Chapter 57: Chapter57-Shattered Mirror City
The Mirrorrealm Witch, standing beside them, continued in her usual cold tone, "In other words, the entirety of Axis City was actually built above the Corridor of the Old Gods."
Hearing this, John finally understood.
Why had Axis City’s central plaza been built so vast?
Why were the City Lord’s Mansion, the Witch Council, and the temples all constructed around the central district?
Why was Axis City able to accommodate so many high-ranking forces at the same time without ever truly falling out of control?
So this place was never an ordinary main city.
It was a sealed city pressing down upon an ancient divine war ruin.
The city itself was part of the seal.
At that moment, the Crowned Witch raised her hand slightly.
A black-gold round table mark appeared in her palm.
Beside her, the Mirrorrealm Witch also raised her hand, and a silver mirror pattern emerged at her fingertips.
In the distance, from the direction of the City Lord’s Mansion, a heavy golden mark lit up as well.
The three marks sank into the nameless stone monument at the very center at the same time.
The next moment, the entire central plaza began to tremble faintly.
One stone tile after another lit up across the ground, forming a massive and exceedingly complex magic array.
John lowered his head and only then realized that the patterns on the plaza floor were not decorations at all.
They were part of a supermassive sealing array that had been hidden for countless years.
Rumble!
Accompanied by a deep humming sound, the nameless stone monument in the center of the plaza slowly began to sink.
Beneath the monument, a pitch-black circular entrance was revealed.
Below the entrance was not a staircase, nor was it a teleportation gate.
It was a bottomless well.
Around the mouth of the well were embedded large numbers of broken divine runes.
Some of the runes had already gone completely dark, while others still pulsed faintly.
They looked like the lingering heartbeats left behind after ancient gods had fallen in battle.
John stepped forward and walked to the edge of the well, then looked down.
There was no end in sight.
All he could see was a massive spiral stairway descending along the inner wall of the well, continuing down into the depths of darkness.
On both sides of the stone steps stood broken stone pillars. Each pillar was carved with different Law symbols.
Some looked like rising flames.
Some looked like stacks of white bones.
Some looked like rotating star trails.
Some looked like refracted mirror surfaces.
And some resembled torn spatial rifts, hideous and violent.
The deeper one looked, the thinner the mana in the air became.
In its place was an aura far heavier and far more ancient.
This was far more terrifying than the aura of monsters inside ordinary dungeons.
Because this was the pressure left behind by Law itself.
John had only just stood at the entrance, yet he could already feel the Spatial Authority within his body tremble slightly, as though awakened by something.
At the same time, the Godhunter’s Mark on the back of his hand flashed abruptly and began to sting faintly.
The Mirrorrealm Witch noticed this. She frowned and glanced at him.
"After entering, do not use your Spatial Law no matter what.
"The Corridor of the Old Gods responds to the power of every entrant. The more you expose yourself, the more dangerous the trial it generates will become."
The Crowned Witch also looked at John, her tone calm yet solemn.
"The Corridor of the Old Gods is not an ordinary dungeon. It will not give you a fixed route, nor will it give you fixed enemies.
"It will form a trial that belongs solely to you based on your soul, class, Law inclination, and obsessions.
"Others enter to comprehend Law.
"You are entering to learn how to control Law.
"The difficulty of the two cannot be treated as the same thing."
John nodded, indicating that he understood.
At that moment, the Mirrorrealm Witch also walked to the edge of the well. She raised her hand and drew a mirror pattern across space.
As silver mirror light sank into the depths of the well, countless mirror fragments suddenly appeared within the darkness below.
Those mirror fragments did not reflect John’s face.
Instead, they reflected a shattered city, twisted corridors, an inverted starry sky, and countless divine statues sliced apart by spatial rifts.
Seeing this scene, the Mirrorrealm Witch’s expression changed slightly.
Even the Crowned Witch beside her narrowed her eyes.
John asked in confusion, "What is that?"
The Mirrorrealm Witch said in a low voice, "As you can see, the Corridor of the Old Gods has already begun responding to us.
"It has mixed your Spatial Law with my Mirror-Realm Law.
"The dungeon scene generated this time probably won’t be an ordinary corridor."
As soon as she finished speaking, a deep rumbling sound came from within the well.
The darkness rippled outward like the surface of water.
A subterranean corridor made of countless shattered mirrors, broken bridges, spatial rifts, and ruined divine statues slowly appeared before the three of them.
The system notification rang out.

...
As John and the Mirrorrealm Witch stepped into the Corridor of the Old Gods one after another, the world before them changed instantly.
They did not appear inside an ordinary corridor.
Instead, they appeared inside a shattered city floating in the dark void.
The entire city looked as though it had been completely torn apart by a divine war.
The streets were broken into disconnected sections.
Bridges hung upside down at the top of the sky.
Half of each building existed in reality, while the other half was embedded inside mirror surfaces.
Countless broken mirror shards floated throughout the city. Each mirror reflected the scene from a different angle.
Some mirrors showed John’s back.
Some showed the place where his foot would land.
Others reflected pale-blue cracks, like wounds left behind after space had been forcibly torn open.
At that moment, a system notification rang out. ƒгeewebnovёl.com
[You have entered the special area: Shattered Mirror City!]
[Current Trial Theme: Law traces, coordinate echoes, reverse concealment!]

The Mirrorrealm Witch looked around, and her expression became extremely ugly.
"The Corridor of the Old Gods really knows how to choose a place."
As soon as she finished speaking, her figure flickered.
She did not continue standing beside John. Instead, she stepped into a nearby shattered mirror.
Under John’s gaze, her body instantly turned into countless fragments of silver light and quickly vanished into the depths of the mirror.
The next moment, every broken mirror throughout the entire Shattered Mirror City lit up at the same time.
The Mirrorrealm Witch’s voice came from every mirror.
"I will keep observing you from within the mirrors.
"And let me remind you—I am not here to be your nanny.
"Unless you are truly about to die, I will not help you.
"You are on your own."
Hearing this, John raised his head and looked at the countless shattered mirrors.
He could not see the Mirrorrealm Witch’s figure inside them.
The Mirrorrealm Witch’s voice rang out again, this time with obvious disdain.
"What are you still staring at? Hurry up and start your trial!"
