent age of seven. He was even given the name ’Rizz God’ by the third graders. True story."

Zeke’s expression darkened instantly. A circle of runes flickered into existence above his hand, and a similar one appeared above Cass’s head. Cass barely had a second to react before a small lightning bolt struck the ground where he had been standing just a moment earlier.

Cass let out an exaggerated gasp and took a step back. "Bro, what the hell?"

Zeke crossed his arms, his expression unimpressed. "For the last time, she was not my girlfriend. Come on, man, I thought you were more mature than that."

Cass tilted his head, as if deep in thought. "I don’t know if you’ve forgotten this, but we’re—wait, how old are we again?"

Leonel answered, deadpan, "Almost thirteen."

Cass snapped his fingers. "Right, we’re thirteen years old. We’re supposed to be immature."

Zeke paused, as if considering that, then sighed dramatically. "I need a drink."

Leonel and Cass yelled at the same time, "NO!!"

Zeke muttered under his breath, "Damn this juvenile body."

At this point, Damon, who had been watching their antics with increasing exasperation, coughed loudly. "Um, guys, before we do anything else, you all need to tell me what the hell is going on here. You know, I’ve been confused and shocked from the moment I stepped foot in this place."

He gestured vaguely before pointing at Leonel. "First of all, I’ve seen the Mad Immortal’s photo. He—" Damon narrowed his eyes. "—doesn’t look anything like that. He looks more like any gym rat’s wet dream instead of a boy our age."

Leonel smirked but said nothing.

Damon turned to Zeke next, his expression shifting into something more serious. "Second of all, how many people have you killed to have a killing intent so intense? How are you not in jail or, logically, executed? Also—and this just came to me—but how do you know so much?"

Zeke raised a brow but said nothing, letting Damon continue.

Damon inhaled sharply, gathering his thoughts before finishing, "It would be physically impossible for you to know this much even if you started studying in the womb. And I’m familiar with that look in your eyes. I see it every night when I go to sleep. The look of an unhinged, possibly psychotic mad scientist who’s willing to do anything to achieve his goals."

Silence followed. Then, Damon exhaled and leaned back slightly. "Damn, that felt good."

The trio exchanged glances, clearly thrown off by Damon’s outburst. Leonel leaned toward Zeke and whispered, "Are you sure that the boy is a Saint?" fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓

Zeke squinted at Damon, his expression uncertain. He was thinking the same thing. Just to be sure, he checked again. But the Faith string connecting him to Damon was just as strong as before. There was only one difference between then and now—Damon’s bloodline.

Zeke grinned again and said, "Cass, do you remember how I called Damon the Murderer?"

Cass blinked, thinking back, before nodding. "Yeah. Wasn’t it some stupid prophecy that you stole from some old-ass show? Something about the Monarch, the Madman, and the Murderer?"

Zeke nodded, his grin widening. "Well, we might have succeeded a bit too overwhelmingly."

Cass frowned. "What do you mean?"

Zeke’s grin turned almost feral. "The brainwashing effect of Faith doesn’t affect him anymore."

Damon’s eyes widened. "Wait—brainwashing?!"

Then he stiffened. "Zeke, explain. Now."

Zeke stretched his arms lazily. "Relax, it’s not as sinister as it sounds. Faith is designed to instill loyalty and obedience to higher beings. But Damon... well, it seems like he’s completely immune to it now."

Leonel’s expression darkened. "That’s not normal. Saints are supposed to be paragons of faith. If Damon isn’t affected..."

Damon crossed his arms. "Oh, don’t stop now. Go on, say it."

Zeke chuckled. "It means you’re special, Damon. Exceptionally so. You’re different from a regular Neo-Nephilim."

Cass groaned, rubbing his temples. "Yeah, because being a regular Neo-Nephilim wasn’t already complicated enough."

Damon sighed and sat down. "Great. Just great. First, I nearly die. Then, I wake up with you three lunatics talking about crazy prophecies and battle prowess. Now, I find out that I’m supposedly some anomaly who’s immune to divine influence. I swear, if one more insane revelation drops, I might actually lose it."

Leonel patted his shoulder. "Oh, don’t worry, we haven’t even gotten to the fun part yet."

Damon gave him a deadpan look. "Oh, fantastic."

Cass took out a chair from his space ring and placed it behind Damon. "You might wanna sit down for this."

Damon narrowed his eyes. "Sit down for what?"

Zeke smirked. "What else other than the answers to your questions."

He leaned forward slightly, eyes gleaming with anticipation. "It all began..."
