Chapter 88: Change of Plans
Deep within Obsidian Hallow, Azazel, Helen, Eris and the princes were bickering.
"I know he’s grown powerful, but can he really be so powerful that we can’t stop him at all?" Azazel demanded.
"I’m not sure. I think we should send around 300 armored titans to fight them and see what happens. I feel this is a good amount and won’t power him up too much, even if the party helps in the fight. The armored titans are the next level of titans. There are still 5 levels of titans above that. Don’t send any werewolves or demons, let the titans do the work and try to trample Sorbella." Eris ordered.
"Why have we given them so much time?" Azazel demanded.
"Do you really not trust us anymore my love? There was a time when you weren’t this angry with us all the time. We’re doing what’s in the best interest of all of us."
"I’m sorry Helen, I’m just frustrated. This damn prophecy has changed three times; our hidden ally doesn’t know any new information other than Lox is recruiting gods and goddesses to our side. So far, he’s managed to gather at least 20. He’s doing a great job."
"Then stop worrying and stop being so upset. We’ll see how this armored titan battle goes and re-evaluate. It’s still too early to send a full assault. There’s no point in inheriting Sora and Brie’s power when it’s not near a useful potential for us and we know they will eventually have children. We need their powers as well. They will have unique abilities."
"You’re right--I need to focus on the big picture. I’m being too short-sighted." Azazel surrendered.
"I’ll send the armored titans when the time is right. Hopefully, they don’t see them coming and they crush Sorbella!" Eris stated excitedly.
"That sounds great. Just keep us posted, please," Beezle pleaded.
’It’s almost like we’re an after-thought these days," he thought.
"We will. Everyone is dismissed," Azazel said while teleporting Helen with him to his bedroom.

Six months passed without any battles or threats. Sora and Brie continued to rotate with Celeste on who got to travel with the party. Several birthdays passed, most notably Julius, who turned 17.
In August, Levi’s sword etched a message, "In 3 months’ time, on a cool November night, the titans will send an army to Sorbella."
The party instantly started training daily and cleared any SS dungeon that appeared. They didn’t waste time with anything less than S, as they could quickly clear these dungeons. There was only one time anyone had difficulty, and it was when they were trying out 4 parties of 4 and Julius, Rissa, Luna and Ox were paired up.
Thankfully, Sora and Brie teleported to them when they sensed danger and cleared the threat.
"Sorry you two! We’re just a new team that didn’t quite work well together," Luna pouted.
"Not a big deal. We’re all a big team. Some combinations work, some don’t, but when we’re all together, we all kick tons of ass!" Brie said with her bubbly charisma.
Lucious proposed to Sera, which was awkward for Levi and Sasha, who took things slower. She said yes and the two continued to stay attached at the hip. Lucious spoke to his parents about the possibility of passing on the shadow to Sera. Unfortunately, it was a giant unknown.
Sora didn’t know what level he was anymore, but between the dungeon runs, combined party bonus experience, and training, especially with Brie made him feel like he was somewhere over level 1200. He could hold time for 8 hours with 16 people and almost 48 hours with Brie. It was starting to worry him, but he wouldn’t show it.
"Don’t you get tired holding it for 48 straight hours? Don’t you just want to go to sleep?" Brie asked curiously.
"Yes, but when it’s just you and me, I can still kiss you and fool around with you without breaking my concentration, so I’m becoming even more powerful even more quickly. Remember what you have to do if I go too far."
"That won’t happen babe, I promise."
She pounced on him and they enjoyed a beautiful night and made love several times.

As dawn approached, the party teleported 20 miles outside of Sorbella in the direction the titans were coming from. The titans weren’t exactly stealth.
When they finally arrived, they were glad Lox gave them a heads up that the first set of titans were fodder.
"Holy shit. Those things are HUGE. They have armor over them as well! What do you think we should do, stud?" Levi asked Sora as he drew out his sword.
"Rissa, are you still willing to allow me to link with you so that you have unlimited magical energy?"
Rissa gave a reassuring nod and smile. "Hell yeah! I want to make them chase me around like big, bumbling idiots!"
"You’re lucky I’m not a jealous guy. WAIT! You’ve never use–"
Rissa smacked Julius upside the head. "Of course I’ve never charmed you. How daft can you be?" ƒrēewebnovel.com
The party burst out into laughter. They were watching young love unfold before their eyes.
"Ok everyone, you know the plan. Rissa will lure them around and we’ll work in teams of 7. Celeste is with Bishop at home, so this will be a great test of strength for us without Bishop and a goddess!" Sora beamed with confidence.
’This battle is going to be a joke,’ he thought. He just wanted to encourage his party, so he maintained his usual aura of confidence.
Suddenly, Brie felt woozy. She started violently vomiting. Sora immediately teleported and cast healing magic on her, but she kept throwing up.
"Brie, are you ok?" Sora said while holding her hair back for her.
"I don’t feel well, Sora. Can you please take me home? I don’t think I’m strong enough to teleport."
"I’ll be right back, everyone. Rissa, our link will still work even though I’m not near you. Levi will take command until I return."
Sora teleported Brie back to Celeste.
"What’s going on with Brie? Is she ok?" Sora asked nervously.
Celeste rushed over and teleported the three of them to the hospital room. She laid Brie on the bed and smiled.
"I think I know why you’re sick, Brie."
Brie just moaned in pain. "My stomach hurts, I have a headache and my head keeps spinning."
Celeste used her unique magic to ease Brie’s pain.
"Let me run a few tests."
Sora knelt by Brie and held her hand and used cooling magic on her forehead.
"Thanks babe. That feels really good. You look nice today." Brie said with a smile.
"Thanks, so do you."
Brie burst out into tears. "No, I don’t! I look terrible! I just threw up everywhere. How could you think I look beautiful?!"
"Because no matter what, you’re always the most beautiful person to me in the entire world."
Brie noticed Sora’s chin move and his eyes lit up like they normally did so she finally calmed down.
"I’m hungry. Can you please get me something to eat?"
Sora pulled a food capsule for goddesses out of his dimensional void and used his water magic to pour a glass of water.
"Take this."
Brie swallowed the capsule and drank down the water and gave a resounding "Ah."
Celeste finally was done with her tests and directed the couple’s attention to the screen.
"Is that what I think it is?!" Sora said excitedly.
"Yes, Brie is pregnant with a beautiful baby boy!"
Brie burst into tears of joy and Sora immediately rushed to cuddle with her. His link was still active with Rissa, so it felt a bit strange.
"Your link still works when you’re not near someone?" Celeste asked, surprised.
"Yes, all of my power has grown exponentially. I feel like they’re doing this intentionally." Sora said as he kissed Brie and wiped her tears.
"Let’s not talk about that now! Do you feel better now that you’ve taken the capsule?"
"Yes, thank you so much Celeste. Sora, I love you, I can’t believe we’re finally going to have a baby!"
