Flora Bloom and Lex Cross left the room and closed the door. Seeing the ferocious look on Flora’s face, Lex pretended not to notice, grinning as he took her hand and led her toward the living room.

"It’s too bland. I want a fried egg and some dumplings. If only we had some fried pancakes—the kind that are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I could eat a whole plate of them!"
Lex Cross ladled a bowl of congee from the pot for her. "Don’t eat such greasy food so early in the morning, or you might throw up again. Just have the congee. It’s not good for pregnant women to eat things that are too oily or salty."
Flora Bloom took two sips of the congee, then snatched a pan-fried dumpling from Cynthia Grant’s hand, stuffed it into her mouth, and chewed in satisfaction.

"Go on, sue me! Never mind that this is the apocalypse and not a society of laws. Even before the apocalypse, do you honestly believe anyone would have dared to accept your lawsuit, even if you filed it a hundred times?"
"You!" Cynthia Grant suddenly shot to her feet. "Don’t go too far!"
Five stuffed a fried egg into his mouth. "I didn’t say anything. Why are you getting so worked up?"
Cynthia Grant gritted her teeth, kicked her stool back, and stormed upstairs, leaving Five sitting there, stunned and at a loss for words.
Flora Bloom glanced at Five, her stare making the hairs on his neck stand up. "I... Sis-in-law, I was wrong!"
Flora Bloom picked up a fried egg with her chopsticks, pushed it under the congee to soak up the flavor, and said coolly, "Whether you were wrong or not has nothing to do with me. I’m not the one you offended."
Five’s face crumpled in distress. "I... I was just trying to tease her. Sis-in-law, I didn’t mean it."
"Don’t tell me. She’s the one you provoked, so why are you explaining yourself to me? Also, Lex Cross, I can’t drink anymore. Can you stop feeding me like this? I’m going to fucking puke!"
Lex Cross stopped the spoon that was incessantly moving toward Flora Bloom’s mouth. "What else do you want to eat then? I’ll get it for you."

After being subdued by Isla Preston, Chester Bell had been working in the yard for the past two days, either plowing fields, planting vegetables, and watering them, or cleaning the yard and the patio behind the villa.
According to Flora Bloom, the people who had been locked in a villa—Azure Leroy, Tianna Bloom, and Lucia—had all been released. All of them except Lucia had already left the villa district.
But Lucia remained, squatting by the quarantine wall and refusing to leave. As a Water Ability User, if she were to go out and join another team, she certainly wouldn’t be left without a place to stay.

Flora Bloom pushed Lex Cross away. "I know, just go already."
Lex Cross narrowed his eyes slightly, glancing at the empty space behind a tree to the side. His brow furrowed for a fleeting moment. He leaned in and kissed Flora Bloom on the forehead. "Be a good girl and wait for me to come back. Don’t run off anywhere."
The entire safe base had now been almost completely destroyed by the Three-Eyed Gorillas. The only part left intact was her half of the villa district. She watched as Lex Cross and the other two disappeared with a few leaps and flashes in the direction of the area outside the safe zone. Then, the smile vanished from her face, and she looked toward the empty space behind the tree.
"Come on out, Yue Mao. Your spatial fluctuations can’t hide from me!"
Yue Mao’s figure flashed and quickly approached Flora Bloom. He saw her staring in the direction Lex Cross had just left, a somewhat lonely expression on her face.
"You like him a lot?"
Flora Bloom glanced at Yue Mao’s dead-serious face. "Hey, you didn’t come here just to ask me that, did you? This flower already has a master, and I’m about to become a mother. You don’t have a chance!"
