William stopped his attacks, looked towards the Hybrid as if he were eyeing a precious treasure that had been snatched by a fierce enemy.
"It looks like... I’m still too weak to fight... Humans like you..."
The Hybrid talked, totally shocking William. He had never heard of this before. Hybrids couldn’t speak, up to his knowledge.
"What are you?" William instantly barked. But the Hybrid felt more uneasy the more he looked at William and recalled how the battle had unfolded in the past few minutes.
At one point, it felt instant fear controlling its body, and then it fled the scene without even looking back once.
"One day... One day I’ll come back... And I’ll be strong enough... To kill you..."
William stood in the middle of his protective arrays, looking at the fleeting back of the Hybrid monster. For a moment there, he grew tempted to stalk that creature and uncover more about it. And yet, he didn’t.
"This zone is its turf," he muttered to himself, "and it’s not a normal Hybrid either; it’s sane. It’s super dangerous, but luckily it’s not strong enough to kill me."
William knew the Hybrid monster wasn’t joking around; it sat its gaze upon William. And it would keep harassing him from time to time.
"Another headache added to the list." William rubbed the back of his neck. "Still, it was a good decision to go outside and roam the area. Let’s see if there is another hidden danger lurking in these regions."
For days he kept walking and exploring, yet he didn’t find anything abnormal or dangerous. And yet he didn’t feel that much dejected. After all, he found lots of rich mines and even a fortress far north of where his base was.
All these were quite valuable, not only for replenishing the needs of his defensive arrays, formations, and traps back at the base, but it was also important in producing potions, elixirs, and forging good weapons that would suit the upper realm.
Even if he supplied lots of weapons he gained from killing upper realm masters, the amount wasn’t enough to satisfy everyone’s needs. Plus, these weapons were tailored and adjusted to suit the needs and specifics of the upper realm masters.
As they had already arrived here, William decided it was better to forge new weapons for his masters. These weapons would grow alongside the master, which added more to their immense value.
"What is considered an obstacle in the upper realm isn’t a problem in this zone."
He couldn’t restrain himself from laughing. What stopped masters in the upper realm from forging decent growth-based weapons was the lack of the right materials. But this wasn’t a problem here.
On top of that, there was another problem of the lack of certain types of flames that could be produced only by using the help of rare cores. Yet in here, with the shadow monsters alone, he was confident in producing a good quality of fire that could melt the hardest of ores.
As for finding the right talents to forge these weapons, he didn’t lack capable blacksmiths in the master lot who came with him.
He just needed to write down manuals for how to forge these weapons and draw detailed instructions about how to execute every step. And he was sure that by the end of their first year here, everyone would be armed with decent weapons and even other gear like armours, shields, and even gauntlets.

When he returned, he found lots of worms attacking his base. Even from far away, the sounds of the brutal fighting echoed and travelled for a far distance.
"This..."
Once he noticed this, he started to grow a bit restless. The noise coming from all the fights was quite intense and loud, not something he ever expected to be a problem before.
But if he could hear it from far away, then monsters could hear it from far beyond.
"This is why more worms kept coming- what a nuisance!"
Once he approached, he was startled to see hundreds of worms attacking the safe base from different directions. This number was quite high, especially when considering they were attacking at the same time.
As he walked through the different battlefields, he fought the worm kings and elites he met. And he didn’t meet just one or two; he found dozens of these.
His masters could easily handle a normal worm group, but a group led by a worm king and elites was quite troublesome. Once he appeared, the morale of his masters skyrocketed, and his girls were the first to pave a path through the carnage and reach his side.
"You are finally here."
Anjie was the first to speak up, while Berry, like usual, threw herself at his embrace without saying a word. Just from a single look, he could easily tell they were far beyond their limit.
"Did you join the fight once you finished training?"
It was obvious their exhaustion wasn’t normal. And the only explanation was for them to join the fight once they ended their training.
Even if they grew stronger from training, any master would need a couple of hours before adjusting the spirit power inside their bodies. Yet if they joined the fights instantly, then they would suffer from such weakness and fatigue.
"We had to," Lara sighed, "many worms were already attacking the dome, and Fang alone wasn’t able to stop all of them. So we had to intervene and join the fight. Yet thanks to Fang’s experienced masters, we gained good footing once we joined, learnt how to handle these monsters."
"Except for those colossal worms," Ro gritted her teeth, "I tried, more than once, and failed to even kill one of them."
