Chapter 21: Chapter21-First Encounter with LoranBlade
"Fuck!"
Realizing that the system could not devour them directly, John could not help but curse.
Immediately afterward, he steadied himself, and a massive amount of terrifying fire elements began to gather in front of his chest.
In just a few breaths, a huge and horrifying wave of energy suddenly exploded before the army.
Every soldier caught within the area covered by the energy wave was instantly killed!
However, what was strange was that these soldiers did not leave behind corpses. Instead, they transformed into vast clouds of red sand that drifted through the air.
John’s gaze sharpened as he watched the sand continuously spiral in midair.
As more and more of it gathered, it gradually turned into a gigantic red sandstorm.
Just as John thought the sandstorm was about to sweep toward him, he saw it begin to split apart, then condense once again into the figures of soldiers.
"They can do that?"
John’s eyes widened. At that moment, the soldiers had already raised their spearheads and launched a charge toward him.
Left with no other choice, John could only brace himself and meet them head-on.
With Soulrender in his left hand and a stone hammer summoned into his right, he plunged straight into battle against the charging Old Empire Soldiers.
His sword blade danced through the air, sending one soldier’s head after another flying. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
With a single smash of the stone hammer, several soldiers were blasted apart into red sand.
From time to time, John would also fire a ray of light, cutting every soldier surrounding him cleanly in half at the waist.
Boom, boom, boom!
One man fought alone against an army of thousands, and the ground trembled without end.
The sound of nuclear explosions and clashing armor and weapons rang out continuously!
The entire battlefield had become impossible to see clearly. There were no longer any visible figures, only countless clouds of red sand dancing through the air.
What gave John a headache was that no matter how many soldiers he killed, before long, the red sand would revive that batch of soldiers again.
Inside the dense military formations, even John’s high movement speed was completely restricted.
No matter which direction he tried to break through, he would always fall into another cluster of soldiers.
"Damn it, why are there so many of them? If I had my skills from my previous life, I could’ve just bulldozed my way straight through!"
Looking at the seemingly endless mass of soldiers, John could not help but curse inwardly.
Just then, the soldiers suddenly changed their strategy.
They stopped using their weapons. Instead, in the most primitive manner possible, they threw themselves at him one after another.
They were actually trying to drown John beneath a human wave and bury him here.
Because everything happened in the blink of an eye, John had already been surrounded before he could react.
No matter how fast he swung his sword, no matter how powerfully he smashed down with the stone hammer,
he still could not stop the trend of being suppressed.
After holding out for several minutes, John made a single careless mistake and was tackled to the ground by a soldier behind him.
Boom, boom, boom!
Immediately afterward, it was as though a chain of dominoes had been triggered. Layer after layer of figures piled on top of him, pinning him down so tightly that he could not move.
"Shit!"
John tried several times to force himself up, but each time, he was pressed back down again.
Irritation surged in his heart to the extreme.
Even though his current Strength attribute was enough to split mountains apart, in front of these soldiers who had no fear of life or death, he actually found it difficult to even stand up.
Whoosh!
All of a sudden,
a tremendous roar like a raging hurricane came crashing over.
John suddenly felt his body lighten. The soldiers pressing down on him were blown away one after another like dandelion seeds.
The sky was filled with flying soldiers. John finally had a chance to catch his breath and immediately took the opportunity to break free.
After casually smashing apart the soldiers who surrounded him again with a single punch, he looked toward the direction from which the wind had just come. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
Amid the flying soldiers, a figure clad in silver-white light armor appeared.
It was a female knight. She wore a half-helm on her head, and the armor on her body was incomparably gorgeous.
In her hand, she held a thin sword, and violent wind elements swirled around her entire body.
John’s gaze landed on her right hand. There, he saw a shield that was extremely familiar to him.
"Gravekeeper’s Shield?"
John was slightly shocked.
That shield was precisely the B-rank equipment he had auctioned off not long ago.
Only now did he notice the ID of the person before him.
"LoranBlade?"
At this moment, the broad and heavy Gravekeeper’s Shield had already adjusted its size according to the figure of this female Sword Saint, becoming slender and elegant.
John passed through the group of soldiers and arrived in front of LoranBlade.
LoranBlade stabbed her thin sword into the ground, then reached up and removed her helmet.
Whoosh!
Amid the raging wind, a head of long silver-white hair fluttered in the air.
Between the strands of hair, a fair and exquisite face was revealed.
Her nose bridge was high and delicate, while her amber eyes carried a cold glint.
Her rose-like red lips curved upward slightly, forming a faint smile.
LoranBlade extended her hand slightly.
"Outlander, this should be our first time meeting, right?"
John, however, ignored the gesture and merely pointed at the group of soldiers behind him.
"Save it for later. No time for small talk. These soldiers can revive infinitely."
LoranBlade pulled her thin sword out of the ground again and pointed behind him.
"It’s fine. Everyone’s almost here anyway.
"You were the one who chose to make the teleport point public and caused such a huge commotion. Now everyone knows you’re here."
John’s gaze sharpened, and he looked back.
He saw a massive group of players rushing madly toward the direction where the two of them stood, like a tide of wolves.
Their eyes practically glowed green, all of them driven mad by the rewards of the world quest.
John’s eyelids twitched when he saw this, and he was somewhat speechless.
These people really were the same as always. They would never get up early unless there was something to gain.
With this many players here, they might actually be able to compete with the soldiers in numbers.
LoranBlade put her helmet back on and said calmly,
"You should still have more important business to take care of. Go on, then. Leave these players and soldiers to me.
"After the matter is finished, remember to leave me a share of the benefits."
As soon as she finished speaking, a friend request popped up in front of John.
[LoranBlade has sent you a friend request. Accept?]
John was stunned for a moment, then smiled and clicked accept.
Although this was the first time the two of them had met, John was even more familiar with LoranBlade’s true nature than she herself was.
"Just trust me."
LoranBlade gave a slight nod and swept past him.
At this moment, the player group and the tide of soldiers had already crashed into each other.
Waves of battle cries continued to ring out.
"Kill them! Wipe out all these soldiers! The rewards are right behind them!"
"Hiss—why do these soldiers revive even after being killed?"
"We need to find a way to destroy the red sand they turn into after death as well!"
As expected of the player known as the fourth-ranked genius, even when facing soldiers who could revive infinitely, LoranBlade did not fall into a disadvantage at all.
The battle instantly entered a white-hot stage, and LoranBlade also seized the opportunity to join the fight.
Compared to John’s wide, forceful, and domineering style of combat, LoranBlade was more like a sword light sharpened to the absolute extreme!
Wherever she swept past, a vacuum-like gap would be left behind.
The addition of the players and LoranBlade directly shattered the originally orderly military formation.
Relying on his high movement speed, John began slipping through every opening he could find, bypassing the army’s interception and rapidly approaching the direction of the imperial city.
"I’d like to see what exactly is going on with this final quest!"
