Chapter 134: Chapter 128: Another One

Cass and Damon shivered at the same time. In their eyes, Zeke was no longer Zeke. His voice no longer sounded like his own, and for a brief moment, an overwhelming presence filled the space around them. They could have sworn they saw a man with four arms, seated on a lotus throne, surrounded by a river of blood. He was clad in red and black battle robes, exuding an aura of unrestrained carnage. One of his hands gripped a weapon with a blade on either side of the handle, and his lips curled into a gleefully murderous smile.

It was only a second, maybe less. They blinked, and the vision vanished. But the sensation it left behind remained, a chilling trace of something ancient and bloodthirsty.

Damon gasped slightly, his breath uneven, while Cass clenched his fists, forcing himself to steady his mind. He had seen something similar before—or rather, he had heard about it. That figure matched the description Zeke had once given of his body in Murim.

His eyes hardened as he said, "Zeke, calm down. Your killing intent is leaking out."

Zeke snapped out of it almost immediately, blinking a few times before realizing what had happened. He exhaled sharply, running a hand through his hair as he muttered, "My bad. The last time I got this excited, we slaughtered all the top brass of the Righteous Alliance. Must’ve stirred up my bloodlust."

Cass narrowed his eyes. "Just don’t let it happen again. But you need to explain yourself."

While Cass was trying to get answers, Damon was still grappling with what he had just heard.

Slaughtered the top brass of the Righteous Alliance?

He ran through his mental archives, searching for any organization by that name in the Federation—but there was nothing. No group, no movement, nothing remotely close to what Zeke was talking about.

And even if such an organization existed, just how many had Zeke killed personally to amass a killing intent that strong? Damon was no stranger to battle. He knew what it took to develop an aura like that. It wasn’t something that came from a few skirmishes or even a handful of missions—it was the kind of presence forged through years on the frontlines, through blood-soaked battlefields and endless carnage.

But Zeke was just a kid. Younger than him, even. How could he possibly—

His stomach twisted. What the hell have I gotten myself into?

Zeke must have noticed Damon’s unsettled expression because he sighed and said, "Not right now. It’s best if we have this conversation with Grandpa. Last time, I had to repeat my story so much that even I was getting sick of it."

Cass nodded in agreement, but then his gaze shifted to Damon, and he suddenly realized something. Damon’s back was completely soaked with sweat.

"Damon, are you okay? Do you need some water?"

Damon shook his head. "Nope. I just need some answers."

Zeke smirked slightly. "And you’ll get them. But first, I need to make sure I’m right before I tell you anything." fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm

Damon remained silent. He didn’t want to hope. Life had taught him again and again that hope only led to disappointment. But no matter how much he tried to suppress it, he couldn’t stop the thought from forming—the possibility that Zeke had the answers he had been searching for. Answers about his past. About what he was. And maybe, just maybe, a way to finally put his nightmares to rest.

Cass lightened the mood with a joke, and the rest of the flight passed with a more relaxed atmosphere. When they finally landed and exited the plane, they were greeted by a man waiting for them near the arrival gate.

Alexi.

The moment he saw them, a wide grin spread across his face. He pulled both Cass and Zeke into a hug before his gaze landed on Damon.

Raising a brow, he asked, "Boys, why don’t you introduce me to your... friend?"

Zeke gestured toward Damon. "Right, this is Damon. Damon, this is our Godfather, Alexi."

Alexi nodded, giving him an appraising look. "Nice to meet you, Damon. I hope you’re here willingly and that these two didn’t kidnap you."

The three boys went silent for a second, staring at Alexi in disbelief. But then, considering how Zeke operated... well, they had to admit, it was a valid question.

Damon, on the other hand, forced a laugh—only to stop midway when he realized Alexi wasn’t joking. He glanced at Cass and Zeke before thinking to himself, What kind of crazy situation have I walked into?

Clearing his throat, he said, "Nice to meet you, sir. And yes, I’m here by choice."

Alexi chuckled. "Good. This is the first time these two have actually brought a friend home. Honestly, Kat and I were starting to worry they’d never make any friends at the Academy."

Cass chimed in, "Aunty Kat is our Godmother."

Zeke, however, wasn’t in the mood for small talk. "We’ll introduce him to everyone later. Right now, we need to see Grandpa. It’s urgent."

Alexi’s lighthearted demeanor shifted slightly as he studied Zeke’s expression. Then, he gave a small nod. "Well, he’s been holed up in the lab ever since you guys left."

"Perfect."

As Alexi turned to leave, he gave Damon a final glance and said, "Just a heads-up, kid—brace yourself."

Damon frowned. What the hell does that mean?

Unfortunately for him, he was about to find out.

As they walked through the estate, Damon took in his surroundings, eyes wide with awe. He had heard stories about the Reed Residence, the place where Nephilim Pharmaceuticals was founded. But standing here, seeing it with his own eyes—it was something else entirely. The estate had undergone numerous expansions and renovations over the years, turning it into a veritable fortress of wealth and power.

Finally, they entered the lab.

The moment they stepped inside, Zeke called out, "Grandpa! Guess who’s back!!"

Silence.

Then, a voice responded, "Goddammit, boy. Do you have to announce yourself like that?"

Damon froze. That voice—it wasn’t the deep, gravelly tone of an old man. It was the voice of a teenager.

And then, the shock truly set in.

A boy, no older than fourteen, stepped into view.

Damon’s jaw nearly dropped. "T-this is your grandfather?"

Zeke smirked. "Yeah. Don’t judge by appearances. He’s an old monster. He’s older than the three of us combined... times five. Oh, right—let me introduce you to the Mad Immortal of the Federation, Leonel Vitali."

For a moment, Damon’s brain short-circuited. free𝑤ebnovel.com

Leonel Vitali. The Mad Immortal. The genius who created the Supreme Exercise. The man who pioneered Neo-Human evolution.

That Leonel Vitali?

Then, Alexi’s words finally made sense.

But unfortunately for Damon, that wasn’t what Alexi had been warning him about.

No, he had simply spent enough time around Zeke to know that the guy had an uncanny ability to casually drop mind-shattering revelations like they were nothing.

Leonel narrowed his eyes. "Brat, I thought we agreed to keep my identity a secret until I recovered. Who’s the other brat?"

Zeke grinned. "That’s Damon. And if I’m right... he’s another child of Project Half-Blood."

At that moment, everything in Damon’s world changed.
