Chapter 27: Finally did it!
Downstairs, on the first floor of Oliver’s Restaurant, the atmosphere was completely different.
While Abigail and her friends enjoyed breakfast in one of the most exclusive private dining rooms upstairs, Anna stood near the entrance feeling increasingly frustrated.
This was not how today was supposed to go.
The celebrity had carefully chosen her outfit, makeup, and even the restaurant itself. She wanted pictures. She wanted attention. Most importantly, she wanted her friends to see that she belonged among the wealthy elite.
Instead, she was standing outside like an ordinary customer.
The receptionist in front of her remained calm and professional despite the growing crowd.
"I’m sorry, Miss Anna. The VIP section requires a reservation."
Anna maintained her elegant smile. A camera was already pointed in her direction. Several fans had recognised her immediately.
"Oh my God, that’s Anna!"
"I knew it!"
"I told you she comes here!"
"Take pictures!" One girl happily pulled out a professional camera.
Anna’s smile widened slightly.
Good. At least someone appreciated her presence. She casually adjusted her hair and pretended not to notice the growing excitement around her.
Monica moved closer. "Not even the VIP section?" she whispered in disbelief.
Anna felt embarrassed. This was supposed to be simple. How difficult was it to enter a restaurant?
The problem wasn’t even the restaurant itself. The problem was all these people watching. She could practically feel dozens of eyes staring at her.
Some were filming. Others were taking photos. A few were already posting online.
If she handled this badly, the videos would spread immediately.
The receptionist remained completely unmoved. "I’m sorry, Miss. The rules apply to everyone."
Anna’s eye twitched. Everyone? Did he seriously compare her to everyone?
She was Anna Williams with millions of followers and countless endorsements.
A rising celebrity, for that matter! Yet this man looked at her the same way he looked at ordinary customers.
Monica folded her arms."This place is ridiculous."
Sarah nodded immediately. "We should just leave."
Anna almost laughed.
Leave? After she had bragged about bringing them here?
Absolutely not!
She lowered her voice. "We can’t leave."
Monica frowned. "Why?"
Anna looked toward the elevators leading upstairs. "You have no idea who you can meet in the VIP section."
That part was true. Actors, directors, higher models, Investors, Business heirs or even Socialites.
One lucky meeting could create countless opportunities. And if they recognised her?
That will be even better! The attention alone would boost her popularity.
Sarah seemed hesitant. "But we’re being watched."
Anna sighed.
That was exactly the problem. She couldn’t simply slip money into the receptionist’s hand.
Not with cameras everywhere. The internet was terrifying.
People could read lips. Analyze movements. Create stories from absolutely nothing. She moved closer to Monica and Sarah.
"We can’t mention money."
Monica nodded immediately. "I know, people online are crazy."
Sarah agreed. "They’ll turn it into a scandal."
Anna rubbed her forehead. For a moment, she considered giving up.
Then an idea came to her mind. Her gaze slowly travelled toward the receptionist. The man was annoyingly handsome.
Monica immediately noticed the look and shook her head, "No."
Sarah looked confused. "What?"
Monica pointed at Anna, "She’s planning something stupid."
"I’m not. Relax." Anna rolled her eyes.
Monica crossed her arms. "I know that look."
Anna smiled sweetly and suddenly stepped forward.
The cameras immediately followed her movement. The receptionist remained calm.
Anna stopped in front of him. Then she bowed slightly. The crowd instantly exploded with admiration.
"She’s so polite!"
"So humble!"
"I love her!"
"She’s beautiful!"
Anna almost smiled.
Perfect! Exactly the reaction she wanted.
The receptionist looked down at her. "Miss?"
Anna lowered her voice. "Can we discuss this privately?"
The receptionist didn’t respond immediately. His eyes remained fixed on her. Anna maintained her smile. Years in the entertainment industry had taught her many things.
Including how to ask certain questions without actually asking them.
The receptionist seemed to understand. His gaze shifted toward Monica and Sarah.
For a long moment, he remained silent. Monica looked uncomfortable.
Finally, the receptionist spoke. "Privately?"
Anna nodded. The man stared at her for several seconds. Then something surprising happened.
He nodded!
"The three of you."
The smile almost slipped from Anna’s face. freeweɓnovel.cøm
All three? She chuckled and was glad at least, it won’t be only her...
The receptionist nodded. "There are two other people involved."
The girls exchanged confused looks.
The man continued calmly. "Someone will have to escort you upstairs."
Then he pointed toward another employee nearby. "Someone else will arrange the services you want."
Finally, he pointed at himself. "And I will need to account for the missing payment from a few days ago."
Anna nodded eagerly. Glad the receptionist had understood exactly what she meant.
Not only that.
He had already found a way for his own benefit without breaking one of the rules.
The additional charges would simply appear somewhere else.
No direct payment or new suspicious transaction, or worse, obvious bribery.
Everything would look normal.
Anna suddenly felt impressed. The man was smarter than she expected.
Monica quickly grabbed her arm. "Anna...."
Anna looked at her and raised a brow.
"Shouldn’t we think about this first?"
Anna immediately shook her head."What to think of?" The opportunity was too good. She wasn’t leaving. Not when she was this close or when everyone was watching.
The receptionist waited patiently for her final answer.
Anna straightened her posture and smiled. "Fine."
The man nodded. Without another word, he picked up a communication device... " You can send your payment to the company’s account"
.....
A few seconds later, another employee appeared. "Take them to Tonny"
The employee nodded respectfully. "This way, ladies."
Anna felt victorious. Problems always had solutions. You just needed to find the right people.
The receptionist stepped aside. "Enjoy your visit."
Anna smiled elegantly. "Thank you."
Then she turned and followed the employee toward the private elevators. The moment she stepped inside the VIP section, she couldn’t stop smiling.
Finally! She did it! Her parents will be proud of her! The VIP section. Exactly where she belonged!
