Chapter 81: A Shaman
Before the growling Big Ice, Caelum was still attempting to hand over the glowing "candy" when he suddenly sensed something suspicious nearby.
Without hesitation, he unleashed his Spirit Sense throughout the surrounding area.
Instantly, the nearby battlefield appeared clearly within his perception.
However, something was wrong.
Although his Spirit Sense detected nothing unusual, his eyes clearly saw movement.
Caelum’s expression sharpened immediately.
He suddenly raised his hand coated in Aura and grabbed toward empty space.
CLANG!
Something invisible collided against his palm.
[Freezing Touch]
Cold Qi rapidly flowed from Caelum’s hand as several ice daggers instantly formed around his fingers before launching forward. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
However, just before the freezing energy fully spread across the hidden figure, the opponent abandoned the weapon entirely and retreated backward.
Caelum’s gaze remained locked onto the invisible presence.
"You can actually see me," the hidden figure muttered in surprise while creating distance.
Meanwhile, Caelum casually tossed the glowing pearl into Big Ice’s cage.
The small Yeti immediately caught it. frёeωebɳovel.com
The moment the pearl touched his hands, Big Ice sensed an extremely mysterious energy flowing from it.
And he instinctively felt that the pearl had been created specifically for him.
Without hesitation, Big Ice swallowed the large glowing "candy" whole.
Meanwhile, Caelum looked calmly toward the invisible figure.
"What do you mean?" he asked casually.
"Are you invisible or something?"
His eyes remained fixed toward a particular location where the fluctuations of Arder constantly shifted between Expert and Master level.
’So this place really is isolated somehow,’ Caelum thought inwardly.
Through his [Heaven Reading Eyes], he realized the hidden barbarian seemed to control the concealment of the surrounding area through a special artifact or technique.
Then Caelum’s eyes zoomed outward beyond the hidden base.
Far away in the snowy mountains, he noticed several Yetis wandering nearby.
However, none of them approached this location.
’Does Big Ice possess some unusually high status among the Yetis?’ he wondered.
Then the hidden figure finally removed her concealment.
A barbarian girl appeared before him.
She possessed tribal tattoos across her body, a strange crown-like ornament around her head, and a glowing lantern held within one hand.
"Unfortunately for you, our orders only require us to bring Bonjour alive." the barbarian girl muttered coldly as her gaze sharpened.
"There were no instructions regarding some random human child."
Caelum calmly observed her.
"That’s unfortunate indeed, but I don’t think you’ll be able to kill me." he replied.
Then his eyes shifted toward the lantern in her hand.
"And that lamp of yours seems pretty important too."
The barbarian girl narrowed her eyes.
A sword suddenly materialized within her hand while ominous green energy spread across its blade.
"We’ll see whether I can kill you or not," she said coldly.
Meanwhile, Caelum suddenly sensed something changing as he glanced toward Big Ice’s cage.
"Well..." Caelum muttered calmly.
"It seems Big Ice is finally becoming big."
BOOOOOOM!
A blinding white light erupted from inside the cage.
The sound of shifting bones and expanding muscles echoed violently throughout the hidden base.
ROOOOAAAAARRRRR—!
Big Ice released a furious roar that violently shook the entire hidden base.
The sound was so loud that it spread far beyond the isolated region protecting the barbarians’ hideout, instantly drawing the attention of nearby Yetis wandering through the snowy mountains.
The barbarian girl’s expression immediately turned ugly.
"We’ve been discovered," she muttered.
Without hesitation, she crushed the strange lantern in her hand.
CRACK!
The lantern shattered apart as a mysterious liquid resembling glowing oil spilled across the snow.
The next moment, countless hidden symbols beneath the ground suddenly lit up.
The entire concealed area began glowing faintly as mysterious power surged through the surroundings.
The nearby barbarians instantly felt their strength increase dramatically.
"It’s the emergency signal!"
"Finish this quickly!"
"We’re retreating soon!"
"Suppress that bastard first! And two of you, cut off his legs!"
Meanwhile, the other battle still had not ended.
Bonjour continued rampaging alone against multiple barbarians while black smoke poured endlessly from his body.
Caelum calmly observed the glowing formations beneath the snow.
"So this is some sort of enhancement technique?" he asked with visible interest.
Then his eyes brightened slightly.
"I want to learn that too."
The barbarian shaman suddenly felt overwhelming danger erupt from Caelum’s body.
BOOOOM!
His Qi exploded outward in full force.
At the same time, the surrounding space itself seemed to contract near the shaman.
The barbarian shaman’s expression instantly changed.
’What the hell is this?! Space magic?!’ Her pupils shrank sharply.
’He doesn’t even look older than ten!’
[Heaven Dominating Divine Sword Art] — Third Form
[Heaven’s Dominion]
Brilliant blue Sword Qi erupted violently around Caelum before descending toward the shaman with terrifying force.
The attack came so quickly and occupied the entire space, that escape became nearly impossible.
The barbarian girl immediately raised her sword.
Massive amounts of green Arder exploded outward through her slash in an attempt to defend herself.
However, she was still overpowered.
SLASH!
A deep wound instantly appeared across her right shoulder.
Although she barely managed to protect herself from a fatal strike, the damage was severe enough that wielding her weapon properly would now become extremely difficult.
"You little brat!" the shaman screamed furiously while clutching her shoulder.
"You actually dared to injure me?!"
Meanwhile, Caelum looked at her calmly.
"How weak," he replied bluntly.
Even he had not expected the attack to deal such heavy damage in a single strike, and he had expected the shaman to be strong.
But because the shaman had underestimated him completely, the damage was great.
CRAAAAACK!
The reinforced cage imprisoning Big Ice finally shattered apart completely.
The small Yeti’s body rapidly expanded larger and larger while terrifying icy energy erupted outward.
ROOOAAARRRR—!
The former four-foot-tall Big Ice had now grown nearly four times larger.
With another furious roar, Big Ice leaped across an enormous distance and landed directly beside the barbarians surrounding Bonjour.
Meanwhile, the shaman’s expression became far graver after witnessing this sudden development.
With an angry face, she slowly raised her other hand, and eerie green flames immediately ignited within her palm.
