Chapter 47: Chapter 41: Intermediate Spirit Stone

Qin Ling gave the giant snake’s skin and fangs to Tang Mo. He was returning to his base and wouldn’t be short on any resources.

Tang Mo, on the other hand, would be heading out to fend for herself with nothing to her name, which made him worry.

The giant snake was enormous, so Tang Mo only had Qin Ling carve out the largest sections of meat. They discarded all the other miscellaneous bits and pieces.

The two of them then spent a long time cooking all the meat before storing it in Tang Mo’s Space. They prepared it in all sorts of ways—grilled and steamed—so Tang Mo could have some variety.

The stock in her Space, which had dwindled over the past few days, was once again filled to the brim thanks to the replenishment of snake meat.

As for the meat that wouldn’t fit, Tang Mo and Qin Ling sat on the ground and stuffed themselves. To be able to eat cooked food like this during the apocalypse was a tremendous blessing.

Besides, the mutant beast’s meat was fresh and tender, no worse than farmed poultry. Paired with Tang Mo’s rich array of seasonings, the final taste and texture were simply divine—so fragrant it made you want to swallow your own tongue.

Whatever they couldn’t store or eat, Tang Mo and Qin Ling packed into their backpacks. In short, they were determined not to waste any of it.

Wasting was shameful. Wasting was a crime.

With the mutant beast that had been trapping them now dead, there was really no reason to remain. Rather than waiting on the mountain, it was better to head back to the school. That way, they could react at a moment’s notice if there was any news.

However, by the time they finished cleaning up, the sky had already grown dark. The two discussed it and decided to spend one last night here before leaving.

The cave was quite spacious. Inside, Tang Mo used foam mats and bedding to make two beds, spaced far apart. The two of them rested peacefully like this.

But they had just confirmed their relationship today, and now, sharing a room again, the atmosphere had become delicate.

Tang Mo and Qin Ling sat on their respective beds, neither saying a word...

Neither had any experience; no one knew what to do now. But it was obvious this was not a convenient place to make any... progress.

"Get some rest. Good night."

Qin Ling was the first to blush. He dove under his covers, turned onto his side, and refused to look at Tang Mo.

Tang Mo’s face flushed for a moment as well, but she slowly steadied her emotions. She sat cross-legged, preparing to accomplish one major task before leaving.

And that was to absorb the Intermediate Spirit Stone.

Soon, Spirit Stones would become the currency of this world. Judging by the exchange rate, an Intermediate Spirit Stone could be traded for a lot of food.

But obviously, to Tang Mo, nothing was more important than her own strength.

To avoid any trouble from unforeseen delays, she wanted to convert the item into attribute points as soon as possible for her own peace of mind.

She used the same method as when she had absorbed the red Basic-level Spirit Stone, placing this one in the palm of her hand.

Only this time, it required significantly more strength to crush. As the brilliant blue liquid within slowly flowed out, Tang Mo closed her eyes, feeling the energy pour into her veins, even nourishing her internal organs.

Although not much liquid flowed from the single Crystal Stone, the immense energy it contained made Tang Mo feel every inch of her body growing stronger.

Blue represented agility, but the Crystal Stone didn’t just provide an increase in attribute points; it was also a form of reinforcement for the user’s body.

The effects from the previous Basic-level Spirit Stone hadn’t been very obvious, but the changes this Intermediate Spirit Stone brought to Tang Mo’s body were practically visible to the naked eye.

Tang Mo opened her eyes and felt the distinct muscle definition on her abdomen, immensely satisfied.

’No wonder Intermediate Spirit Stones were so fiercely fought over in the future. The benefits they brought were truly enough to make anyone green with envy.’

Opening her ID Watch, Tang Mo checked her latest attribute values. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom

ID: Tang Mo

Life Value: 21

Strength Value: 22

agility: 43

spiritual power: 57

Space: 0

Overall Strength: 143

’My Comprehensive Attribute Value actually broke a hundred!’

Tang Mo was pleasantly surprised. In her past life, her total attribute value hadn’t reached one hundred until about a year after the apocalypse had started.

By that point, she had already been through dozens of battles, large and small, just to raise her attribute value bit by bit.

But in this life, after absorbing two abnormal treasures and two Spirit Stones and training constantly, she had finally broken one hundred for her Comprehensive Attribute Value while still at school.

Tang Mo hadn’t checked her attribute values since absorbing the Basic-level Spirit Stone, and she realized they had grown abnormally fast.

She wasn’t surprised, though, because the Spiritual Energy in this cave was too abundant to ignore. Training her spiritual power here yielded twice the results with half the effort.

Moreover, she hadn’t just been training hard every moment of these past few days; she had also fought in several battles.

Combat was one of the most effective ways to increase one’s attribute points.

What surprised her most, however, wasn’t this, but the changes to her body and her Space.

Tang Mo focused on her body, feeling as if every muscle fiber was under her command. She had achieved one hundred percent control over every part of her body.

And then there was her Space...

She discovered that after she had completely absorbed the Spirit Stone, her Space had actually expanded a little!

It wasn’t by much, but the area where she kept her items, which had been packed to capacity, now felt looser, with a bit of extra room.

Tang Mo tidied up the contents and made a rough estimate—her Space was now a full square meter larger than before!

Perhaps Tang Mo hadn’t paid close enough attention when she had absorbed the abnormal treasure.

Her physical constitution had been too poor back then, so a small amount of reinforcement didn’t produce a noticeable effect.

And all her attention had been focused on her Comprehensive Attribute Value, so she hadn’t noticed that her Space had slightly expanded.

The change from the Basic-level Spirit Stone had been too minuscule to notice, so the change brought by the Intermediate Spirit Stone now left Tang Mo overjoyed.

’The Space can be expanded with Spirit Stones or abnormal treasures. That means I can store more things in the future.’

’This undoubtedly adds another card to my hand, making it a bit easier to survive the apocalypse.’

However, her excitement lasted only for a moment before Tang Mo calmed down. She hadn’t forgotten the embarrassing fact that her knife couldn’t even cut through the giant snake’s skin.

’There’s always a higher mountain, and always a stronger person.’

’Qin Ling’s attribute value must be over 200 by now, right? So how many other experts are out there in the world?’

Tang Mo knew that the Alliance would soon release the combat power rankings. When that happened, the top ten people in the country with the highest Comprehensive Attribute Value would be on display.

Then she would find out just how strong the truly powerful were, and how wide the gap was between them and her. Tang Mo’s eyes filled with anticipation.

After tidying her bed, Tang Mo lay down. Exhausted after a long day, the two of them quickly fell asleep.
