Chapter 328: Chapter 315: Submit to Discipline (Part 2)

Upon hearing this, Jade suddenly laughed. "Seth, is it really that dangerous outside?"

"It is, Aunt Jade. Without a food source, we can’t solve the most basic problem of survival. Our team members have to live!" Seth Warren said with utter helplessness. He knew Flora Bloom and her group were living very well, but he never expected Villa No. 3 to be so harmonious and joyful.

On the wisteria trellis outside the villa, mutated bees were playing with two toddlers, showing none of the fierce, dangerous nature he’d first heard about.

Cynthia Grant, a superpower user, was actually babysitting. Jade and the two children were gardening in the yard. Aside from men he knew were training, like Sherman Lynch and Caleb Bloom, everyone here seemed to be living in perfect harmony, completely untroubled by the apocalyptic crisis.

"Flora Bloom, is there any way to deal with the plants on the base’s perimeter?" Quinn suddenly asked. "If we can just get rid of them, we’ll be able to go outside!"

Seth Warren and Sepherdine chimed in, "That’s right! Once we’re out, we can go back to scavenging for supplies and hunting zombies for Crystal Cores, just like before."

Flora Bloom shook her head thoughtfully. In the end, she decided to tell them the truth about the outside world. They had to be on the same page to plan for the base’s future.

Although she didn’t want to meddle in the base’s affairs, her parents and friends would be living here for a long time. As long as Morhaven wasn’t destroyed, they would probably stay here indefinitely.

"Since you all came looking for me today, there are some things you should know."

The three of them looked at Flora Bloom, baffled. "What’s so serious?"

Flora Bloom, who was usually so calm and nonchalant, now wore a serious expression, which made the three of them even more nervous.

"Come with me." Flora Bloom paused, then looked at Jade, Lisa, and Caleb. "Mom, Caleb, Lisa, you three come along too."

Of course, Jade didn’t know about the situation outside. After living comfortably in the base for so long, most people would gradually let down their guard. The same was true for Jade, even though she was now a superpower user.

The two children were playful, and gardening had recently become their only form of entertainment. They paid no mind to the outside world, and Flora Bloom worried they would become disconnected from reality, losing their awareness and vigilance toward danger.

The group arrived at the shopping mall in what was formerly Area 009. The place had once been occupied by over ten thousand zombies. After Flora Bloom and her team cleared it out, a wall was built around the mall’s perimeter.

This was now the northernmost area of the safe base. It had a side gate that was always kept locked, and only Flora Bloom had the key.

The safe base was now three to four times larger than its original size. Though it covered less than a third of Morhaven, there were still plenty of vacant houses for its residents.

Because this mall was on the northernmost edge, closest to the outside world, it posed a certain security risk and had never been utilized.

But as Flora Bloom opened the gate, she revealed the tangled, overlapping vines of the rose bushes on the other side, which formed a solid green wall. She then turned to look at the others.

A thick mist of water suddenly spread out from Flora Bloom, enveloping everyone. She was afraid that contact with the decaying aura of the outside world might even affect the superpower users.

So, for her own safety, as well as that of her mother and the others, she decided to use her superpower to create a water mist and shield everyone inside it.

"There’s something I need to make clear. You all remember the earthquake from a couple of days ago, right? Cynthia and I happened to be coming back from outside that day. The world outside changed. Vegetation grew uncontrollably, and wild forests sprang up everywhere. All modern objects have decayed into nothingness."

"To put it simply, the world outside is no longer what it was. I don’t know if that decaying aura will harm superpower users, but I’m certain it is harmful to ordinary people."

"No way. The world changed? How much could it have changed?" Seth Warren was skeptical. Quinn pursed his lips, saying nothing. Sepherdine, looking as wary as Flora Bloom, unleashed his Middle Level Gold Ability.

Jade sliced open the space around her, partitioning herself, Lisa, and Caleb into an isolated dimension. No matter what changes occurred around them, nothing could affect them. Such was the power of a Space Ability User.

It looked as if she had only cut shallow rifts in space, but anyone trying to approach could only get infinitely closer to the area around the rifts, never reaching them. They were separated by a mere line, yet it was an insurmountable distance.
